Have received about 8 collect calls from this number (which I didn't accept) It is from a Matt Courts at the Shelby County Correctional Facility. They want you to put your credit card number in to accept, then they have your credit card info for their own personal use. I don't think so......................It looks like correction officers could have a better grip in the inmates

I got one of these calls last night at 11:45 but I was asleep so the info went to voice mail about collect call from an inmate.  Thanks for posting what you know about this number because it really freaked me out.

got this call after 9 pm. very irritating garbled voice leaving messaage.

someone called me from this number imitating a friend of mine in need of help, they said they were about to be deported and needed a credit card or debit number, these are the kind of people that make the world ugly, if your out there reading this, be careful someone is trying to steal from you

This is the number from the Shelby County Correctional Facility and please let everyone that you know to NOT allow these inmates to steal your identity or ANY information. I will report this again to the authorities.

I work at a law office and we get calls from this number all the time from our clients.  Like someone said above, they can have prepaid phonecards now that allow them to make calls from jail.  If you don't know them, simply hang up.  They have no way of getting any of your info unless you say it to them.  Like I said, hang up.  If you know them, they are probably calling you for bail.  ;-)

I have an ex-employee who calls me from this number, in jail.
This really is just the outgoing number from the jail, for inmates.
If the inmate has the money placed on his calling card, in jail,
he can call anyone.
I guess that if inmates are into crime, even in jail, they can harass others, from jail also.
Giving out info to unknown callers, on the telephone, is unwise.

Got a call from this number 866-348-6231 at 6:04 this morning indicating a friend of mine, by name, was in the Pinellas County jail would I accept this call.

Received a call from (866) 348 - 6231 at 7:42am PST. It was an automated or robo call which left a voice mail in Spanish. Although I did not understand the call it was clear that there were references to credit cards. My number is on the national do not call list.  This caller is in violation of the restrictions related to phone numbers on the do not call list.

Received a call from this number at 4:30 a.m. saying I had a collect call from someone, I couldn't understand the name.

After reading all the notes, I noticed that this 866 toll free number is a company that is linked to all the calls from different detention centers like Immigration or Jail Nationwide, so if you are waiting for a call from somebody that is in jail or is in the process of deportation, it is he or she trying to get a hold of you. I tell you this because I got a call from a friend that is at the Denver Immigration detention center and was calling to give us information to release him and the call was true, it was him and it help us a lot, sometimes maybe these inmates dial wrong and I understand because they have the pressure of guys behind them trying to make a phone call as well.
I do not think they are scammers, but yes be careful giving out c.card numbers, it is better off to accept the collect call as the recording says, I hope this helps you boys and girs.

I was going through my call log and did not recognize the number. Once I read a few notes I remember now. My ex-husband was picked up by authorities in Texas. This a 3rd party company that dispatches calls for 'inmates' either collect or through their pay in advance by opening an account.

call to my cell. so far, one call at 6pm on sunday, march 21st and then another call at 10pm on monday, march 22nd. i didnt answer. they left a message which started out very garbled and stating a name of a law firm, which the name of the firm was garbled. it went on to state something about attorney client priviledge.
i now know not to bother answering the calls for sure.

got about 8 calls from this number so far.  Although,  saying its a collect call from Warren County Jail.  Need credit card number to accept call and has my brothers voice saying his his name, all prerecorded.
Does anyone have an idea where this number is originating

I have been getting a call from this number constantly for the last few days, it is all in spanish and i do not speak a lick of spanish.  The only english bit is Houston Processing Facility.  I don't know anyone that is in jail so they can try someone else
