have received multiple calls from this number followed by an immediate hangup when phone is answered.

called this # back (866 260 2211) it is from nuance software .....they sell the dragon product & they do offer to remove you from their calling list if you so choose

No message ...just calling and immediate hang up when answered.  When u call the # back...the message says no one there to answer call.

If this is from Nuance Software, they hang up calls are a pain in the rear and not appreciated as it is take me away for work! that i need to be performing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are having exactly the same experience as everyone above. We have received a call every weekday morning at 8:15 AM for the last 2 to 3 weeks. Extremely frustrating! Have tried call blocking once, but it didn't work. Tried a different call-blocking route this morning. Will see if that works.  I'm also going to call Nuance to confirm if it's one of their numbers and get myself removed from their call list.  What a pain!  Too bad the software company with a good product uses such aversive marketing techniques.  D Lindblom

I get these calls too. It seems unlikely that Nuance would call and hang up. What's the point? There are ways to spoof the name of the caller and I'll bet that is what is happening here.

I received a call from them on my cell while driving. They spoke so fast I couldn't tell who it was from, and they immediately hung up. Called the number back from my call history and asked to be removed from their contact list, still no knowing who they are.

Searching on here I now find they are from a company I deal with. Too bad. If they had been more clear I would have stayed on their list. I love some of their stuff. But since being laid off only have an interest in updates to the products I still use, not the dragon line.

You may be right. A google search showed it as a list of numbers originating in China. But I couldn't get the page to translate to make sure it was exactly the same number and not just a fragment match.

Nuance corporate HQ is  781-565-5000. Maybe we should try that number.

I would like to know who is using this number?

Like many of you I have wondered why Nuance would aggravate their customers with so many calls. Their software products are good enough to get plenty of word of mouth recommendations. I use several and am satisfied.

Well, the answer is that the calls are actually from one of the phone centers of Digital River, a sales agent for many well known technical companies such as Nuance, Adobe, Lenovo, Western Digital and dozens more, according to Wikipedia. You can look it up yourselves.

So, don't get mad at Nuance, although they should be aware that their agent overdoes the sales flak.

I have nothing to do with Nuance except that I am a customer. Yes, I find the continual calls a nuisance, but I check my caller ID and just don't answer. When I need something from Nuance, then I call their sales number, which goes to Digital River as do Internet orders as well.

These guys are relentless.  I purchased their OmniPage Pro a few months ago and now they call several times a day wanting me to upgrade.  I no longer answer their calls and I changed the caller ID to NUISANCE SOFTWARE, since it seemed more appropriate.

This number calls a lot but leaves no message. My guess is it is an advertising gimmick to promote phone identifying business for a fee.

Call receive on "Land Line" which is on DNC list.  Didn't answer. Didn't leave message. CID: 800 Service.

Received calls within just over a hour apart. No messages left on voice mail.  I have received calls from this number in the past.  It seems to happen around IRS tax time.
