I believe it is a scam by the phone company to make money.. the calls come every night and when you call back nobody answers.. ever... who pays for this long distance call?

A Jessica left a message, her extention is 2359, and gave me an id number to refer to when I call.

This number calls every single day, for someone who doesn't even live here. They do not identify who they are but leave their name and a reference number to quote for when they call back. "Hi Barbara, its very important that you call me back". There is no one here named Barbara!

I flipped on them!!!! After calling for someone that has the same last name, but I've never heard of I politely asked them to stop calling. My wife said they called everyday for a week after that, so when I was home and got the call I pressed 1 again to talk to them, telling them that I would pursue legal action if this did not stop. Luckily it did!

It is NCO Financial - a collection agency. They leave a message but fail to identify themselves. The message states that I must call them back regarding a personal matter and that I must quote a case #. They keep calling for an outstanding debt that I went bankrupt on years ago...I recently contacted my lawyer to request info be sent to them regarding my account in bankruptcy so that it will stop the harassing phone calls,

i keep getting call from 1866 248 9654 and unknown numbers a very Rude and Aggressive and Mean lady asking for some guy on my phone.  She is demanding a payment towards some depth.  I told her its the wrong number but they keep calling and Harrington me non stop.  I even called back the number and told them that its the wrong number and they asked for my name and then Hang up on me, and tell me that they cant speak to me.

i get the same calls, from this number 1 866 248 9654. How to stop these calls. anyone with an answer.

These individuals should have learned by know that a better part of the population have cell phones with call display and voice mail.

Unless it is someone i know i let it go to voice mail.

Jessica sounded hot at first, and i was trying to be suave but then she got all belligerent. Which was kind of a turn on. But then i just hung up on her when i realized how low down the human food chain she was to be working for a collection agency and to be speaking to me like that. Wal Mart Employees have more appeal then these leeches.

I am shocked at how NCO still uses collection scare tactics. These practices are why new collection laws needed to be written. I guess NCO hasn't read the laws or maybe they just don't care about them.
The term "Case" indicates a legal case before the courts. Unless this is the status, or the next intended course of action for the agency (which is unlikely because the collector doesn't make commissions if they send the file to legals); to use the term "Case" is a misrepresentation of the legal status of a debt and is a direct violation of collection laws.

Ministry complaint is one way to address the issue with the collectors.

If you've made the decision to not pay back an old debt, then so be it! Do not answer any phone calls from anyone you don't know or that show up as "unknown caller"! Let it go to voice mail.
If it comes down to it, change your home phone number or change over to a different phone service provider & never give out your phone # to anyone! Debt collectors will keep on calling whatever last phone # they have on record for you & so will their competitors (other debt collectors)! It never stops, you just have to stay at least 1 step ahead of them. Maybe consider getting a VOIP that you & only you can plug into your computer's router & be able to make phone calls on an outgoing basis. Never give out your mobile phone #!
If you change your home # for a new one, then your old # will just be assigned to someone else later on. And then they will have to deal with debt collection calls for you!LOL

I'm sick & tired of getting these calls asking for my daughter who doesn't even live with us any more .How can i stop them from calling here. His name is Jim Mcgree or that's what he calls himself & the # he leaves is 1-866-248-9654. He doesn't say what company he's calling from  & i try to question him & he will not give me any information.only say to tell my daugther to call him so they can help her & she doen't want to phone them because she doesn't know who they are & they won't give me any information tells me for her to call this # & then they hang's up on me.

same problem here I have a panasonic portable phone which has blocking on it so that is what i have done who ever had this number before me sure owes a lot of money on credit cards it is NCO collection agency 1-866-248-9654

I actually got this about an hour ago the same number, and we let the answer phone pick up the call, but they never left a message, and if they do, you can hardly hear them, which takes the biscuit if you know what I mean, we don't answer these phone calls whatsoever, especially when they won't leave a message.  A few weeks ago it was another number, and we haven't heard from anyone for at least a week.  Wish they stop hounding people.

The calls never stop! Unless you do something about stopping the calls! Change your # to another one & only give out this new # to your friends/ family & no one else! Debt collectors call on behalf of a debt from various collection agencies! They all compete with one another to establish contact with you, so that you can continue making payments! Jim McGee has been calling our home from 1-866-248-9654 & 1-519-750-5906 & leaving very brief messages to speak to someone who rented our basement apartment many years ago! I have long given up trying to explain to them that the person they are looking for has since moved out & I have no contact with them at all! Yet a few months go by & another debt collector/ agent will cal up from another company or even the same company. They all seem to get their information from a script that is very outdated & even when I set them straight. They still end up calling back again in a few months looking for the same person!
Honestly, just change your number & stay at least 1 step ahead of these guys.

My Brother just received a call asking for me but used my maiden name. I've been married for over 12 years so not sure why they are calling for me.
So I called this number 18662489654 asking for Julie Mansfield and of course she is not there but they could help me. I gave them the reference number and asked what this was concerning and they ask my name and i said no you can tell me who you are looking for as this is not my name. The man got nasty and I said maybe thats it was a scam based on what i've read on the interenet. the man went crazy on me. Plus when he said my name it was not me and then said oh is it this and I was like youv'e got to be kidding. I told him never to call my family again and he hung up on me.
So I called back and told the woman this time what had transpired and siad that i was having nothing to do with this kind of attitude and she said are you threathening me. I said okay i've had enough of this and for them never to call that number again which she then hangs up on me too. Crazy people!!!!!

are this people stupid?, do they get any training at all from this company. I used to live in another state 12 years ago, my ex ran up her credit cards and I signed the lease in the apartment that we used to live, we separated 10 years ago and this moroms want me to pay for her credit cards knowing well that my name does not even appear in her credit history. Told them to stop calling me and stop harassing me or I will be pursuing, legal action, now they arevusing different names with the same voice.
