This number is driving me insane, they keep phoning my cell, 3- 5 times a day. I picked it up and waited and waited, its like they put me on hold for a importmant message. There should be a limit on how many times they can phone you.

This is the same caller from 866-435-7960.  It is a call centre outsourced from Rogers.  They are in Toronto and do cheap telemarketing calls.  So cheap is their operation that their dialing software has a bug in it and that is why you get called by a computer with no one at the other end.

Hey people, pay your rogers bill... and you won't get these calls.  I agree that it is a pain in the [***] and they shouldn't call you so many times... but i also used to do collections.  Sometimes it's necessary to get freeloaders to pay.  SO don't be a freeloader and they'll leave you alone.

Well if you would wait a few days to call instead of the day the bill is payed how the f%%k would you know that the bill has not been payed! You are the only company that does this. Stop being a pain in the [***] and do things like the other companies do!!!

    RE: Pay Your Bill
I received three calls in one day from this number. I called back and they said they were sorry, it must have been a problem with the automated messaging. I'M NOT A FREELOADER AND DID PAY MY BILL! So why wasn't I left alone?? And it wasn't a late payment either. SO don't call people freeloaders when you don't know everyone's story.

The problem with Rogers is that they apply your payment only to the current charges and not to the overdue ones as they should. So your account goes past due very quickly. Even if it's only $1, they'll call you to demand the past due charges and the current charges, and sometimes they want you to pay next month in advance just to add insult to injury.

If you make them aware that you know of this practice, your cell phone/cable will magically start working again.

I just love how they forward all your cell phone calls to thier billing dept. when you owe them 5 bucks! Now that's customer service!

I got called, I don't owe one penny to them.  Unless they are calling to remind me that I got a bill in the mail that isn't due for another week which in that case is a total waste of time because I've always paid my bills on time, even days early most of the time.  Might set my computer up to constantly call them just for fun.

My bill comes out directly, and has with rogers for years before I had the phone line with them, so these calls have nothing to do with payment. Unless this is there way of thanking me for being an exemplary  customer, in which case they can keep it. Also I'm sure many people using this website are thankful for this method of reporting, as am I. It is unfortunate that there are other people coming on here leaving messages that are not useful and are in fact unjustly accusatory!

    ***THIS IS IMPORTANT***

I've been getting calls from the same number. Apparently, it is Rogers. If you do owe them money, guess what. If you live in Ontario, now you don't.

It is *ILLEGAL* to contact somebody more than 3 times in a 7 day period for the purposes of collection.

It is *ILLEGAL* to contact somebody outside the hours of 7am and 9pm on weekdays and Saturday.

It is *ILLEGAL* to contact somebody between the hours of 1pm and 5pm on Sundays.

It is *ILLEGAL* to call somebody on a statutory holiday.

It is *ILLEGAL* to call somebody and not identify themselves.

This number has done all of that to me. It calls me at LEAST six times a day. It calls after 9pm on weekdays and Saturdays. It calls well after 5pm on Sundays. It called me on both Good Friday and Eastern Monday, two statutory holidays. It does not identify itself either on Caller ID, nor on the phone as you have all pointed out.

If you are with Rogers, and this is happening, pick up the phone and inform them that a collections service in their retention is committing collections harassment against you in the province of Ontario. Tell them you are retaining a lawyer. Don't hesitate.

It's what I'm doing, and it's rather satisfying watching them beg me not to win a potentially large judgment against them over a measly $50.

I got a call from this # also with no message left on my cell phone

Started a few days ago. Got this new number and it apparently belonged to someone who left owning bits here and there (it is not the first call I receive for him) so the billing department theory makes sense indeed.
I got the whole "stand by for an important call". After the second repeat of that message I hung up (it cannot be that important if it needs that much waiting).
It is a pain but as with many phone calls every since I got that new number, I've learned to ignore it and have stored it in a list of numbers that do not ring on my phone.
Thanks for this info, though, now at least I know where it is from.

You have to know that what you just said is a total load of crap..
Rogers will call you regardless if you own them money or not.
They're a service, they are trying to sell more of this service to their customers. Don't have rogers home phone? You'll get a call.. Don't have HD Cable.. you'll get a call.. The fact that they outsource this end of their business to 2nd and 3rd rate call centers is beyond me, but then again mega faceless monopoly like companies will do anything to save themselves a buck these days..
My advice.. want these calls to go away.. Ditch Rogers as your service provider.. Just be prepaired to get calls from Bell or AT&T or whoever you replace them with.. IF YOU HAVE MONEY THEY WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU ALONE!!!

I used to have a Rogers pager and I cancelled it two months ago. I have no balance left and they called me during my vacation. They left no message. I guess they want my business back, but harassing me is the best way to lose me for good.
