This number calls me 4-5times a day and it says we have an important business matter to discuss with you please call us back between these hours. I called them and it said it's NCO Financial.

This is NCO Financial. They called regarding my ex-husband account.

These guys call me 12 times a day!!! They are only suppose to call 3 times a day

They left an inoperable number and name - Kimberly York - 800-224-5915.  I traced that number to this one.  When I called, they immediately asked me for my credit card account#, then my social, neither of which I provided.  I called my card company and they report that they are not affiliated with either number nor NCO Financial.  I've reported both to the FTC.

They call me a dozen times a day about a stupid capitol one credit card that I am past due on. The funny thing is that the card only has a credit limit of $750 and these guys(NCO Financial) are telling me I owe them $1576!  When I called capitol one they offered a settlement of $675!

They called me asking for my sister, whom i hardly talk to and have no shared finances or anything of the sort.

They call me couple times/day on my cells. They have called me for couple months now. I've rejected the calls ever since. What should I do?

8663120375 is NCO Finacial calling about Capitol One Credit Card. They Call from many different numbers, some are not 800 numbers. I have gotten calls from area codes 215 PA, 480 CA as well. I tried working with them, However even after making payment arrangements, I was called again within a couple of days to go through the same conversation again. I tried talking to a supervisor about it but was of no use, the calls continue. I do not take their calls.

CAlled cell phone and hung up-no message-has happened 4 times

Left a 4 minutes and 50 seconds blank message. Funny thing is we don't have a credit card with Capital One or any unsettled debt with other credit cards.

I just called this number and this RUDE guy just answered and asked me my account number with Capital One (they specifically handle Capital One as confirmed by their rep Andrew). I told him I didn't have one and he asked me for my home phone number to be removed. I did not give him my home phone number for now. I'll keep calling them and bug them to see if I can find out more info.

Caller keeps calling and I told them whoever they are trying to reach does not live at this number nor have I ever heard of the person.  They won't stop calling.

This number call and told me to wait for an important message. I do not know this number and suspect foul play.

they call 5 times every day and if i pick up the phone no one is there. this has happened for weeks and someone was finally on the other end. I told them i was on the National Do Not Call registry and hung up. i havent gotten any more calls today...ill see tomorrow if it worked. stupid collectors

Two months of calls from NCO looking for "Jeffrey". I have been nice;I have been rude. Nothing works. There is no(nor has there ever been) Jeffrey here! Today,Sunday already bothered twice. They promise to remove the number but this obviously is lies!!!This is on the do NOT call list but they break the law and continue to call. My blood pressure is sky high dealing with these idiots!

Non-debtor's Right

Under the TCPA, a consumer has a right to file a lawsuit and recover $500 for each call that violates the TCPA. The TCPA can also be used in conjunction with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act in some situations.  

Generally, the TCPA does not apply to debt collectors making collection calls to debtors. However, if you are subjected to calls from a debt collector and you are not the debtor, you may file a lawsuit against the debt collector under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the TCPA.

This right was recently recognized by Judge Legrome D. Davis in a case called Watson v. NCO Group, Inc.  NCO Group is a debt collector that uses automated prerecorded collection calls.  In this case, Mr. Watson alleged he was getting hundreds of calls from NCO Group after he got a new phone number. Mr. Watson claimed he owed no debt to NCO Group, Inc.  Mr. Watson filed suit under both the FDCPA and TCPA.

David Israel, defense lawyer for NCO, argued that the TCPA should not apply to debt collectors.  Judge Davis rejected the argument made by David Israel. The judge ruled that Mr. Watson had a right to sue NCO Group Inc under the TCPA for $500 for each call.  Judge Davis wrote;

[The] Court is convinced that a non-debtor's rights are in fact violated when he is subjected to repeated annoying and abusive debt collection calls that he remains powerless to stop.

Judge Davis' ruling was based upon his interpretation that collection calls to non-debtors violate the privacy rights provided by the TCPA.  

So what can you do if you receive "wrong number" calls from debt collectors?

1. Sign up for the Do-Not-Call registry.
2. Save the calls captured by your voice mail or answering machine.
3. Contact a consumer lawyer.

866-312-0375 NCO calls five or six times a week asking for Ida. this has been going for more than a month.I have explained to them that this is a business line and to please remove this number from their list, that they have the wrong number. They agreed to remove the number. I have lost my patience with these idiots…they continue to call at all times, early in the AM and late in the evening. They have to be breaking the law with this continued harassment. If this continues I will be filling a law suite. We should put together a class action suite together with other victims of this phone abuse.

This number calls everyday

I just rec'd a call from this number and an agent named "Shaneffa" in the Caribbean. She wanted my SS#, DOB, and mailing address. She got none of them. She was calling about a Capitol One acct from an Odessa TX mailing address. I have not had a Cap One card since they ticked me off around 1997-98. There is a woman in Odessa with my wife's name but a different DOB who has bad creidt. I think this ties back to her. I thought the rep said "Enfield" but it could well have been NCO
