Call received at 9pm. Woman's voice said "I'm sorry...I must have dialed the wrong number." What's up with that?!

Just got a call from this number a 8:53pm EST.

Seems to be a pre-recorded message as the lady is very calm... almost bored sounding, and there is no background noise at all.

only says "I'm sorry. I must have dialed the wrong number."

I just had a new phone turned on as of 09/17/07,  within 2 days this number (866-270-4461) is on my caller id.  I looked into the number I recieved and they were a local flooring company, and in a matter or 4 days I have gotten 3 calls from this number (and others) either trying to collect on credit cards or offering cards....
I'm getting a new phone number as of tomorrow!

i'm a 16-year-old and was sick today, and i woke up to the phone ringing, picked it up, and got a woman's voice saying "I'm sorry, I must have dialed the wrong number." i replied with "okay" assuming i would get a response, but i got nothing and then heard the dial tone. i thought it was weird, and then got creeped out when i got the same call a couple hours later. that was when i realized it was a recording. and again i received it, just hours later. when i checked to see the number by calling *69, it said it was private and that i can't return the phone call.

Same thing - call from 1-866-270-4461 and "I'm sorry, I must have dialed the wrong number."  I had forwarded calls from my home phone to my cell phone - that's the only reason why I know the phone number from which the call came.    I started to ask, "Who were you trying to reach?" when the call was terminated.

I WORK ALL NIGHT. IF ANYONE CAN FIND OUT HOW TO STOP THIS PLEASE LET ME KNOW.  THIS IS SUNDAY!!!!! MONDAY I WILL CALL MY PHONE CO. AND TRY TO PUT A STOP TO THIS.

She called my business line, but I did not answer as my business I simply said hello, and yes she only says "I'm sorry, I must have dialed the wrong number"

Our phone # is a business as well as home. When I answered "hello", live female voice said "I'm sorry. I must have dialed the wrong number. Sorry."
The Yellow Pages did carry an ad for us for one year about 7 years ago.

I had a call like that with the same message. I hope anybody can do anything about these kind of calls during the night.

I get these calls every day random times.They call just to hang up.There are 5 different 866 numbers that take turns calling me everyday.I see the number on caller ID and disconnect them."Do Not Call Registry" is experiencing system difficulties. Big surprise.

same story like everybody else. I feel stupid for saying "its ok have a nice day..." i was able to catch on after the third call IN ONE HOUR.

They are selling mastercard services. I am on the do not call list and they still are calling.

they called my phone and i heard that dumb recording..sounded scary..
i called back from computer instead...

They called our after hours medical emergency number. Caller ID shows 866-270-4461. Filed complaint with DoNotCall.gov, as per usual. Second time I always file a complaint with the attorney general. May yet again file a formal complaint for another dopey marketing company. They never quit, and the government doesn't enforce the rules unless they see huge dollar signs in fines. I wished there was a code to enter where the phone company would automatically place you compaint on the do not call form right from your phone. Maybe *76 for p*ss *ff.
