Nationwide arbitration supposedly a debt collector

calling to threating to prsoecute me for not paying a payday loan

I was contacted by this company and they state they are a arbitration firm which I asked what that meant because I thought they were a collection agency. long story short they stated that they prepare the case for the plantiff to pursue after making a recconmendation.. and that they only get 72 hours... provided me a client rep number ot verfy its on my credit report and just looked for a statement from me

I have had these scam fools call me before.  This time they have upped the ante.  They are calling all the people in my block.  Guess they can buy some kind of list of your neighbors.  They are calling relatives, which is bizarre.  How do they find them?  The numbers they called are unlisted landlines and I don't even have them.  I call my family's cell phones when I call.  Monday they called my son, my daughter, my sister, my son-in-law, and my son-in-law's father.  All told him there was no one there by that name.  They left a long winded message on my son-in-law's cell phone with case numbers, threats, 72 hours to respond, etc.  It's very embarrassing.  But I know they are scamming.  When they first started this I contacted a lawyer, just to see what my rights are.  He told me that, even if these were legitimate debts, threats about being arrested are bogus because owing money is not a criminal offense.  It's a civil matter.  I told one of these scuzzballs to go ahead and send the authorities out.  Of course, they never showed up.  I also told him I am not a moron and maybe he could fool some old ladies but he couldn't fool me.  When I called him a "Scammer" he became enraged and I hung up on him.  If you really want to bug them, play with them for a bit.  They really hate that.  Tell them you are recording the conversation.  HaHa!  I have another one that calls my landline several times a day.  I recognize the number and ignore it.  They never leave a message.  What a pitiful way to earn a living.  Also, they have a device where they can make it look, in the caller ID, like the call is coming from some other state, or a different part of your state.  Beware.

How they get my sister number when she lives in D.C.,and she have a unpublish number abd she does have my last name!! This harassment needs to stop A.S.A.P.And they're threating Me TOO,talking about prosecuting me for what?????

Received a call today about 5 minutes ago,stating that ...my ex(they said the name) is the target and that there is a criminal charge attached as well.  That they would be contacting my county to prosecute.
Yeah,  that's  illegal.  The person in question does not live any where near me  lol

They have called my best friend in West Virginia and stating they are looking for me...They then called my ex-husband stating they were the  FBI...If they could find his number they sure could find mind...I have reported them to several agencies..I tried to get their address no on will give it to me.  i spoke with a Brandon Davis trying to get a statement he hasn't sent it  and he never returns my phone calls...I know they will keep bothering relatives...My ex husband is very sick...I hope they stop calling him...I'm losing sleep over this...

I am tired of these people bothering..no phone calls returned..Tried to get a statement sent to me..No Luck..Tried to get a statement and when they bought the pay day loan debt..No Luck..

My parents got a call from them today.  They were told i had 3 charges pending unless i settled with them today. They discussed my debt, how i could pay it, the charges against me they will file, with my dad. (flag one...discussing third party info, threatening with legal ramifications without giving time to verify debt) My parents called me frightened.  I called the company and was told the same thing. after reiterating i could not pay the 1800 today,they asked if i could get the money from my parents or friends. i was passed to a "supervisor" who said they could negotiate a 402 dollor lump sum if paid by the 25th, or else they will be forced to file the criminal complaints.  he recomended i use a pre paid debit card.

forgot to mention...i called the BBB, and they had to record of the company.  They recomended i call the consumer finance comany and file a complaint.

Any caller who refuses to MAIL proof that the debt is yours and proof that they can legally collect said debt is owed NOTHING, per the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act).  Report the caller to the FTC, FBI, Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.  If your callers actually had proof that you owe this debt to them, they'd have no problem abiding by federal law and mailing the documentation to you.

Advise the scammers that you're recording all calls they make to you so your attorney (even if you don't have one) can file a lawsuit against THEM for multiple violations of the FDCPA.

If they keep calling, perhaps you can assign their number a "no-ring" tone so that at least you won't be disturbed by the calling, and it'll go right to voicemail or answering machine.  Your phone provider can probably help you do this.

There's no record of the company - they're scammers.  Never pay any caller unless they MAIL proof that you owe the debt and proof that they have the legal right to collect said debt.  If they refuse to mail this documentation to you, they're in violation of the FDCPA and as such, you owe them nothing.

Report the caller to the FTC, FBI, Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.

They had a record of them with a florida address but a new york phone number.  BUt the business is not registered with the BBB.  On the basis of my interactions, i filed a complaint with the FTC and will be in contact with the Attorney General tomorow.

A man by the name of Joshua Bryant called and said apparently there are 3 charges against my sister and that it is very important that she call back as soon as possible. He gave his number as 1-866-344-7859 ext 206. I asked my sister and she mentioned she paid a payday loan like 8-9 years ago and paid it off. We've heard from other people that this company buys old payday information and try to scare you into paying more money on paid off loans. Do not trust them!!

They called yesterday 11/13/13 and again today 11/14/13 stating, "they ran out of time to get a statement and my sister will now be summoned to appear in court, she will get letters at home and place of employment".... Like really people... What am I supposed to do about it.
