Called the number back and got FINANCIAL RECOVERY SERVICE saying that I refused to pay my master card bill.  I told him that he wanted another person with the same first and last name on a certain street as I get a lot of calls about him.  He said, no, it was on yet another street. I got the impression that he wasn't believing me when I told him that I did not live nor ever lived on the street that he said nor did I have that master card.  But in his defense I am sure that a lot of people lie when they owe money.  He asked my name and the first and last names were the same but the middle initial was not.  So now I know of 2 people in this town with the same first and last name that don't pay their bills and I expect a lot of calls about these 2 other people from debt collectors who don't do thorough research.

They've been calling me as well non stop but give them no information.   They're bogus and my bank stands behind us re this ongoing issue stating it's fraud and they've customers who've been scammed by this group of thieves.   Don't give them any information as that's how they'll tap into your accounts which we were told by our bank.

I rec'd a call from this number today; I did not answer and they did not leave a message, so I appreciate the information found here.

This is a BOTTOM_FEEDER! They buy discharged debts for pennies on the dollar and then try to collect for years and years, frequently buying old account information from other organizations who are just as unethical.

NEVER TALK TO THEM ... and FIGHT BACK!

    A. Check with your consumer protection agency for the statute of limitations on credit-card debts in your state.

Statute of Limitations on Debt Collection: The statute of limitations relates to a creditors right to sue to collect money. The original creditor is mandated by federal law, to charge-off an account when no payments have been received for 180 days. That date is referred to as the ‘Date of Last Activity (DLA)’ and reported as such, to the credit reporting agencies by the creditor.

The DLA determines two critical issues: 1) It starts and stops the seven year clock on your credit files. 2) I starts and stops the statute of limitations for taking legal action in your state by ANY subsequent owner of the account.

    B. You can also buy a phone that allows you to block numbers. (Eg., Panasonic KX-TG7624 blocks up to 30 numbers and is easy to use.

I answered the phone and a woman said that she works for financial recovery services. She ask me ti verify my DOB so I said no because I don't know who she was then she said to verify my address so I gor mad and told her that if she is callong mi cell number she should habe my info and that I'm not gibong my personal info to anybody. She just kept and talking and talking and i just hanged up. It is an old debt but its been 5 yeras already. In my state that is the time limit for the companies to collect a debt so I'm not paying this collector a dime!!! They are a total scam!!!

I've been through oh,say about 3-4 of these scum bags that hire people that either can't get a real job or are ex-con's and such,plus...most get some sort of percentage of a recovery that why some get nasty!!
1st off it's normally a generated call and waits for a person to either press a button saying you are not who they are looking for or you wait and it "automatically" accepts that you are the person they want and indeed in debt so they want u to call a number.HOW could they ever prove that a real person answered a phone call...they can't !!!
How can they even try to do anything if they just get an answering machine...they can't but it's a newer tactic to try to get u to call/pay.
I have no plans on paying to any debt outfit..ever! I only work directly with the "original" creditor and then send a letter of cease and desist to the debt collector (look online then send the letter "certified", and "signature confirmation" and keep a copy!!!
They must stop writing you, calling you and friends/employer or can be sued!
LEARN how to get even by searching debt collectors etc online and how to fight back, there's a ton of great information for all of you to learn!

These are scumbags who have been harassing me about someone with a debt who has a similar name to me. No matter how many times I give them my last 4 SSN or tell them my middle name is M and not R they continue to call. One lady called me yesterday from a private number trying to get me to answer since I usually hang up, and she refused to let me explain, instead talking over me. These bottom-feeders have no qualms harassing people with no debt, and those of us who are disabled or mentally ill. FIGHT BACK!
