I got a notice in the mail with this number saying it's "the new start program" federal program to help homeowners with overdue mortgage payments. I researched the comapny name online, the attorney's name who signs dan papajcik and then the phone #. I got nothign opn the first two but then I got a whole bunch about scams from this 1-866-404-0813.

I got the same notice in the mail and was tempted to call but I always research things like this first.  The guy who signed mine is Bruce Meltzer esq.

i got the same thing and they told me that me and my husband was approved and they asked for 2000 for there lawyer to settle our problem i new it was to much to be true the new start program try to get me too by name bruce melterz

I received a card about a "NEW START PROGRAM" the number is 1-866-565-9692, and it is from that Dan Papajcik Esq., Attorney at Law.  This is the website they are directing people to as well http://www.bk-law.org/hancock/ but they told me i would be approved through a "workout" program.

are these people real or are they scams?

I too recieve a card in the mail for a new start "NEW START PROGRAM" So I decided to go for it but for some reason I started to investigate Dan Papajcik Tel 1866 565-9692. No info as I tried to get his profile it came back blank. I think this is a scam.

how dare they send a postcard in the mail, that ANYONE can read stating that "the New Start Program is a federal program designed for homeowners just like you who may have fallen behind on their mortgage."

It is not anyone's business if this is true or not, and for them to send a postcard practically screaming insinuating that we are behind is atrocious.

they are a debt relief agency.

weeks my lawyer who was assigned to me locally stated she no longer does work for this company The law firms names turns out to be Jackson crowdwer

I to received a post card in the mail from Dan Papajcik Tel 1866 565-9692. I called it they told me to send 2,000.00 as well. Set up payment arragements and all, that night after I had spoken to them I watched a 20/20 series on these postcards that people are receiving and it is a major scam!!!!  I called "JOE" back and told him to cancel and that Saturday they took a 100.00 out of my account and know I am trying to get it back and they are giving me the run around!!! I call 3-4 times a day!!! Do not do this!! PLEASE I LEARNED THE HARD WAY!!!

I received the same.  The law firm of bruce meltzer dose not exist. It is a scam.  If anybody want s you to pay up front fees before they start and to stop paying your mortgage you need to look up.  I looked up on the bbc and found no such name or business.  I also looked up his name under lawers in Nj  and did not find his name.

It is a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   There is no lawyer by the name Bruce Meltzer. I looked up the name on the BBC  and also on the lawyer list for NJ where he states he is from.   There in no listing for him.  He now has my info and I am in the process of changing my bank account.  I also have my personal Lawyer involved,to make sure they donot damage my credit.

See if your bank will "reverse" the charges.

I called 1-866-565-9692 and got some guy named "John" at extention 228.
My card is signedby "Patrick Conklin, Esq." Has anyone else received this one? It says is is called the Hope4Homeowners which is a new Government Bailout Program designed for people behind on their mortgages. Has anyone else seen this guys name on your cards? He asked me for my "case # which was listed on top of my name", but I didn't give it to him. Weird.....

My buddy did this and after researching, it's a scam. Stay away!!
