- gerry| 2 repliesI received a call from this number. They didn’t leave a message. It might be a collection agency.
- jackiecalled several times, left no message on answering machine the first couple of times and hung up before the answering machine picked up the second couple of times.
- mindleakThis is a collection company. I've been getting calls from them every couple hours for like the past week because someone gave them the wrong number on purpose or by mistake. They left a message once, but I couldn't make out the name of the company due to the thick accent of the lady. I could just answer the phone and say they've got the wrong number but I'm too lazy for that. :P
- Call type: Debt collector
- RaphaelThey call and call and hang up.
- Caller: Unknown
- MI think mindleak is joking about his/her "wrong number" thing...how could s/he know the company has the wrong number if s/he never picked up the phone?
Anyway, I get a couple of calls from this number a few times a week. Not sure what they want, but I'm sure it's a collection agency. - EEThis people have called me 15 times since 11/29 to the date (12/5/07). I recently checked my credit just in case if someone has used my SS or by mistake anything wrong has been reported to the credit bureau. My credit is fine and there is no reason for this people calling home 3 and 4 times a day. I pay my debts on time and I am sure they got my phone number looking for someone with the same name because I had that experience from some collection agency looking for someone who owed a Gap account. I never had a Gap Credit Card. I just reported the toll free number 866-385-0229 to the FCC with a detailed list of dates and time of their annoying calls.
If you have the same problem just report the unknown calls to the Federal Communications Commission. http://www.fcc.gov/- Caller: unknown
- Millie| 2 repliesThis phone number 8663850229 keep calling to my house looking for a Britney White, and they always hear my last name on my answer machine that it doesn't match what their looking for, and they keep bugging us.
It is annoying... I called them back again so they know for sure that we want to stop this... so We don't know what to do.... - caliche replies to Millie| 1 replyEvery time they call you just call them back 10 times for each call. Don't allow them to talk just repeat "do not call me anymore" and you will see that they won't call you anymore. Annoy them the same way they do with people. They do not listen, they do not understand they just keep calling people 3, 4 and sometimes 5 times every single day.
- caliche replies to calicheIf this doesn't work just report them with the Federal Trade Commission http://www.ftc.gov/. They use abusive collection practices.I already reported them with the FTC. They want to collect money over the phone without sending you a letter or notification of your debt or without knowing for sure you are the person they are looking for.
- Walker| 1 replyThey call about 6 times every day...starting at 8:10 am..if you answer, there are lots of people talking probably many operators...it takes time for someone to talk to you so you usually just hang up. Please make them stop.

- annoyed at callsThis number calls for a Christina Walden. We've told several people in the company that we do not know her, and never have, but they keep persisiting. It's weird because we have no idea who Christina Walden is. They've been calling for nearly a year, and at least once every two days.

- EliThis number called my business phone line, when I answered there was no response and they hung up on me. I called back and they answered the phone as "Alliance One" when I asked if it was a collection agency they responded "we are a financial institution." I am assuming they are trying to collect a debt. The lady asked for my number, reluctantly gave it to her and when I did she said they are trying to get a hold of Evan Thompson. I told her no one by that name here and this is a new business phone #. I was then told that they will take my number off thier records, and that they were sorry they disturbed me. I guess we will see what happens.

- JayI received another call from this number today,
at 11:03am,2/3/08. This is the 3rd or 4th call
I have received in the same amount of days.
It is a female voice, sounds Hispanic, says
she is calling from Alliance1. Must be a collection
agency, the person she is calling for, does not
live at my number, matter of fact I don't even
know the person! However this lady keeps calling
daily and harassing me. I have worked in credit
before, and I do know you are not supposed to call
anyone on a Sunday or Holiday trying to collect
a bill. Can't anything be done about this????- Caller: TOLLFREE NUMBER

- CooperstownWe've been getting calls from this number too. They're asking for a Sheena Long. We've had rashes of calls from people looking for her periodically before, and if I can tell them that "we've had this phone number for X-length of time and there is no one by this name in our home and we do not know who she is" then the calls let up for a while. This week they started again. These people do not leave a message on the answering machine, so I wasn't sure what was up until they called this evening while I was home. I told the woman I thought she had the wrong number and she said, "Oh no I don't have the wrong number. I've called this number before and talked to Sheena Long." I thought that would be a neat trick because we've had this number for over six years and no one by this name lives here and we do not know who this person is. I told the caller this, and it's pretty much the same thing I've told callers looking for this woman before. I think I'm going to use that letter that Alfalfa posted (Thanks Alfalfa!)

- Zanny BoyI've started getting calls from them also.
I think it's very enlightening that two people (above) with different usernames and different writing styles (so they are likely to be two different people) said that the caller asked for a Britney White. Neither person had heard of Britney White. The odds that two different people would receive legitimate calls asking for the same name, and then post here in this thread, are probably pretty close to the odds of winning the lottery.
Consider the possibility that someone asking for "Britney White" (or any other random name) is a ruse to see whether your phone number is valid, whether you are usually home at that hour, whether you will give them oral or written information that can be used against you; etc. - slimNobody responds and they do not leave a message when I'm unable to answer. They call 7 days a week and sometimes twice a day. This is very upsetting and how do I get them to stop calling.
- tji got several calls from this number each day and ask for a Mrs. Shannon - I had my pphone number for over 11 years & I told them to quit calling, I don't know anybody by that name & to take my name off & they still keep calling; I work odd hours & this was - pardon my fench - BUT THIS REALLY PISSING ME OFF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WANT THIS TO STOP
