- DC| 1 replyI got one on 04-August-2007. Asked me my name and hung up abruptly. Claimed they were Fido.
- SolargrlI got 10 calls from this number!
- KKcalls at least once a day - also on Fido phone - I called back but it just rang and rang.
- emjust received a call on my cell at work
didnt answer it though
probably similar response to the other posts if i did...my cell isnt free so i wouldnt answer random numbers! - Wisest YodaSame [***], I heard Fido outsources some of their customer relations, it is possible these calls are automated and designed to simply register 'hits' aka pick-ups by us which they can then charge back to Fido. The other likely possibility is that it is designed to figure out when the best time is to reach us, they then sell that info to telemarketing firms to increase their access to us... Bottom line, give em the ol'fuk-off and don't answer this number!
- Caller: Probably Fido
- GeorgeI strongly suspect that Fido is doing this to charge customers. Based on that , I am going to go ahead and guess that all you who reported probably don't have Free Incoming Calls.
- Caller: Fido
- kelsey replies to DCthey called me eight times.
i think it has to do with fido
cause i`m also with fido - ritayeah... i just started getting calls today, Aygust 14.
my phone isn't even on a contract! it's just "pay as you go"! I think they just keep calling to waste the minutes, those [***]! - mahmoudI called the nomber today ,,, and it has an option to remove your self from calling list ,, I did that ,, I will report you guys after few days ,, if this worked or not.. buy the way ,, my phone is does not recieve calls for free ,, so they wasted my minutes too ..
- tomThey freakin' call me everyday! I picked it up a few times before and no one says anything. So this is what I do on my phone. Add the number to my phonebook, assign a silent ringtone, so I don't hear it when they phone. My phone doesn't have call blocking features (Motorola L2) but this is good enough.
- chris| 5 repliesI have been receiving these calls for about a week. first time it rang i answered, thinking it might be Fido. Yes, I have Fido, and I don't have free incoming calls. Ever since the first time I have been called a number of times, and I never answer. Today, just 15 minutes ago, another call. I decided to take action. First thing I did, was search the web for this number, and that's how I got to this web page. Than, seeing that more people have the same problem, I tried dealing directly with Fido. They do not own this number, and , NO, they do not have a service where you could block calls from a certain number.... go figure.... So I decided to take the further step: Calling that annoying number: I thought that even if that's not a toll free number, I listen the first 3 seconds and I hang up. The first thing I heard was :"Welcome to ATELKA".
Next step. Search online for their web page. Not very hard to find : http://www.atelka.com/index.php. That's when everything made sense to me. Atelka Inc is a telemarketing company. They use a new calling technology named "Aheeva" (details about it here http://www.aheeva.com/en/index.php)
In layman terms, what this software Aheeva is doing, is calling random numbers over VOIP. (so they dont pay anything) They just happened to find our numbers, maybe because Fido doesn't disclose them, or maybe just because their technology can't block these calls. In any case, I don't believe they are in any way connected to Fido, but what we should do, is inform Fido (as I did) that some company is dialing Fido numbers, and that their company should make sure that their clients are not getting calls from telemarketers. Meanwhile, I called Atelka's toll free number (1-877-448-4905) , ask for the call center, and try to get your number off their list. It's what I did, although I can't confirm this worked, I will keep you guys informed about it.- Caller: 1-866-301-5302

- rkThis number has been calling me everyday. Yesterday they called me 5 times in less than 4 hours. Unfortunately I can't do anything because I refuse to let them make me waste my prepaid credit answering them or calling them back.
- akThis number called me again this morning, the first time is on yesterday morning at same time.
I used the Fido too and limited incoming minutes during 9am-7pm. - JThis number calls me all the time. Yesterday they called while I was at work, so I googled it and found this website. I used the info provided by Chris to call them back and ask to be taken off their calling list. I spoke to some guy named Phil (of course I had to give him my full name, but all he'd say was his first name was Phil) and then what do you know, I got another call this morning. So I called back and asked to speak to Phil and left a voicemail restating my desire to no longer be called.
Every time they've ever called me and I've answered, they automatically hang up. What a waste of time.- Caller: Atelka
- Call type: Telemarketer
- JThey called me again and said they were from Fido and wanted to ask me a question. I said I was at work and could not do this now, to which they replied they would call back later. I said please to not call again and then the guy hung up. I tried to call Fido to see what the deal is, but their wait time is "between 15 minutes and more than 30 minutes." I don't know how that is even possible. Fun times!
- Caller: Fido?
- Call type: Telemarketer
- ccalled again today 3x i answered once and it was someone calling on behalf of fido to see if i was satisfied with my service
- Caller: fido

- JM replies to baller ninners| 1 replyIt's FIDO or a third party calling for satisfaction ratings. I get the same think and it is very annoying.
