i got a phonecall from an atty's office, mitchell n kaye, asking for my brother, who has never been linked to my number.  i asked where they got the number and he said my brother gave it to them, which is a lie.  when i googled the name, i found many rip-off re4ports so be aware...

This number call a place I worked at a year ago. They only left the name Sandit. I called it back and got the law offices of mitchel n kay. I asked the person on the phone what the call was in regards to. They asked for a reference number which of coarse I didn't have then he asked for my social security number. I told hime i would not give my SS# but would give him my name.He said my name would not help him. I hung up. Shady if you ask me.

Called for my father and they identified themselves as The Law Office of Mitchell and Kay.  It was obviously a call center because they had not come on the phone for some time after I answered.  I asked for the local number of the office and they said there was none.  I said if this is a law office then you would have a local number for my parents to call.   I advised him that I felt it was a fraudulent call and hung up.

I'm married and they called for my brother whom I haven't lived with since I graduated high school.  Would not offer any info. This is what I found on the Better Business Bureau web site(www.bbb.org). Law Offices of Mitchel Kay, 2000 Commonwealth Avenue, Auburndale, MA 02466 - Collection Agency.

call requesting info on an employee.  said he was not in at the time but would be glad to give a message.  left this number but no other info.  sounds fishy to me

They called me trying to contact my sister who was married 22 years ago and no longer has the same last name as me.  She also lives about 1,200 miles away from me.  How do they find this stuff out?  Anyway, they wouldn't tell me what it was about.  I googled the number and found this page.  Thank goodness, for every scam, the info is out there to protect yourself.  NEVER GIVE PERSONAL INFO OVER THE PHONE!!!  If someone wants to verify your info, make them give you the info they have and you can verify if it's correct.  If they don't have your info, hang up.

Saw it was toll free but ans'd anyway.  Won't do that again.  From what I read on this site, the person answering is never who the Mitchell N. Kayk law firm "wants". I just said I'd take a message and was given the 866 360 3992 as the call back # with an 8 digit 'reference #'.  Now the kid who was home at the time understands why I don't answer calls from toll free #s!

Just got a call from some Arabic guy named Sushil?? and he asked for my soon to be mother in law. When I told him that she wasn't home he asked me to take his number and to have her call him back. I could barely understand  him I made him repeat himself so many times I think I got him mad but.  He gave me the number 8663603992. Then gave me his name told me he was from some Mitchel N K Law office.  Then gave me a eight digit reference number. I don't know how this guy would have gotten her number because we don't live any where near an 866 area code!! After reading all these other posts I am NOT telling her to call this number back.

My wife received a call from Sandit for the Law Offices of Mitchell N Kaye - wanted to speak with my mother-in-law (deceased 5 years) said address was 710 Plaza in NY zip 90001 she told him that was not a New York zip code - he went on to say he needed to speak with her - said put your request in writing - they said no - she asked him what kind of attorney doesn't understand the importance of putting requests in writing told him not to call again and hung up.

I rec'd a phone call from these people on a past due debt.  Should I respond or ignore them?  Mitchell & Kaye Law Firm

They called me as well.  Take a few minutes and deep breaths to get it settled.  They called my moms house, which I havent lived there in 10 years.  They said I owed for Direct TV, which I never had.  They asked for the last 4 of my SS, which I gave them, and confirmed that it was not me they were looking for.  My number is now deactivated from their system.  They were not rude and I should not hear from them again.  I am assuming someone with the same name in my area owes money and they "Google" my name and call all of the numbers in hopes to find the right person.

Same story here. Said they were looking for me.. no local number, no address where there office could be verified. Kept asking me to verify info like my address, social, etc. ... Sounds like a scam. I don't have any past due bills.... beware!

Same story here. They called me asking for my brother who is living overseas and came to visited me many times. I have no idea from where they get my number. They said they are the law offices of mitchel n kay. It sound something wearied to me, then I give them my address and I asked them to send me anything to my address. Thank God I Google the number and I found that.

I was received call from this office asking my full name and my last 4 SSN, I give her my name and last 4 my SSN then I concern this is scam call then I hang up. don't know what happen later to my SSN or my bank account. Please help.
What can I do with this?

Just because "law" is in their name, don't assume they are attorneys or that you are obligated to them. They are a collection agency that uses underhanded means to get information about the people they want to get money from. And they have a bad rep for not honoring people's requests or following FTC guidelines. If they contact you, they are supposed to contact you in writing within a few weeks also. You should be able to tell what they want from the letter. Haven't sent anything to my address so I just block every number they call from after they leave a message.

Just got one of these calls, didn't answer, googled the number, and this site came up, thank goodness. This is one of the very positive aspects of the Internet.

I don't get calls from this number often, but I know it is in fact a collections agency.

I just pay these things when I can do so without cutting in to food, immediate bills, etc. That's my take on it.

I have been receiving calls from this number for months asking for someone I have never heard of. The call back number is different from the number that calls.  Finally call both numbers back this week and told them not to EVER call me again.  Well, that didn't work.  They called me again yesterday, so I called them back and informed them that I didn't care what law firm they were calling from, I didn't know the person they were trying to reach and to remove my number from their data base.  I informed them they were harassing me and if they called again I was going to have 1 of the 6 attorneys in my family handle the situation.  The guy hung up the phone.  Guess we will see if that works.
