We have received at least 2 calls a day for over a week now from this number.  The name on the caller id is "unavailable."  We have not answered, and there has been no voice mail left.  However, the caller stays on long enough to leave empty air on the voice mail.  We are on the do not call list.  The most recent call was at 8:15 at night and woke up my kids.

I just had a call from the same number at 7:57 p.m. I have had several calls from this number and when I answer it, they don't say anything and hang up after 5-10 seconds.

Call and hang up for several days. Called number and asks if want to be placed on their "DNC" list.

I called this number back- the message said "We called you earlier today to help you renew your newspaper subscription......if you'd like to add yourself to our DNC press 2."

Started receiving phone calls from this number this morning, they just hang up, no message, stay on line long enough to leave dead air on answering machine.  They have already called three time today and it is only 1pm.  Think it may be Post-Dispatch, since I recently cancelled my subscription.

I've gotten several of these calls too.  I answered this morning and it was from someone wanting me to renew my newspaper service with the Houston Chronicle.  Said the price was going up and I could lock in a lower rate.

I received several calls a day from this number while at work. I called the number back and the automated service indicated that it was a newspaper subscription renewal line. I do not subscribe to the newspaper nor did it indicate which newspaper it was involved with.  The automated service gives you the option to renew your subscription or to be placed on their do not call list. They say that it takes 24-48 hour for the process to work.

I have recently canceled my subscription to the Post-Dispatch, and the calls started around that time. It is 11:00 a.m. and I have received 3 calls from them today.

I called back this number and it was to get me to renew my newspaper subsciption.  It was a recording.

I have been getting calls from this number twice a day for a week. there is no way this is to renew a newspaper subscription because i dont have any of that in my name! There was a rumor going around that calls and messages like this asking to renew any of your information can result in your bank account being emptied! A friend of mine had a similar situation where someone left an automated message and all she did was call the number back, gave no info, and her bank account was scalped!...i also recieved 2 texts from Rockwood bank, with whom i dont have an account and never have, asking to reactivate a card...so BEWARE, in this economy people will scam ANYONE!

I called this number back and it said we want to renew your newspaper subscription. Press 1 to renew, press 2 to have your number taken off the list. I pressed 2, left my name and phone number, and it said it would take 24-48 hours to update. They have continued calling twice a day every day since.

I then called and pressed 1. I left the message pleading to stop calling me.

They never did. I'm going to start calling and pressing 1 and leaving the phone on the counter until I'm able to report them on the do not call list.

they call all the time, I hit 2 and left my number, its a waste of time, they still call with no one on the other end.

We get one call a day from this number and it hangs up upon our answering.

this number calls us constantly and never leaves messages.  just did what people on here suggested and called back, pressed 2, and entered our home number to be put on the DNC list. hopefully this works...

Thank you so much for the post on calling the number back. I have been getting calls 2-3x day for weeks. I finally called back today and got on the DNC list!

frequent calls in the evening---no one answers when we say hello although phone line is open

They called about 15 times from 1-7 December.  At all different hours.  Sometimes morning, sometimes evening.  Multiple times.  Drives me nuts when they wake up my kids since they go to bed early.  They got in contact with my son, who doesn't understand these scams.  About a paper, I guess. Anyways, I don't answer the phone and watch my statements closely.  I keep instructing them do not pick up if you don't know the number!

When I called the number back, a recording said that I was called to help renew my newspaper subscription...(several options later)... Press 2 to be added to teh DNC list.
