I just got a message to call 866-407-9097 regarding my son. They left the name of Bailey & Fuller and that it was an urgent matter and even gave me a case# to refer to. They said my son had listed me as a contact and that if I was concerned I could call and they would talk to me! Is this a scam?

I received a call from Statewide Processing, saying they needed to confirm my address for service of a suit.  They asked for my son when I answered the phone, but then said it was a matter concerning me (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act violation #1 - not to discuss with a third party).  I finally got the caller to give me the number of the "law firm" who had filed the suit (Bailey & Fuller, 866-407-9097) and my "case number."  I called the number, spoke with a Gary Wallace, who advised me that Bailey & Fuller is a New York law firm and I had been sued (violation #2).  He then put me on with another individual, and was advised that if I had not yet been served with the suit, then it hasn't been filed with the Clerk of Court.  I advised this genius that I work for a collection attorney, and that is NOT the procedure.  I asked about what I was being "sued" for.  Apparently, a five year old credit card debt, for a card I didn't ever open.  I told him it wasn't my debt, he insisted it was. I aksed him to send me verification.  He said he couldn't do that without pulling my file.  I told him to pull it, he said he couldn't (violation #3)  I told him even if I HAD opened the credit account five years ago, it was prescribed and to leave me alone.  Then I hung up and did my research.  This is NOT a law firm listed with the New York Bar Association.  Neither Baily & Fuller, nor Statewide Processing has turned up in my search of them, but I am still trying to locate them.  THIS IS AN UNLAWFUL SCAM, AND SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE NEAREST ATTORNEY YOU CAN FIND.  VIOLATIONS SUCH AS THESE CAN BE LITIGATED AND YOU CAN WIN.  RUN THESE DERELICTS OUT ON A RAIL, AND NEVER, NEVER, NEVER SEND THEM ANY MONEY!!!!  If they call saying it's urgent and about a family member, don't fall for it - if it was an emergency, you would be notified by a REAL organization, such as a hospital or the police.  DON'T FALL FOR IT, AND REPORT IT!  GREAT WEBSITE TO CHECK OUT IS www.budhibbs.com.   HANG UP ON THESE PARASITES!

They called me twice to discuss a lawsuit for a family member's unpaid bill (and yes, this is a direct violation of FDCPA).  They left the name of Bailey & Fuller, a law firm and the number 866-407-9097.  I called back to tell them they should contact the person directly if this were a legitimate claim (spoke with Nancy Stevens).  I also asked for their address so that I can request in writing to have them remove me from their call list.  Ms. Stevens told me that they do not give out their address to anybody.  What kind of law firm (or even a legit collection firm) REFUSES to give out their mailing address?????  This is a complete scam.  I am going to report them to my local AG, the FCC, and FTC.  These guys are scum!

My son-in-law received a call as the "emergency contact" for me.He, of course, asked what it was regarding, she,Natalie Diaz, stated that I was involved in a lawsuit in Los Angeles County and that she was calling for the Law Firm BAILEY AND FULLER. She is representing STATEWIDE PROCESS SERVERS@ 1-631-755-3096. She gave him a case # and phone #866-407-9097. This explains hang up calls we've received in the last couple months from 866-407-9097. I also worked as a collections clerk in my youth and have an idea the laws regarding these things have only gotten stricter as far as privacy. If I was indeed involved in a lawsuit Iwould have been served up front and honestly.  I am most definitly NOT going to call them or send any money. I am also reporting this to the proper agencies.

    It wasn't me!
I received a private call on my cell phone, I answered and they said someone had filed a complaint and I would be served a summons today.  I could stop it if I called 866-407-9097.  I called and was put on hold two times, it seemed to be a long time so I hung up.  If it was that important, they should have got back on the phone a lot quicker.

My parents got a message on their voice mail. The caller left a message specifically for my mother that she is listed as a contact for me and that I was being sued. The caller also said that SHE could stop the "papers" herself if she call. We knew it was not legit with that statement.

It is too bad these idiots are calling people's parents. Mine are elderly and I am sure alot of elderly folks may fall for this scam

These people called my ex-wife and threatened her with a law suit supposedly because of a credit card that expired with a balance, not living up to their lost wages insurance I had when an accident happened that resulted in replacing both my hips.  It's my understanding that any bill collectors cannot threaten anyone to get information.  From some of the responses listed about this company, it's obvious they are involved in some sort of scam.  They left this phone number:866-407-9097

On either April 8th or 9th a message from Bailey & Fuller was left on my home answering machine telling me that I was the contact number for my adult son that lives in Texas.  I live in Nebraska. They left the 866-407-9097 number along with a Summons ID #.  I didn't call them back.  My daughter started investigating and discovered that this is a scam.  Thanks for the information.

I am very happy I read these reports.  My home was called by a process server saying my daughter would be served with a summons at noon and leaving the name of a law firm, Bailey and Fuller, and this phone number, and a case number.  My partner took the call and was worried about my daughter and called the number.  She spoke to Gary Wallace and he said the suit was about an unpaid credit card debt.  I was planning to talk to my daughter about the call, but before I did Gary Wallace called again, and I answered the phone.  He said they were interested in settling the matter and suggested a dollar amount and said that the agreement would include removing any evidence of the debt from her credit report.  He repeated that what he could do was stop the lawsuit going forward, although when I asked if he was a lawyer he said no, but he did describe Bailey and Fuller as the law firm.  I asked where he was an he said in New York. I did think it unusual that this person would discuss the matter with me, as my daughter is an adult (and I should have realized it is actually illegal to do so!).  Anyway, I decided to research the law firm, which did not show up on several different google searches, until I put in "collection lawyers" and then I got this website with the information from all of you!

I received 2 calls first from 631-755-3088 where a gentleman left a message saying there is a law suit being processed and the attorney handling is Bailey and Fuller. He left a case# and phone# 866-407-9097 if I called by 7:00 p.m. I could stop the suit from going forward. Second call from a recording 615-869-0192 noticing I have been entered into a statewide data base and they will continue to call. Erged me to call 866-399-4101 to get important message. The number came up with a Murfreesboro TN address. Certain this is a hangover from a BAD divorce 8 years ago! I won't call back!

I received a call from a firm called Bailey & Fuller.  He said I was a contact for my former daughter-in-law.  He said she was going to be served a summons around noon today and if she wants to stop the summons she needs to call 1-866-407-9097 as soon as possible.
