- Bruiser| 2 repliesThe woman leaving the prerecorded voicemail was breathless with excitement when she said they got my phone number from me or a family member at one of "their events", and my name had been pulled to receive a 2 night/3 day hotel stay, 2 complimentary air fare vouchers for anywhere in the continental US, and $200 worth of gas. They weren't time share they said. No sir, not a time share, not at all.
She said she was Jill Roberts with the promotions department of CTI. But when you call the number, the same woman (always a recording) said you've reached America West. All they ask, is you attend Grand Opening of their new Travel Service, located in Crystal Lake (but they're not a time share!)
Must bring a drivers license and a credit card - for informational purposes only of course, they have no interest at all in your credit card information. And they're not a time share!
Reception to be held at:
620 Rte 31
Crystal Lake, IL 60012
A google of this address brought me to a web page for Global Travel. This page shows a different "prize" but the terms and conditions were the same. Show up for a "brief discussion of your vacation needs and various worldwide vacation opportunities." (but they're not a time share, honest! No pressure!).- Call type: Telemarketer
- ccleft a message that i won something from one of their promos. free airfare, hotel stay and $200 gas. too good to be true.
- Caller: didn't say
- HitmanNumber86It seems like everyone got this call around the same time today. Can anyone locate the original party or confirm legitimacy?
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Werd| 1 replyI also received this message. I'm skeptical since I have entered contests... but usually for free sporting event tickets. So this sounds like rubbish. Did the recording say something about me entering this last year or something? Sounds like a scammmmmm

- ab replies to WerdYeah - total scam, check out all these posts - all from today... not that many people would win within hours of eachother.

- Cows| 1 replyOh hey what do you know, I got one too. The caller ID was different thought, and America West? The airline that got bought out by US Airways? Huh. I heard CGI instead of CTI though, which sounds even more generic. I thought it might have been legit since the caller ID was local but my family never does entry contests and I've only entered contests at restaurants for free food.
Also did a reverse lookup on the caller ID, came from a cell phone. Professionalism at it's best.- Caller: CGI, CTI, America West, or whatever

- Mr. Garner replies to Bill Schooley| 1 replyI got the call yesterday. I actually called them back from a non-traceable number and they said they'll be at this address:
620 Route 31
Crystal Lake, IL 60012
Friday June 12
6pm
8pm
Saturday @ 12 noon
The giggly girl recording said to leave a recorded message of your name and favorite time (and of course to bring a credit card). My issue with these things is it they seem to say all you need to do is X. Then when X is done (i.e., calling them back) they ask for y. Then when y is done (i.e., pressing one) they ask for w. Bait and switch stinging you along.
I'm not going, but I may get this address announced on the radio Friday to warn people to stay away and ask if we can find some unique ways to deliver the credit cards they so desperately need. - I Hate TelemarketersVoice message said to call 866-262-9755
So, the thing is, what links us all (besides location) so that they were able to get our numbers?
Cell Phone Carrier? AT&T 773 area code
Phone Applications/Phone? BlackBerry
Credit Cards? None
Blood Donation? Yes
Or could this have been a random dialing of numbers?
I usually do not sign up for things or, when and if I do, I list an old number.
I know that they have to earn a living also, but I'm sorry, I hate telemarketers!
Why can't they just stick to calling people that list their numbers in the white pages?!?!- Caller: CTI

I legitimately fell for the scam. I got myself all worked up only to be disappointed in the end. A breathlessly excited Jill Roberts told me I had won an all-paid vacation (2 night/3 day, $150 in gas money, round-trip air tickets) to either Orlando, FL, Cancun, Mexico, or Las Vegas, Nevada. Her recording told me that this was promotional so that if i enjoyed my stay, that she hoped i would go through the company in the future. Well, then she told me that i had to be over 28, married, or had an income over $50,000. since i didn't fit any of those, i got on here through google to look up information to call something other than a recording and that's how i ended up here...i was told to go to hotel in Little Rock, AR for a presentation. and she told me to bring my credit card and ID as well...I'm a total sucker...but has anyone else actually gone to one of these so-called presentations?- Caller: CTI travel packages!
