- Mel| 1 replyCalling as an investigator
- Steve| 1 replyDavid Mathews?
- mickI got a call from an Investigator David Matthews claiming I wrote a check for $1,000 that bounced and if I don't call him back, the sherriff's department is coming to get me. Of course I call the number back and get no answer. He called two weeks ago with a different story about some company getting ready to sue me for defraud. He Needs to get his story straight. I'm not worried because my checks are not rubbery.
- PatCalled my moms cell phone to tell her there is a case against me from the sherriffs department but didnt say what the case was for. Thank you David Matthews

- sandy| 11 repliesRecvd call from "TAG", 866-369-7991. "Not a 3rd party collection agency". A pushy woman harassed me about a check that I supposedly wrote in 2009. She talked non-stop for 10 min and did so in a rushed manner. She had my bank routing and account number, address, SS# (last 4 digits) and an old email address that I haven't had for 10 years. I finally interrupted and asked for more information. She then provided me with the same information that she had already given me. When I said, "Okay, that is not what I asked for, I need XXX" she became almost hostile. She constantly informed me that the call was being recorded. After having to interrupt her for a 4th time, I told her that I was not paying anything and told her goodbye. Pushy woman tried to keep me on the phone. I hung up.

- Tony replies to sandy| 4 repliesSomeone just called with me the same line, it's a scam. I hung up the phone.
- lisaGetting messages daily to call this number, when I do call, they hang up or don't answer
- John replies to Tony| 3 repliesGot a call from this no on Friday. It was a recorded message and said the same thing about mitigating debt, etc. should we notify the attorney general about this?
- CWG40 replies to John| 2 repliesJust because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:
1. Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2. Demand a debt validation letter by US mail. E-mail no good.
3. Do not pay the collection agent or anyone else a DIME until the debt is validated.
Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.
If they are bothering you,
Report them:
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection
Also contact your local attorney general
If they continue to bother you, and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion. You might have to yell at the scammer and talk over him or her. Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved. Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now. If you can find them. - ashley| 1 replyA Walter from an Unknown number called me about an "ungoing investigation" and "possible summons". 866-369-7991 ext 338. - KAREN CLARK| 9 repliesThis woman called me and said I owed money from back 2010, it was supposed to be payday loans,, I don't remember this . she knew my bank name. she said she knew my SS# and knew where I worked, and said she would garnish wages if I didn't take care of this,
- Caller: TAG
- Call type: Debt collector
- MJG replies to KAREN CLARK| 5 repliesA debt collector CAN NOT garnish wages. That is done by court order. Demand WRITTEN proof of the "debt" that is MAILED to you. Do not accept any excuses on this. Phone calls are NOT official notification.
- roloWow, that lady is really pushy. She called me telling me my wife owes $870 to a payday loan and they are acting as the third party collection agency. She had the last 4 of her SSN and the wrong address, she really wanted me to make payment arrangements over the phone and when I asked for documentation she got upset and very aggressive. She sounded black and ghetto, sorry.

- slp replies to sandyDon't bother to engage these people in conversation. I first received a call from 866-460-7833 from a woman from an undisclosed agency saying I have a case against me....over a week has passed and now the same voice calls from 866-369-7991 repeating the claim. If this is such an important and urgent case then why are they not mailing me something with a court case attached to it? HUGE SCAM
- jkpComplete scam artists. Have been receiving calls from 866-369-7991 for weeks at work, cell phone, and today at home. Left 2 messages about full case review, mitigation, etc. Finally called back today since they called my house. They do have a ton of information on me., which is worrisome. Said that I walked into a brick and mortar building (company Kingston Marketing LLC) and took out a payday loan in Oct 2009 & was deposited into an acct that had been closed years before that. Said I owed $740 and they are trying to reach a settlement since I refused to pay. Tried to explain that the account had been closed years before that, and that what she claims isn't possible because I have done no such thing, but she didn't care. Threatened to call my place of employment, also that they were going to refer this to a 3rd party & go to court. I have received no official debt confirmation to my home since they started calling, also asked for official documentation per the Fair Credit and she gave me attitude. They have no legal ground to stand on, so they can keep calling and threatening all they want. I hung up on her when I told her I had enough of her threats and I knew this was a scam. Please do not fall for this.

- NLH| 1 replyReceived a call from this # today. No vmail or anything. Looks like these people go off the grid for a while then start right back up. Must be someone needing a job so they do this for a living. Sorry that this "job" is not on the up and up. Blocked their # on my cell with Mr. Number app.
- NLH Continued replies to NLHTitan Alliance Group is the name of the company behind all of this as they did leave a voicemail and I called back just to see what they had to say. I asked Jennifer Jefferson for a validation notice and instantly she became hostile and refused to tell me anything more. I requested to speak to her supervisor Tenisha. Said I had taken out a loan on 6/24/10 and I needed to pay $ 950. I told her that it funny since my state law is $425 is the most you can get for a payday loan. Instantly she became hostile and asked if I was an attorney or worked with payday loans. I told her that I was knowledgeable. I told her that this is all bogus since I googled their # and read all about them. She told me that I needed to get an attorney and they would move forward with their client for mitigation. She was very rude wouldn't let me get a word in. I told her I would be contacting my police department. I have filed a consumer complaint with my Attorney General since they stated this is attached to my social security # and supposedly have my account #.
