- pnr| 3 repliescalled sister said she had a summonds for her on the way for information
about an account that was applied for on line in which she was put down as refference.and wanted information about peiole on the account - DB| 1 replyCalled my job and talked to a co worker then asked for me. Told me he has a summons to serve on me in 24 hours. Claimed to not know who it is from but told me to call a number & get it fixed and if they didn't drop it I needed to make myself available so he can serve me. Then hung up the phone.
- Lisa replies to DBI was called by a process server who said he had a summons come across his fax machine for me. He was giving me a courtesy call and told me to call this number to figure out what was going on. He also told me to call the other person on the summons who just so happened to be my husbands ex-wife. He told me that he would pretend that the phone call never happened then hung up. I called the number he gave me and they said they couldn't give me any info and if anyone showed up and wanted me to sign something I should refuse and call them back. VERY WEIRD!!!

- TR| 2 repliesGot a call from a PRIVATE number on cell phone. He left a message saying that he was a process server, and that he had had a summons come across his fax with my name and address, and that I needed to make myself available the next day in order to be served. Said he would be in my 'geographic region'. He left a number from my 'docket' and a 'case number' if I wanted to try to see what it was about. I called, and was handed off to someone who put on a big production about 'they aren't supposed to give you any info' 'if you haven't signed anything I may be able to help you'. Then he would (where I could hear his side of the conversation) "talk" to someone to see if he was allowed to help me. Of course he could, and I could save attorney's fees etc if I agreed to give them a debit card number for the second and third payments. The first, I could moneygram. I gave them a couple of numbers, then thought HELL no, and hung up. Seems that they (WNYC) are a third party collector for Payday Loans Yes. I tried to contact Payday L's and they gave me a number to call to take care of the debt. I didn't even remember the debt, and haven't seen anything in the mail, or this would have been taken care of months ago! But these guys.....not sure I want to support them.

- Maui replies to TR| 1 replyDid u get served?
- TR replies to MauiNo, I did not get served. I was home the entire day waiting, just in case.
- tired of itI also got a call identical to the rest of these posts. The caller referenced my uncle and wanted me to be available to be contacted tomorrow.
I can't wait for him to call back because I'm going to tell him that I will come to him and see how much he squirms and tries to tell me why that won't be possible. I'm going to let him have it at that point! I'm sick and tired of people trying to get money out of me that I have nothing to do with!

- jrlTechincally, if you owe them money, they can do whatever they like to you. I google searched them and came up to their website. As long as they have proof that they bought your debt, and you owe them money, who is the bad guy in that situation?
- mac207I am currently getting the same calls from this "person" claiming to be in my area to serve me with papers. They sent a fax through my work. I have not called them at this time. Wondering if I should bother after reading the above comments. Also called my daughter & claims to have her and my dad "on the case". "I need to call to remove them".

- RB43040I received a call from a friend of mine that someone claiming to have a summons to serve me with, was trying to get in contact with me. He was confused by the fact that the only contact number he had for me was a friend's, who is not even in the same area as I am. I have no clue as to why someone would be trying to serve me a summons, but I'm glad I researched the number here, online. It'll will be interesting come Monday, to see if anyone even shows up, but in any event, nothing will be signed and the "delivery" of any alleged paperwork or summons, will be refused if I'm not fully aware of it's origin prior to signing. I'll keep you posted...

- ar 1982| 1 replyI got the same call. From a server. I calld the number and a guy who helped me out.. Cleared the air about a summons. I did in fact owe the debt. So I paid what I owed and called it a day. Maybe if every1 paid there bills and stop tryin to scam the system. You wouldn't have to worry bout someone tryin to scam you... I took a loan out. And its only right I pay the bill.

- ABCGot a call from this number saying my friend had a summons and they were checking to see if i had another number for her. I called them back and the guy that answered the phone acted like he had no idea what i was talking about and i should call my local sheriffs office. Then 5 minutes later they called me again and said that not only her name on the summonds mine was too. I called the sheriffs office and there is no summonds with my name or hers. This is totally a scam.
