Called twice with no message, not even a recording.  I suspect it's AT&T as they have been calling me a lot lately from different numbers.  Could also be that collection agency, Portfolio Recovery, looking for someone else.

ID just said "Toll Free Call".

This turned out to be a legitimate call from a Kaiser Permanent Call Center.  When I called them again, I left a message for the agent to say something on the machine since I screen calls.  I get so many 800 calls, and I never answer them.

This number is NOT the number I dialed to reach Kaiser.  But it shows up on the Caller ID whenever this agent returns my call.

If you get a call from this number, it is probably them returning your call but not leaving a message.

Yes this is from Kaiser, if you signed for the CoverCalifornia they are trying to seek payment for your health insurance. Very nice people to talk to.

In this and every case, thank them for the call and tell them you will call them back at a number you know is legitimate for whatever company they say they represent. Get the number from the back of your credit card (if it's supposed to be your bank) or from your insurance policy or medical bills. Use that number to call back.

Scammers can fake caller ID information. You might have business with the company that is allegedly calling, but if it's a scammer you can be taken for credit card or other sensitive information.

These kinds of scams are definitely on the rise. If you don't believe that, you haven't looked at all the reports of exactly that kind of scam that are appearing on sites like this one.

Beware.
