setting the phone to ignore unknown callers isn't working on this one.

call blocking won't stop the calls

I'm receiving almost daily calls from these types of telephone numbers alerting me that the warranty will soon expire on one of my vehicles.  The telephone recording ask me enter #1 if I want to speak with a person concerning me not letting this warranty expire.  I have on several occassions entered #1 and when an operator/sales person answers I ask them which one of my vehicles is the warranty going to expire on.  
They try to get me to tell them what vehicles I own and I always say, "If you know which vehicle the warranty is going to expire on then why are you asking me to tell you what vehicles I have"?.  They always hang up at this point with me screaming into the telephone that I am on the no call listing and for them not to call me again.  I thought if a person had their telephone numbers listed on the no call listing then that would prevent these type of companies from calling.  No way!  They continue to call daily.  I've submitted these numbers to donotcall.gov and other agencies but that does not seem to prevent them from calling.  What is the purpose of having the do not call listing if nothing can be done to prevent these nuts from calling every day?  Anyone, please let me know if you know a solutin to this problem.

WHen they called & didn't leave message on answer machine, it was so noisy in the background that you could heal tons of other solicitors talking on phones in the background.

For daily phone calls from the same company, you must answer phone & talk to someone & tell them to quit calling.  If they still continue, contact your local police dept (like I done) & tell them what's going on & how many time this phone number calls, date, time, & when you told them to stop calling & how many time if you've told more than once.
They will then come out to your home to take a report & tap your phone to trace the actual call & put out charges against the company for phone harrasement.

I just got the call today as well. 5/28/2009.  They left no message on my phone.

Got this call. They left a VM, but it was only background noise.

Received call at work.  She couldn't hear me, kept saying HELLO.  She finally asked if this was (a former co-worker).  Told her no, it was (name of business).  She said sorry, wrong number & hung up.

I saw 866-374-4849 and let it ring.  They did not leave a number.  The solisitors must make a commission on how much they sell.

Message left on answering machine, several seconds of background noise, then a man's voice saying "Man, this is pissing me off ... pissing me off." then he hung up. No useful information, just obscenity on my answering machine.

I saw the number and answered "Morgue"   they still asked for me by name.   I kept repeating that this was the MORGUE....they just did not get it!

I received a call from this number twice today (once at 1PM and another at 6PM). I only give my cell number to family/friends. 1-800 numbers need to give up.

But it depends on what you would like done to the company that keeps harassing like that!

I received this same number again. I guess they don't give up.

Caller ID said Texas Call.Got the call and the very nice sounding young (but persistent) salesman asked if I were a certain person (who had my phone number before I did) and I told him no. But noooo...that didn't stop him from his high-pressured sales pitch for a Carnival cruise and/or a vacation to Branson. He asked what happened to the fun-loving couple who had my number before I did since he'd dealt with them before and I said I didn't know them, but they evidently owed a lot of people a lot of money since so many bill collectors have been calling for them and they must have had more fun than they should have. He commenced to tell me about what he was pitching. Told him my husband had been sick, but that still didn't stop him. Told him I just wasn't interested and nothing he had to say would change my mind (probably shouldn't have challenged a high-pressure salesman like that) and he just kept it up, asking me if I didn't think Branson would be fun, so I thought I'd have some fun with him since I had some time to kill, to see just how far he'd go with the pressure. Told him I didn't like country music so he said there is other entertainment there (to which I said I lied when I said I didn't like country music because he and I both have Texas accents, so that's a given). Told him I didn't like being on the ocean and he said you don't get seasick on those big ships. Told him I was afraid the ship might be attacked by Somalian pirates and he (laughing a lot by this time) said that was unlikely. Told him I was afraid of catching the Norwalk virus on the ship and he said that's old news and besides they have onboard medical staff to deal with it. He went on to describe the good cruise ship food (which by the way was supposed to be free), so I told him that my husband and I can't eat rich foods. He said there would be healthier food too, to which I said how much fun could that be to watch everyone else stuff their faces while we couldn't?
I asked how could so much of what he was offering be free, was it like what Obama offers and then someone else has to end up paying for it and I said I could debate him on politics all day if he wanted to which he quickly changed the subject. Said it would only cost me $250 or so and when I said I can't afford that, he asked if I couldn't take $25 a week out of my budget and I said I need that for my husband's medication. He asked wouldn't I take money like that out to have my lawn mowed or something and I said heck my grass is so high, my lawn is like a jungle because I can't even afford that! I was growing tired of him by then, so I said my husband was too sick to travel and then he said, well then take some friends or family (how cruel!). Told him all my family was dead and I had no friends. Then he laughed and said I was just trying to make him feel guilty, which I was. Then I heard a lot of applause in the background in his busy telemarketer place, so I asked if someone had just made a good sell and he laughed and said, "Oh no, people are just loud here." (sure, I'll bet).  I finally told him that I was dead broke and there was no use in continuing because we were just arguing at that point and he said he gives up, anyway but it was fun trying. I admit I kind of had fun, too.
    So sometimes, those salespeople can be fun to talk to (if you get the right one). I guess they have to make a living, but usually I don't have as much time or just don't feel like talking to them, But it's fun to mess with them, whether it's joking with them or putting them in their place.
