When they called the line was silent then disconnected July 2, 2012.

They have called me 3 straight mornings at 9am - this morning wasa holiday. They know my name as when my wife answered and said I wasn't home they hung up.

Unknown caller; when I answer, the call disconnects.

Caller asked for our IT guy; said he was with Nuance.  Trying to sell software.

They call three times in a row at 9:36A everyday.  I have used their automated system to remove my number and talked with their personnel, but I still get the calls...  Weeks now.

Should be called Nuisance Software, not Nuance Software... I don't want to buy your products, but thanks for checking everyday --- three times a day.

9:51A - Four calls in under one minute...  They were a little late today, normally they call at 9:36A...

Thanks, good info.  Nuance calls me regularly to update my software.  Unfortunately the new stuff doesn't have the features I really want.  I thought they would stop calling.  At least it's at work!

If this is how they treat people I will never buy a single software item again from them. Everyday the same thing, call, call, call. I'm going to start calling them everyday and see if they will buy something from ME! Did the automated system to remove my number and still no change.

This is getting ridiculous.  I shouldn't even bother to answer because every time I do, no one is ever on the line.  The call every morning between 8 and 8:30.  What a pain.

It's not Nuance (or if it once was, it's not anymore). It's American Express.

We've been getting harassing phone calls consisting of nothing but annoying tones from this number, as well as other "unknown caller" numbers. The calls started right after we hit a rough patch and got behind in payments to American Express. We suspected it was AmEx, but didn't know for sure, UNTIL they slipped up and used THREE of those same phone numbers to instead deliver an automated message ASKING US TO CALL AMERICAN EXPRESS. (It's a good thing we logged those numbers!)

So, if you're getting calls from any of the numbers listed below, perhaps you (or someone in the household) is behind in payments to American Express?

In our case, almost all the calls are pure harassment, consisting of loud "beeeep beeeep beeeep" tones that go on and on. When the answering machine answers the phone, the tones continue until the machine times-out and disconnects. When we answer the phone, we are also greeted by the same loud tones. These are not telephone company type tones; at least, not like any I've ever heard before.

Generally, we get about 2 to 4 (or more) of these "tone" calls per day, coming in from any of the following numbers:

A few calls from these numbers were "silent"...no tones, no nothing.

A few calls of the loud tones have come in from blocked IDs (unknown numbers).

Anyway, embarrassing as circumstances are, I figure someone else might find this info helpful.

866-260-2386 is definitely Nuance.. just called the number , I spoke to them about fixing auto dialer. as well as removing me from call list

No idea who Nuance even is.  I called and removed my number.  Lets see what happens.

Called but didn't leave a voice message. Could hear call centre-like noises in the background.

I am sick and tired of getting these calls everyday. If I do answer there is no one on the line. Never leaves a voice mail. Help.

Use call control...download  app. I heard about it in a forum like this a few months ago. Blocks any number you say two. The free version only blocks 4 #'s and for $8.00 bucks you can block an unlimited amount of #'s.You can set the parameters how you wish. i.e. block all 800 #'s or block all unknown #'s. Real easy and worth the $8.00.

We get calls regularly from this number. Today they were looking for Mark, no Mark here so she said sorry and hung up. Most times we don't say anything and the line remains dead silent. Think it needs a voice activation.

They call everyday sametime and do not leave message, so I anwsered today and asked them to put me on Do Not Call List, they are from PDF Software
