Edward W. Gilbert - 8 Apr 2008How do you get signed up for this? They are taking $1.66 out of my checking account every month. I don't remember signing up for this. How can I find out what company it is? Or what it is? My bank just said it was some kind of insurance. Thats all I know about it. Thanks for your help.

Report as fraud - 8 Apr 2008Any unknown charge to your bank acct should be reported in WRITING to the bank within 60 days of when you learned of it (date of last statement usually). If you dont recognize it report it as unauthorized and suspected fraud. By law, the bank must hold those funds and investigate the matter and provide you with their results. Deal with your bank and not the charger...they will just give you a run around until the time to assert your rights runs out. However dont assert this right lightly. If you did authorize the charge then it will stay. So think very hard about any situation where you may have authorized the charge by signing up for just about anything nowdays. Especially when you gave out your card number. I for one would NEVER give out my card or acct number to anyone unless I definitely want to make a purchase and realize that any recurring charges will continue to hit you every month

rocknrollmomma06 - 8 Jul 2008my husband just called this number...it's monumental life insurance company and i evidently signed up for accidental death insurance thru suntrust bank in feb 07. they've been charging us $2.24 a month ever since. they said they'd send a copy of the form i mailed in, as well as a description of term benefits. i only have vague recollection of this happening, my son was rather young back then and i was busy/sleep-deprived! it seems legit, i just wish i had remembered signing up for this so i hadn't felt like i was getting money taken out every month for no good cause. i've never actually gotten a call from this company, this number just shows up along with "ins payment" on my bank statement once a month. this month it switched to "monumental life" instead of ins payment...not sure why.
