Called both my home phone and my work cell phone in a matter of minutes. gave me some strange operator number and then asked if I knew about 971 series relay? When I asked what they wanted, I received an answer back saying they did not have data on that at this time and did I know about 971 series relay.
Weird that they would call my home phone and then my work cell phone within 2 minutes.
called my teenage daughters cell phone , she could hear man's voice speaking to an operator who was texting on computer. no identifying at all. This happened in evening. Daughters boyfriend called number back and it answered as Federal prison.
Also got this scam, the operator asked if we carried Dom Perignon and Crystal. I said NOOOOOOOOOOO as this is likely some scam to get me to hand merchandise to some one from a shipping company for funds that will never show up.
Called me through internet relay service. had been emailing using the email address mikegary01@gmail.com wanted to order a total of 600 ngk spark plugs through my performance shop. i charged his card once for the first 100 and it cleared but that many spark plugs is fishy. beware
This is the number for the relay operator, which means a deaf person is trying to place a call to a hearing person. If you don't know a deaf person, then they might have written the number down wrong or something like that.
This is a relay service (a company that places telephone calls for the deaf). The operator will identify him/herself first by reading off some information about the relay service and then stating their operator ID number. After that, they are just reading whatever is being typed by the hearing impaired person who asked for the call to be placed. You can give your response to the operator who will then type what you say and send it back to that individual. Hope that helps!
this number is actually pretty much the voice of any deaf or mute person wanting to call someone. they're pretty much a middle man for the deaf when it comes to phones. i know this because i know someone who called me from that number. so there is no scam. thought i'd clear that up
some relay calls are scams....we got them at work trying to order mdse. with bad credit cards....better watch out if they want to buy something using a credit card.......experience talking. Since you can't talk with them, and you put in their order by computer then run the credit card, especially after mdse. has been shipped, it usually turns out to be your loss....not a good credit card number and mdse. has already been shipped.
They called my phone 6 times starting at 430 deff. a scam because idk any deaf people let alone everyone I know knows better to call that early... anything we can do?
neal_buck009@yahoo.com this is the email adress that he gave and he does respond to it.....BEWARE SPAM SCAM..I have credit card numbers he used someone needs to figure out a way to SCAM him so he cant get his money stopped and the scam would be on him
We're a restaurant and this number called us trying to order 200 chicken marsalas for a date 10 days later with a credit card. We didn't fall for the scam, but I was unable to call the customer service number of the original number. 1-866-367-3103
Boston: Same thing $1700.00 worth of Sushi and then give the driver $650.00 cash when he shows. contacted boyh Mass. State Police and Boston and Canon City Co. witch there is a web sit telling you to do so! Watch out and good luck. "Let's get these bad guys and put them away"
Someone is attempting to scam us at our restaurant too for a huge order, where they wanted us to charge huge amounts extra on a card for a 'driver'. As if small business owners aren't suffering enough in this economy! Thanks for the heads up with this post. San Diego
this dan just called my bbq place trying to place a order for three hundred barbque plates well over three thousands dollars when isaid it was a scam and that iwould call the police and report this he hung up dont fall for it copperhill tn.
This is an internet relay service for the deaf. It is a legitimate company, but people are able to use it for prank calls because they don't identify the caller. I receive them everyday from a woman. I know who she is but can't prove it.
gotten two calls from these people, the first was to place an order for 500 hamburgers to go, not something i do, but i was aware of a similar call to my friends bakery that want a wedding cake for 800 people two days before the wedding, since they offer to pay via credit card i it is some sort of credit card scam
