I got a call from this number 866-402-4043, his name was Brad Owen, saying that I had a payday max loan out and I never had a payday max loan out.  I need to know if this is a scam to get money out of me or if it's something else?!?!?!

Kept getting recorded messages looking for "Maria" said I needed to call immediately with my legal counsel.  When I called to say they had the wrong number and they needed to stop leaving me messages, the guy was a complete ass.  Told me I was lying, that my caller ID said I was Maria (it doesn't give a name), that I sounded like Maria, and what would I say if he told me he knew I was lying.  Then wanted to start talking about the weather.  I hung up.  Don't know what he wanted but it was slimy.

Just got a recorded message on my cell phone saying "We have made numerous attempts to contact you regarding a very important matter. Some of your personal information is involved. We need either you or your attorney representing you to contact us to resolve this matter." The number came up on my phone as 302-342-9600, but the recording left the number 866-402-4043. Didn't specify who they were calling for. Sounds like a scam to me!

I got the same exact message as you today DAC.  But EVERYTIME they call, they NEVER ask for anyone in particular.  And if you answer and talk to them, they go on trying to extract information from you.

I gave my first name and offered my phone number only.  They told me that I would have to give them my home address, my social security number, hell who knows what else, for them to "Look up what they have on file in the database."

Becareful everyone...I'm not too sure about this one.  And I DO NOT have a payday loan out.  I've never had a payday loan.  Or a deliquent 'loan' for that matter.  

Any company that will call and leave messages and not even ask for Betty Sue, or even a Mr. X, or even a first name I ignore completely.  They are just annoying to hear and have to delete.

I just received a call from these people and the phone # that came up showed a local number. I assume this was to get me to pick up but I dont pick up calls that are unknown to me. Left me one of the same exact messages listed here. Stupid annoy people!!

I called this number after recieving a msg on my phone. They said they did NOT have my number on file, but they had my husbands. Then they hung up while looking for information...right. Then I called back just in case it was an accident. They refused to give me the companys phone number for who hired them. I asked why the pay day loan (that we never took out) wasn't on our credit. Then man yelled at me so loud, my phone speaker was cracking and told me it's not always that way and to never call back again! Unbelievable!

The guy just screamed at me on the phone and told me to never call back again. Oh...and they don't have caller ID or I wouldn't have had to give them my number to see if it was on file.

I just received a message on my voicemail similar to the one described above.  Threatening voice.  No company name, etc.  They said I should reference a file number but then did not provide one.  Oh well.

local number 702-570-9152 called... yes its local but i dont answer all local calls that im not familiar with. They left a message. he said his name was Steven Krcrosis?? and left a 866-402-4043 number to call him back at with a case number??? SCRAM.

I received a msg at work form 866-402-4043....This guy was something else.  David Marshal from M. Calahan and Associates.  He tried saying all kinds of things that were no legal....He refused to send me a letter via mail.  He wanted to fax or eamil...that is not legal...I quoted the FTC and he said that I did not know what I was talking about.  He said I must mean the FTCPA....wtf is the FTCPA?  So I looked it up...its a blog....this guy was an idiot and he was rude, thretening and he talked over me a lot.....

I just got a call as well.  I have dealt with these idiots threatening me for months now.  I have no payday loans, someone sold my info.  They apparently think my address is somewhere I have never even heard of.  I no one I owe money to other than everyday bills adn one credit card that I pay on time every time.  I have called the FBI, FTC, as well as my local police department and filed complaints with everyone.  They suggested to ignore them and eventually they will get tired of it.

This company violates the FDCPA on every call contact me lets turn the table on this company.
Just help someone like you get some money from these people for violating your rights.

just received a call from 314-480-4868, St. Louis MO number.  someone said "this is bill carrigan and your drivers license number or social security number has been compromised, please call 1-866-402-4043 and ask for case number 70542 to resolve this matter immediately, or have your attorney call". "it is important that we reach you immeidately".

I call the local number first, asked to speak to the person who left the message, and the person answering said, he just called to tell you to call me.  I asked who this was, and he said Brad Rollings.  I said I was to call Bill, so I would call back at the 866 # and ask for bill.  He kept on and on saying you won't get him because he doesn't take calls. but I called anyway.  It went to the same place with the same person answering.

Before I could give the case number he started asking all kinds of questions, who was I, what is my address and did I know this person.  I refused to answer then he said something like I feel sorry for your wife because you are being so childish.  When I told him I wasn't married, he said, well I guess we know why don't we.

I am sick of these calls to us folks who have done nothing wrong and want to take a stand on how to prevent them from calling in the first place because they obviously know it isn't the person they need to reach, its just part of an investigation and they got your number somehow.

I will never give anyone like these calls any info and always tell them (after I try to get info from them which they always refuse) F off pal, see you in court.  They never seem to call back until the case gets transferred to another collection agency, then I have fun again messing with them.  

Don't give out any info unless you are the person they are looking for.  Then I advise you to ask your attorney to respond to them, or get it in writing, don't provide any info over the phone.  Thats my advice.

‎866-402-4043: i have received numerous phone calls from this number & a series of local numbers telling me that this message is for...and that an attorney or yourself should call 866-402-4043 immediately. i have been receiving these calls up to four times a day. i decided to call the number and explain i am not the person they were looking for and to please remove my number. He claims the business is M. Calahan & Associates.

These calls were not even for me and when I called to ask him to stop calling, the buttmunch was a complete a**, rude, yelled at me, called me a liar, etc. This is unnaceptable.

After further research I have come to know this is an extortian scam. If you look up the business, it doesn't exist. When I tried to report it to the BBB, this was not a recognized company and if you go to add it to the list on the BBB, it asks for an address...how can I report it, if it does not exist?? Complete BS if you ask me.

This freak of nature called me from 13212823438   Had some type of automated calling system to give you a toll free number: 1(866) 402-4043 The initial message left from a female was:

Hello This is M. Calahan & Associates contacting you about an important matter, your information may have been compromised. We have also explored the possibility that some of your personal information may have been obtained, In a matter with or without your direct knowledge or consent. However, due to the seriousness of the situation we are trying strongly that either yourself or your attorney contact our office, immediately. Please be sure to have your file number available. When returning our call. 42081 our toll free number is 1(866) 402-4043.,

Both numbers lead you to someone's personal land-line in their bedroom or living-room, im hearing people chatting in the background, TV blazing, and this fool answer's the phone exactly like this:

Heeeuulloo?  umm..  hello?  I remain silent for a few more seconds so i can continue to hear how foolish he sound, then the guy gets loud, HEELLOOO??!!!,  
And our conversation go like this:
[Me]-calmly:   May i ask why i continuously get a call from this number sometimes 3 times a day?
[the guy]-defensively: Would you like to give me your number so i can check to see if your in our records?
[Me]-calmly: (giving him my number ....)
[the guy]- mumbling: hold on...  hoooold. on...   then (hangs up).

Calling back.
[Me]-fumes rising: ( calls back )..   hits 0, immediately get the guy back on the phone..   WHY DO YOU KEEP CALLING MY NUMBER?!

[the guy]-sarcastically:   Why are you assuming we are constantly calling you?!  
[Me]- I have several calls then a Message left, so tell me what you want and why do you keep leaving these weird messages about either my identity being stolen or Verizon information compromised?
[the guy]- (cuts me off in the middle of a sentence),  Are you going to give me your phone number so i can search our records?

[Me] hangs up....
[Me] Call back  (hoping someone else picks up)..
[the guy] (same guy)..   yello?? hello?
[Me]-stern and grinding teeth:   Hi i need to talk with someone who is ... .  (gets cut off again..
[the guy]-whiny voice:   Why you keep calling me man? what do you want? why?
[Me]-barking:  ARE YOU SERIOUS!? You have been calling my number  4 sometimes 5 times a week, i don't pick up, i don't answer the messages, today i finally do that and i get some low life scum who collects people information to confirm the numbers to sell to whoever??  are you out of your freaking mind?! STOP CALLING ME AND BY THE WAY I AM RECORDING THIS CALL AND EVERYTHING WILL BE POSTED ONLINE!!

[the guy]-barking back: FINE, I DON'T GIVE A (cuss word)!  WHAT YOU DO, STOP CALLING .. .. [Me]-cuts him off ..  Whatever you (cuss word) call again and i will be ready for you, i have already did an online database search on your personal home phone number can't be searched with a simple people search online white pages? you live in Winter park, Fl and your telephone service is provided by Xo Florida Inc which i am reporting you to have you shut down!

I too have received the calls and unfortunately was taken for $131.86 before doing a little research. The last time they called I said the bank had blocked all activity from them and it would not release the funds until I received a written notice of all activity including when the loan was taken out, when it was to originally to be repaid and who it was originally with. Since this conversation this a.m. I have attempted to call themback several times but it just goes to voicemail. Stay away from thes scammers!

Received a call for a family member. Told them did not live here. Told me he was a lawyer, and that person needed to contact law firm of M Calahan & Associates immediately because they had a court date. Told him no such thing, you are a debt collector.
He started talking beligerent to me, told him I  would report him to the Atty Gen of NY, as that is where he said he was from.
The same person had called another Family Member, and I told him he was harrassing us. He kept talking and I hung up.
