- JPThis phone number is for Compass Bank Collections Center for their credit cards. It is actually part of the bank and not just some outside collections agency.
- Caller: Compass Bank
- Call type: Debt collector
- NotBuyingItI did not answer. I do not believe that the phone number belongs to Compass Bank because I have never had any dealing whatsoever with that bank and my phone number is registered on the Do No Call list. The bank would have no legitimate reason to call me.
- Bob GanderYes, it is the debt collector part of Compass Bank. They have been calling me about a Compass Visa debt that my dead brother had. The debt went from $167 to over $10,000 about 6 months after he died, so I think there must be some credit card fraud going on. But I didn't do it and I'm not responsible for any of it. My brother died out in his back yard of heat stroke (Phoenix, Arizona is hot) and his body wasn't discovered for about a week after his death, and his back door was open all that time and his house had been burglarized, so I guess someone got his Compass Visa card and started using it.
But calling me and threatening me over the phone isn't going to get that bill paid. I'm not going to pay for criminal's credit card purchases. I'm not even the next of kin. I'm just one of his siblings but because my phone number is listed in the phone book (and we have the same last names), they started calling me.
They can take their bill and stick it up their you know whats as far as I am concerned.- Caller: Compass Bank Visa

- DavidThis is a Compass Bank credit card division, what jerks. Our card payment was 203.00, my wife made the check out for 250.00 but in the written section wrote Two Hundred instead. They are bugging us for 3.00 dollars, which we have already paid just not received at their billing center, what a joke!!

- annoyedthis is the 5th call i've gotten from this number in less than an hour and the call every day all day long. how do i STOP them from calling?
- LessIn this time of recession, the credit card companies should be better about how they approach and handle difficult situations and work with people. Lowering the payments, or something to make sure they keep there customers around for years to come. Its sad how money hungry they are.
- perturbedI returned the missed call from this number, and BBVA voicemail system immediately asks me for sensitive information (i.e. my SSN or bank acct). Talk about a red flag! I hung up the phone immediately.
I did have one late payment. Whether it was a legitment phonecall or not, that's one sketchy way to do business. It doesn't make sense that BBVA would handle one late payment like this. Better safe than sorry.- Caller: BBVA Compass

- SLHReceived call from this number said they were a aids research facility for pharmaceutical company and asked if I would do a survey and at the end of the survey would receive an 800 number to call to receive $75.00 dollars for participating in the survey. Curious I took the survey... a lot of personal questions that DO NOT have to do with aids. so if you get a call from this number it seems to be whatever they want it to be and they work off a script... don't accept any call from this company. I am in the USA and the person who called did not have any distinguishable accent. I hate people
- Caller: Aids focus group - said worked with national aids foundation
- Call type: Survey
- ToddThis number is the debt collections debt of Compass Bank. They've called more more than once a day, on Federal Holidays, and on Sunday, all violations of State and Federal law. They do not give you an address to write them to demand they stop calling you, another violation. They say they are recorded. I hope so. They must have terabytes of complaints and hot responses.
Are their any attorneys that watch this site and are interested in a class action suit against this company?- Caller: Compass
- ReceptionistDebt collector. Called for an employee. Just tell them the person doesn't work here anymore and they said they'd remove the number.

- Jesse JayYes, this call is from BBVA Compass. I had a payment show up late somehow, they blamed it on another bank (online bill pay) although I had no issues whatsoever with paying my bill for 3+ years. I don't know what happened to Compass Bank - they used to be excellent but I've had problem after problem lately! I actually closed my checking account because of BS fees and poor service - and I hardly ever give up like that.
This all started when I was short selling my home (mortgage NOT with Compass)... My credit rating dropped about 80 points, but I NEVER missed any other payments for over 10 years! They cancelled my credit card without any warning at all!!! Then it just kept getting worse so I closed all my accounts. Now, miraculously, I "missed a payment" d/t the other bank's error. Hmmm....- Caller: BBVA Compass

- JaclynI called the number and did not provide my information. I hung up and called the credit card number within my portal. I have never been late on my payments and somehow I got charged a late fee. They have been upgrading their portal system these past few months. Call the number within your portal to be safe.

- ProfessionalThis is BBVA credit card collections. Here’s some tips:
- When calling in, yes it ask for information. This is how they locate the account. You can bypass this by repeatedly pressing #, even if you get an error message, keep pressing.
If you DON’T have a bbva account:
- Answer the phone. They are probably calling because has listed your number as theirs somewhere. They can take this number out once you tell them.
- Answer the phone. If someone in your family recently passed away, and you have the same last name, they are calling to ask about them and get confirmation.
If you DO have an account:
- The bank requires them to maintain weekly contact with you. Answer the phone then they can hold the calls out one week.
- The system automatically calls on ANY past due amount, even $3. Most of time the agents aren’t manually calling you. They know it’s ridiculous, just help them out.- Caller: BBVA COMPASS
