- Tim| 2 repliesI had a message on my machine saying this was a private call to *** (my last name, but no one lives here with the first name they gave). How my number got associated with this other person I don't know, unless they are just picking at random people with this last name.
- Caller: not on id
- Call type: Debt collector
- Rich replies to Tim| 1 replyA lot of times they do random checks of phone listings and call to see if the person they are looking for lives there. This happens all the time. Whats frusterating is the person they call is inconvienenced by them on a search and collect mission. They use an auto dialer system that call at various times hoping to get some response even an answering machine because that way they know the number is a working number and then they get you to call them back doing their mystery hunt for them using the private call as a ruse. My guess is either they believe you or they don't but they will continue to call if they think you are lying. They call because they are too cheap to mail things out to these people they suspect are who they are looking for because that costs them money for postage and paper and envelopes. They sure don't mind bothering hundreds of people trying to collect there fee. These people are low lifes and will lie and tell you anything to achieve their objective. Best thing you can do is not respond at all and if you can turn off your answering machine so they don't get a response when they call that just frusterates them more until they finaly give up.
- About to be UNLISTED| 1 replyGood advice, Rich.
NCO Financial (like many other debt collectors) continues to harass consumers despite being sued multiple times for repeated FDCPA and FCRA violations. They harassed me for months over a Cingular Wireless bill, even though I was making regular payments to the original creditor.
I am now getting multiple phone calls from debt collectors looking for people who I have never heard of. I've turned off my answering machine and blocked their numbers, but that has not stopped them from calling. I am on the verge of having my phone number changed to an unlisted number...but with my luck, I'll wind up with even more calls.- Caller: NCO Financial

- Leigh replies to KathyIf you keep getting calls from this NCO Collection Agency, file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. Here is the link:
https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01
Fill in all parts of the complaint. Give them a detail of what they are saying to you and file it a couple of times. - PONCO finance. They keep calling regarding a debt of my fathers. They have recieved a letter from his attorney and they will not call him. They just keep calling me. I've tried to call them back on three seperate occasions, but their recording gives their hours. By the time I get the message it is after their hours, but then most of their calls are recieved when they say they are not open. If I ever get one of their home numbers I'll pass it along. Then we can call them at home and see how they like it. After all, we will just be respnding to their call.
- DougHave been recieving calls from this firm. They say they are NCO and they are attempting to collect a debt. Checked with all my creditors. I'm not behind on, or ever have been behind on payments to any of them. Checked all three credit firms and my rating is excellent. One credit card co. said that they sounded like individuals that were involved in identity theft. I will treat them as such.
- POStill putting up with their calls. Unknown to me, my parents got in over their head due to medical and perscription costs. Our bank recommended a lawyer to them and they went to him. The lawyer told them that he would contact the credit card companies, and due to their financial situation, they should not make anymore payments.
It was over two years before I found out what was going on. My mother, who had cancer and heart problems had been answering calls and trying to talk to individuals who represented firms such as this for two years. In the middle of one of the phone calls she collapsed. When I got to their home the ambulance was already there. The phone was off the hook and on the floor. I hit *69 and was given a number. My mother never returned home. She was sent to a nursing home. That night, after leaving the hospital, I was sitting with dad and the phone rang. Answered and some dirtbag just started screaming and calling me names. Hung up and hit *69. Same number.
Two months latter dad ended up in the hospital and in the nursing home. While in the nursing home this same collection agency had papers served on my parents. Mom passed away a few days latter.
This is a different firm. The other firm paid a fine, the deputy who served the papers is no longer a deputy and the county clerk who sent him to the home is no longer with the clerk of courts office.
These people use false names. In most states they have to register those false names and under the freedom of information act you can get their real names. Now these firms are trying to convince the government that the names should not be released. They claim endangers their employee's and might subject them to the same kind of harrassment that they use.
Perhaps if they would treat people honestly, talk with their lawyers and work within the law they would be treated with respect. Until then they are just terrorists who will not stop at murder to reach their goal. I will do everything, within the law, to shut them down. - ETI was just issued a cell phone at work, and this collection agency keeps calling. I've only had the number for 3 weeks and they are calling incessantly. I have no debt associated with this cell phone; obviously they are phishing for a response. How do I get them to stop calling? They are so annoying.

- DolbyWhen I return home at night I check my voice mail and there always seems to be a message from this outfit. Every saturday morning they call using their automated system with a recorded message for someone who does not live here.
Have returned their call several times with the same result. They are not open. It's almost like some child playing with an auto dial system that gets a kick out of harrassing senior citizens.
They refer to themselves as "NCO Finance." NCO is a term used to discribe certain ranks in the military. This firm (if it exists) is a disgrace to the term NCO.
If I find out that they represent one of my credit card companies I will inform that company (and my representatives both state and federal) that I consider them responsible for these calls which border on terrorism.
All my cards are up to date with no missed or late payments. I always pay more then the minimum payment.- Caller: NCO

- M.S.I got several calls from this SCO too.
Funny thing is that I don't owe any debt. And I strongly feel this is
a phish scam. I called the 866 number at their regular office hours
as suggested, same VM to ask me to call back at regular hour.
Hello!? Don't they have a wall clock to look at? It is the time you
are supposed to work...
And this increase my belief NCO is not a normal bussiness firm.- Caller: NCS Financial Services

- C.R| 1 replyCalled this morning at 8 am wouldnt identify, other than debt collector. told them i didnt owe, and had lawyer to prove it, they told me to pay the lawyer AGAIN to send them the information. I gave them lawyers info and told them to get it themselves.
Called again tonight with a recorded msg. Called back and told them to take me off whatever list they have and leave me alone. told me there was no list and that he was looking for (my mother) i asked why and he told me he couldnt disclose that. i gave the phone to my mother and he turned to her and said i never asked for you i was looking for(me). when i got the phone back i asked him why he asked for her when he was looking for me. he then said do you know her or not ma'am? i told him that was me and told him the same thing that i told the lady this AM. he then proceeded to tell me that i shouldnt hide behind a lawyer and its only affecting my credit. i told him that was fine i didnt care, and then i asked him how they were doing with all of their lawsuits...he then hung up..- Caller: NCO
