I got a message on my voicemail from 866-394-4503 saying I was used as a reference for a personal friend of mine who I know has used me as a reference on job applications in the past. They even left a reference # for when I called back. Thinking nothing of it, I called them back and was met with a prerecorded notification that "This call may be recorded for accuracy." The person who picked up then very quickly said the name "Pioneer Credit Agency" and asked for my reference number. I gave it and they identified my friend's name. They then said they were having trouble reaching him, and (still thinking this was about a job application) I proceeded to give them his current home and cell phone numbers, as well as where he was currently working. Then the person I was speaking to said that if they were unable to reach my friend if it would be okay if they called me back. It was at this point I thought it very odd for a job reference. After getting off the phone I looked up the phone number, to discover it was some credit agency/debt collection company. I feel incredibly stupid for giving them any information about my friend, and would really like to know how they got my phone number in the first place. These bottom feeders use deceptive tactics to further their own ends and should not be trusted.

A person named Cathy Tracey called several times a phone number where I work (I work for the Board of County Commissioners) and  left voicemail messages saying that it is a personal confidential call to me, then proceeds to say they're calling in an attempt to collect a debt.  She leaves the #866-394-4503 as a call back number.  The phone number here that she is calling is NOT PRIVATE and voicemail can be accessed by numerous employees other than myself.  She must cease calling this number, as she is leaviing messages that contain private and personal information. It is not work related, which is what the phone system is excusively intended for, and contracted by the Board of County Commissioners.

This is a fraud they call from 1-866-394-4503- and leave the name Cathy Tracey and are looking for personal information.  Do not give them anything!!

A woman left me a voice mail asking to call back at 866-394-4503.  The connection was terrible and I had to replay the message three times in order to hear that her name was Cathy.  I never called back and neither did they.  Also, the same type of scam happened today with a woman named "Tammy" at 1-855-394-4503.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION.  HANG UP!

I apologize, the other phone number that tried to scam me was 855-789-4969.

They (Pioneer Credit Recovery, Michele Davis, 866-394-4503) tried to get me to give personal information on a friend, under the guise that she had put me down as a reference to something. After a little prodding, they fessed up that they were a debt collector but would not tell me exactly why they were contacting my friend (or me). They kept requesting her phone number, but I told them I don't give that info out over the phone. I got their info instead, do not give them any info over the phone.

This person has called at least 3 times claiming they want to verify employment history.  They want me to verify her SSN.  When I ask them what they think it is they give me a number (which I did not verify).  They are calling her work and sould legitimate if you're not paying attention.

Spoofed number. I didn't answer, but they called twice within about 15 minutes, and left a message the second time with this number as a callback, and a reference number. They are phishing for information on someone with the same last name. Presumably Ms. Killa ;-)   I'm not authorized to give information to strangers so I'm going to call back and ask them to contact my information department manager, Helen Waite.... If they want information they can go to Helen Waite! They call regularly from different numbers, also spoofed, which each get blocked. Research shows it is Pioneer Credit Recovery, who is a collection agency for student loans.

What is funny...the ad that appeared on this site (800notes) is for Credit Karma.

So I get a voice message on my cell. With my name as a contact, concerning my ex-wife of 1993. WTF is that about. Unfortunately she is still breathing my air. So, they put me on the "no call" list. I thought it was about my son, who happens to have my name also. Dumb [***].

This number 866-394-4503 is a debt collector.

Calls start as early as 8:11 am and continue until 9:00. Do not answer unknown callers. I read here that is is Pioneer Credit Agency. They have called in the past looking for someone I know. Have repeatedly told them I have no contact information for that person but they continued  to call using  different numbers. Also, told them not to call anymore.

Call to my cell phone.  Did not leave message.

Rejected the call out of hand just a moment ago. Came here and found the info on them. Another loser debt collector added to my block list.

Krystal marinaccio 1866- 394-4503 Pioneer credit recovery incorporated. Called from 607-304-4460 to get in contact with my ex father in laws info. So, I can see that this is scam already. He hates me and would never use me as a reference and he doesn't have my cell number. So why are these guys calling me?

I got a call from this number this morning. They just said they were calling "in reference to E____   _____" (totally butchered the pronunciation of her last name) and could I give a call back at the number provided and gave me a ref ID.  I was really concerned and thought my friend might be missing or something but I figured the police would probably say "this is the police"  not "this is Laurie." The incoming call came from 607 304 4460 - not the number that they instructed me to call back.

Scam. Spoofed number (585)861-6359. Caller left a message similar to ones mentioned on this forum, stating *insert random name* listed you as a reference and to returned the call at 866-394-4503 with reference######... They have been calling me the last 2 days around 6:30 and 8:00pm. This is a scam and they are fishing for information. Do not provide them with any information and report them asap. Please be smart and skeptical of these type of calls. Good luck folks.

Don't feel stupid, they are very dishonest and deceptive. They are also breaking the law by using those sort of business tactics, especially using deception for the purpose of trying reach an individual by means of harassment.
