Automated phone message indicating "This is not a sales call I have some very important business to discuss. Please call me at 866-416-6130. When you call please provide reference no. 19618345."

I called this number and spoke to "Joseph" (I doubt this was his real name because of the Indian accent). He indicated he was from United Collections Bureau and asked my name. Since I did not want to provide my information I asked why his company had called and who they were looking for. I then found out the company was looking for someone who does not live at the address of my phone number.

Exactly the same story as "Misdial" on 20 Dec 2007, but with a different reference number:

[I Googled "United Collections Bureau" and they do have a website, but there are plenty of Rip-Off Report hits and lawsuits against them for harassment, FTC complaints, etc.]

this company has been calling and leaving this message for me every night for 3 weeks.  since i don't owe anyone money i didn't bother calling back until they called me this evening at 5:00.  i called back out of curiousity and got a message from "r and d" rehab... then it flipped me to some lady who said they are closed and that she is their answering service.  i asked her why they are harrassing me with their calls and she said she doesn't know, she is the answering service.  i asked her why they are calling at 7 and 8 p.m. if they have an answering service taking calls after 5?  she doesn't know that either.

Got my first call from this number about noon today, on my cell of course; it rolled over to v-mail. Whatever the guy's accent was, it was nearly unintelligible. In the background, I could hear several other voices with the same accent. I called them back on a land line, waded through the computerized answering system, was put on hold awaiting next-available operator, was finally transferred to "next operator," got an open line with nobody on it for a minute, then cut off.

I received a call from this number and a message was left.  They were looking for a business, that is actually my ex-husband's girlfriend's business (imagine that!)  I had a hard time returning their call because for several hours I just kept getting a fast busy signal.  I finally got through and spoke with "Kevin" with a strong Indian accent.  He said he would take my home number off of his list.  It wouldn't surprise me that this is a legitimate collection company because my ex and his girlfriend have incurred lots of debt over the last several years and it's finally catching up with them.  These companies use a "skip trace" to find people and since my name comes up as being associated with my ex-husband, I ALWAYS get calls from creditors trying to find him.  I just give them his cell phone number and they usually never call me again.

Received a call from this number 3 times in one day. When i finally got through they did not have my number on file or my name. They had no idea why I was called. When they tried to pump me for more information on myself I quit answering their questions. Like the other people above, the lady on the other end sounded like she was from a different country. I had a hard time understanding her. Her name was Connie she said.

These morons have been calling me and leaving rude messages for at least a month now. I always get the calls when Im at work or in class and can't answer, so it always goes to voicemail. Sometimes its a man, whose name is different, but the voice is the same everytime. And then there's that lady connie, who sounds like all these other fools who refuse to give any relevant info as to why they're calling. I'm not calling back if someone is going to be such a tool about something i probably have nothing to do with.

I just recieved a call from these people.  Spoke to "Kevin", although I'm quite positive that was false.  He didn't "sound" like a Kevin, ya know?!  Anyway...

Does anybody know who these people are?  They were looking for me, but I told them I was my sister, and he would give me No info whatsoever about the company or what the call was regarding.  He wasn't rude, but I certainly wasn't going to volunteer out information...  I guess we'll see if they call back, then suggest I'm taken off their list.  Im sure that's all I can really do anyway...

They left a voicemail at work for me, they just keep on calling. I have tried to call back but it just says you have reached audix for UCB. The guy who called me said something on the lines he hopes I call back, there are important legal matters we have to go through. His name was Gabriel, called from 1 866 416 6130 ext 633.

Call was from collections bureau about an electric bill I wasn't aware wasn't paid off from a location I was no longer living at.

I ignored the call a few times, assuming a scam, but looked it up online after a week.

Do yourselves a favor and call back.  Either it's a legit bill you didn't know about, or it's a wrong number and they won't call back.

Recorded messages from this number call into our (federal) workplace every few days for the past several months.  Usually, a message is left after hours to call 866-416-6130 with a reference number.  Would love to stop these calls as the number being called is a main reception desk unassigned to an individual.

I got a call from 8664166130, and they left a message on my phone and they were asking for someone that didn't have the phone. Their name is Angie calling from UCB.

My 13 year old daughter kept getting messages from this # similiar to those listed below.  When I finally had had enough I called the number, used the reference # and asked them what UCB is.  They said it was United Credit Bureau (a collection company).  I asked why then they would be trying to call my 13 year old daughter!!  They offered to remove her # from their list.  I asked where they were located and they said my city.  I asked what the weather was here today and she said "sunny" (lucky guess!)  I asked what the temperature was and she said she didn't know because she was in an office.  I told her to take a guess.  She said she didn't know and didn't want to waste anymore of my time!  I called her a Liar and she hung up.  I have reported this to my cell phone company however because it comes in as "unknown" they cannot block the actually incoming number which is different than the number they tell you to call back!

Caller ID showed phone number as only "419".  Since my local hospital also shows extensions this way, I answered.  Found out their number is 866-416-6130.  They asked for someone other than me - so I said please remove me. No response, so I hung up.  My individual "Brandon" sounded as if he might be Mexican - go figure!

I was handed a written message at my job stating that a person named Katie called asking to speak with me and provided the following information for me to call: 866-416-6130 Ext. 588, Reference #: 37441126. I called the number a recording stating this was an attempt to collect a debt, this call will be recorded, and sat on hold for 10-15 minutes to only get an individual who spoke little english. First, this company is putting my job at stake as we are not to receive personal calls at my place of employment. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, and hopefully they can put an end to this company calling and harassing me on my job.

This number keeps calling my cellphone and my parents and grandparents they are looking for my husband I have asked them to stop calling me and my family memebers. My husband has his own phone if they want to reach him then call his number. I am goimg to report them if they call again
