Got call at work saying they were Chase Credit Card, to call back immediately. When I called back they immediately asked for my full credit card number. I noticed that the number I called did not match 800 numbers on the back of my card. I did not give my cc number. They then asked for my phone number and said they looked up my acct and everything was ok, not sure why I was called. This is the second credit card scam call I have received, last one they were very threatening, saying I was late on payments for 9 months. I have very good credit so I denied it and they connected me with the "fraud department" (HA!), then got a nice lady who asked for more info (that I did not give-asked for last 4 digits of my SS number). I did give my home phone number, hope this doesn't lead to more problems, but I always get voice mail and never answer the home phone.

We had the same problem just recently. Called Chase and was told the number was not affiliated with them in anyway. It's a scam people! don't give "Chris" any information!

This IS Chase, folks. If you got a call from 407-771-0953, maybe even with a few hangups, and they leave a message asking you to call 866-252-5776, it's because you forgot to pay your bill. Happens to the best of us (ask me how I know). They DO NOT ask for your full credit card number, and in fact the rep I talked to was very nice and waived the late fee. I confirmed all of this by logging into my account online.

This is a scam. People who say it isn't are shills or were phished. Call the number on the back of your card. They'll verify this. Also you'll hear the differences between the sound of chases official phone tree and the one the scammers are using.

John D, the very first thing they ask for is your full account number.

Also, if you weren't scammed by this, if you really think this is real, why did you google the phone number?

The people saying it's legit may not be shills but the people saying it's a scam are correct, too.

Criminals fake Caller ID to show legit numbers. How can you tell the difference? Take the advice given by David and call the number on the back of your credit card. Don't give *any* information (account number or card number or even your name) to someone who calls you, even if you feel sure they're legit.
