Heavily accented voice claimed to be from some company called "Extel Services", that he was conducting some kind of research and needed to speak with someone in our marketing or sales department. I explained that no one in our company has time to take a survey and he launched into his schpeel...I hung up on him.

He called back but it only rang once.  Probably accidentally called our number again because he is probably working from a long list of numbers.

When are solicitors going to figure out that these tactics WILL NOT get them access to their demographic client base?  Geez!  If it's a service we need, WE WILL FIND YOU!  Telemarketers need to disappear.  Forever!

Asked to speak to "office manager"  when asked who was calling, they just repeated request.  This went on until I ended the call.  They then rang straight back!  Needless to say, I ended the call without speaking!

Still have no idea what this is about.

Rang 1: Clearly not a call I wanted to answer so I picked up the phone and hung it up right away.

Rang 2nd time immediately. This time I answered.  Some guy asked for me by name. I asked him who was calling and he said (foreign accent, of course) that he was calling from...sounded like ExTiva ??  I asked him to repeat and it again sounded like ExTiva.  Never heard of them.  I hung up.

He called several times my manager´s direct line number. When I picked up the phone, he said he wanted to speak with my manager (he even knew his name). Told him that he is in meetings all afternoon. No problem, he would call later. I insisted on a name, he said "David Johnson". I insisted on a company, he said "Ernst & Young". Yeah, you bet! So when I looked up the number, I saw it flagged. Next time, I will just hang up on him.

Pesky repetitive calls, never leaves voicemail.  I don't pick up on the 866 numbers so if it's important they can leave a message.  Number has called at least 12 times in the last two business days.

Received phone calls twice - 1st - Conducted survey based on IBM, Huawei teaming. It was a brief survey and seemed reasonable. I completed it since we are an IBM Business Partner and thought it was a usual IBM survey.

2nd - Received call from the same number. Some guy claimed he has business in US and wanted to find out if we reselle Huawei products. I said NO, but mentioned the survey call. And he asked whether it was true that IBM has acquired Huawei and I replied I am not sure. But the survey said so. I googled immediately and the news was true. Anyway, he mentioned that his company receives [***] survey's like that too and hung up.

Still not sure what they wanted.

I started getting calls from this number after I signed up to be a part of the e-Miles survey program. I didn't put two and two together until my friend had the same thing happen to her after she signed up. The time in between when I signed up and her doing so was 5 months yet we both start getting calls from this same number within  a month of signing up for e-Miles...fishy as heck. I'd been a member of another survey programs for 4 years and never got these types of calls. The calls from this number is a telemarketing group trying to sell stuff based on your preferences and choices made in e-Miles. I complained and e-Miles stated they didn't sell my contact info but it's too much of a coincedence this happened to me within a month after signing up and 5 months later the same thing happened to my friend.

Static-y call, took several seconds for someone to speak. Call center background noise, accented speaker.

May I please speak to Mary? (No last name. Points for politeness.)
      Mary?
      Yes, Mary.
      There is no Mary here.
Then may I please speak to the manager?
      No.
      (Silence.)
Well, no problem then. (Call ends.)

    Well hey, that was fun.

called to talk about a survey. I didn't quite undrstand tthough, but the caller asked questions that bothers on  age bracket, traveling e.g how many times i have traveled in the past one year by air, wether it was domestic or international, what i feel when i travel by air and hung up after a while. This is the second time this guy is calling. I just hope they are not impersonating with these information.

I got a call from 866-370-9374. The person said he is calling from an airline company. He wanted to know details of my international travels. Could this be a scam?

Calls from toll-free numbers are ignored. The caller did not leave a message, so it must have been unimportant.

Claimed to be calling on behalf of HP. Asked a lot of questions about our supply chain. Offered a $50.00 gift certificate if I took the survey. Doubt that HP would do this. Refused to continue survey after checking number on this forum. Do not beleive this to be a legitimate HP associate.
