It called your house? I had an unrecognizable charge on my bank account with this number listed as well as SAVE THE SHOP. Anybody know anything about it?

I am disputing a charge of $14.95 that showed up in my credit card on 3/11.
The thing is my credit card has been unused and in my safe since October.
I called the number and first thing the recording says is to press 1 if the charge on the bank account is unrecognizable. Then it asks for the first 6 digits of the credit card.

I also had a charge for 14.95 and am not sure what this is. Did you find out what this was for? I am going to dispute, but want to make sure it is something I ordered first.

We have the $14.95 charge on our Bank of America credit card on in late March from "Save the Shop" at 866-293-3508.  We also had a similar charge of $14.90 from "Computer Software" at 800-346-8752 on a BofA debit card.  Same phone tree on both numbers, press 1 for unrecognized charge, 2 for customer service, 3 for voice mail.  Totally smells of fraud.  Bank of America isn't doing anything about it other than refunding the charges, as they claim the charges are too small for them to investigate.  We're closing our accounts with BofA.

I had the same charge yesterday on my account.  My bank has closed that card and my claim is pending.  Hmmmm, seems as though this is getting bigger and someone needs to investigate it deeper. Not sure how far my bank will look into this.

i also have charges of 1.00 & 14.95 on my bank statement from "save the shop" in ny. someone needs to investigate this fraud or scam case. closed out my card.

I have also received this charge on my Etrade Visa. This is in my online itemized transaction:
COMPUTER SOFTWARE,800-346-8752NY   $14.90

I also called the number and was caught up in a phone tree loop. Total scam.

I also have the charges as of today 4/9/2010. Reported it to back they have not heard of it. My sister works for a major bank in their fraud department I emailed her to see if she can find anything I will post if she knows anything. I don't understand how they can charge to our accounts without the proper info. I also *67 my cell phone and called and never reached a person. I am wondering if there is anything similar about us as to where we live or shop on-line. I live in Oregon shop on Amazon, Newegg, Just check email sister has not heard of the scam.

Just got the same charge on the account, merchant from Nebraska with an Invalid Phone number. Do NOT provide your bank account number when asked too. Disable the current Debit card, get a replacement with a new number, and make sure you report this to your bank. I have, and after they looked into it there is plenty other people that complained. I recommend disabling the card, so that they no longer have your information.

Got my statement today and didn't recognize a $14.95 charge from the merchant 'Save The Shop'. Called the listed number 866-293-3508 and experienced the same recorded message. Seemed suspect, so searched the internet for 'Save The Shop' but found no listings. Then searched using the phone number and discovered this blog. Charge is definitely bogus. I closed my credit card account and Chase is refunding the $14.95.

I had the charge show up on my credit card for Save The Shop.  I called the credit card company and they reversed the charges for me.  I called the phone number, 866-293-3508, and got a recorded message that does not identify who/what you have reached.

I just got cought up in the same scam.  I closed out my card and filing a fraud affidavit with bank.  Same company and # as you so I called and got a recordin stateting I would get a refund in 5-10 business days.  Also had charges from Newegg wonder if they are in together?

Received the same change as listed below COMPUTER SOFTWARE 800-346-8752 NY  for 14.95.  This appeared on a credit card.  The card company stated that computer software had my card, as they are in NY and I am in AZ I think not.

Same thing happened to me today. I live in Phoenix checked my acct online as I do every 2 days or so. Had unauthorized pending charges of $1 and $14.95 listed as Computer Software 1-800-346-8752 NE immediately called and reported it. Card cancelled and charges will be denied. I bank with US Bank and they say they will send papers to fill out as well as another card and whatnot but I really don't believe anything will come of it but don't know what else to do. I don't do business with Newegg and havent purchased anything from Amazon with the card # that was compromised.
