- alpVery suspicious automated message that when I called back the number, another automated answer wanted me to submit my social security number and zip code in order to verify recent credit card transations that they say they were suspicious of.

- dt| 1 replySame Story. Very professional voice.
- dt replies to dtI happened to call the phone number on my credit card and they did ask me about a transaction that was not mine. He could not verify that the number was their's but it might not hurt to call your credit card company directly.
- JLSame story as above--deeply sketchy automated call asking to verify recent transactions on my credit card. Calling back, they asked me to enter four digits from my SS#, which failed. They then requested that I enter my full SS# and zip code. I hung up and called the number on my card directly. Similar phone tree, and the four-digits from my SS# similarly failed. They requested that I enter my full SS# and zip code, and I stayed silent on the line. An operator picked up.
They had called me about suspicious activity, so it appears reasonably genuine. In the future, however, I'll still use their automated call as an opportunity to call them directly. If they can't fix their system to prevent me from entering my full social security number, I can't really trust them. (Yay for mutual skepticism!)- Caller: Barclay formerly Juniper Bank
- MSI got the same weird message. I called the number on my credit card, and there had been some fraudulent activity. Definitely call your company to make sure!
- asChecked my voicemail at home today and there is a message from Emigrant Direct requesting a callback on 866-390-3441. Asked for last 4 digits of SSN and mother's maiden name. The rep said there was a $400+ request on my spouse's card and the rep was able to tell me my spouse's name.
Then I found this website! I called back the customer service number on www.juniper.com. They were able to tell me the same thing. They will now decline the charges.- Call type: Unwanted
- FRAUD ANALYSTI work in the Fraud Dept for a "banking company". We service several different types of cards. We detect & contact the customer to verify the card is in their possession, and the charges are valid. This company does the same kind of thing. I know because I just contacted them, on behalf of a customer, to find out who they are. The particular card they held for MY customer is U.S. Airways...and there IS fraud on it. So, don't always assume the worst when you get a call like this.

- msfSame call, same automated question, but it was legit. I had to punch in the last four of my SSN, and then I was asked about a charge I had made that day. I was suspicious at first, then impressed that my purchase had flagged somebody at the credit card office.

- worried in COJust got a call (blocked from caller ID) said to call the same 866-390-3441 about potential fraud on my Frontier Airlines CC.
I didn't call that number but rather the number listed on the website for the credit card company.
I have no hold on my account as the message stated and no fraud on my account noted.
I still cancelled the card.- Caller: said Frontier Airlines CC fraud dept
- frontier cardholder| 1 replyyes it's legit. i got a call from them once before asking to call back on this number. the original call came through with no caller id, however.
asked for my last 4 digits of my SSN and then to verify a charge i made last night.
had no problems at all!- Call type: Unwanted
- C Hartz replies to frontier cardholderI called the number on the back of my card, who verified that they do use the practice of having automated calls asking for a soc sec # to verify. I was shocked and asked to speak to a manager, who put me on hold to call the number in question. She is going to speak to someone in a different dept. as I assume she found this odd too. Most fraud departments tell you not to give out your social sec#, this company currently wants you to type it in to anyone who asks?!?
- cpMy wife and I received a call from this number. We did not call the number back, but did call our individual cards, and YES, this was legit. I did have fradualent activity on one of my cards.
- AnonomouseSame crap--enter last 4 numbers, then enter the whole ss, and oh yeah, when you enter 'o's they hang up or you, or say a long delay. LIARS! Scams, cons should be in prison.

- suspiciousI got a call from this number and they asked for my ENTIRE SS#. I hung up and called the Customer Service Number on the back of my card. And, yes, they asked for my SS# and zip code also - but they did answer the phone with the correct company name instead of a generic name. I did not have fraudulent activity but I had used my card out of state on a business trip and they said a "watch" had been put on it because of that which makes no sense since I travel all the time. Anyway, they did list for my, my last 8 purchases and they were correct so I'm sure this was legit.
- lmgI got a msg on my voice mail that sounded funny, when I called the 866 number back they wanted my social security num and zip code.
- Caller: Barclays
- mi5keyGot a call from this number, voicemail cut off first part of message but it mentioned Barclay Cards. I called the number the message indicated but they wanted my acct # or soc #. I hung up and dialed the number on the back of my Juniper credit card and it was them. I entered my acct # and they listed the possible charges. Legit, but kind of suspicious at first.
- Caller: Barclays/Juniper
- BeagleTurns out this IS a legitimate call from Barclays Bank Security Dept trying to verify recent suspicious activity on your credit card. They're crazy for asking you to enter a full SS# but they're doing it to save money so you don't have to speak to a HUMAN.
Call the # on the back of your credit card.- Caller: BarclaysBank

- ClarenceSame as above. I received an automated call telling me about suspicious activity on my card and asking me for my SSN and/or account number. I looked on the Juniper website for the number that the call was placed from and could not find it. I checked my account activity to see if there were any supsicious charges. I felt uneasy entering my SSN and account# on an automated call from an unknown number, so I finally called the phone number on my card and it turned out to be legitimate. I verified that I was in possesion of my card and that the transaction was authorized and that was it. Very supsicious call, but I also recommend calling the number on your card just to be safe.
- Caller: Barclays
- Radio DudeI got a call from this automated, I checked my online account right away and nothing was showing up. They had said in the phone call that their was unusal activity on my account. When I got into work, I called the number on the back of my card and discovered there were some charges they were not sure of. Turns out that resturant charged my account the wrong amount and tried to correct it. Always call the number on your card, not what someone leaves you.

- ndabunkaThis is NOW the number to a marketing company who is trying to recruit new "subscribers" for a Travel Agency called Luxury Travel Promotions. Apparently it suppose to be some type of "buying club" where you pay a "membership fee" and then you get the ability to (supposedly) buy cheaper-than-market vacation deals. The flyer that comes in the mail is already VERY fishy as it looks more like a W-2 or other legal document. In fact, I think it actually said something like OFFICIAL DOCUMENT in big bold letters but then in itty-bitty tiny print it did verify that it is not in ANY way a "government" document... LOL
It's just BLATANT advertising I guess. Anyway, I called from a business # and kept the guy on the line asking questions to burn up his time and to learn more. The guy was fairly forthcoming with general aspects but of course whenever I would say I am not interested would state "But don't you want the free airline tickets"? I thought about pushing further to see what the deal was but figured 10 minutes of my time was all I was willing to burn.- Caller: Luxury Travel Promotions
