- Maritza| 2 repliesThreatening calls. Claimed they are a special courier with sealed documents for me. I must sign and present two pieces of ID. they stated they were given special instructions to go to my job and have me brought out front for delivery. I took a day off from work waiting for this so called delivery. Now I am reading posts everywhere about this bottom feeding collector agency.

- Mad in Mo replies to MaritzaFirst off no body calls you ahead of time to tell you that you will be served papers. Second you don't have to show ANY ID to sign for the papers. This is a scam that is well known to threaten people.
- kareni just received the exact same call. he said his name was bill, and could hardly understand him. said he had already been to my job but was told i was unavailable. then said he would be heading out to my house....uuuggghhhh

- K. Monique| 1 replyJust received a call from this person who claimed he needed to deliver some papers to me and I needed to show 2 forms of ID. Asked me what time I will be home so they could come by. When I asked what is was in reference to the person refuse to give me any information so I hung up. He called back and I hung up again. Googled the number only to find out its a damn low life bill collector.

- Have gotten these before| 4 repliesYesterday, I got a call from an "out of area private number." Since I screen my calls I don't answer calls that I don't know or calls that don't identify themselves. I didn't notice that a message was left until today because usually these kind of calls are from telemarketers that don't leave messages. The message was from some guy who was very hard to understand (I had to listen several times to the message to make anything out). If I understood right, he said his name was "Bill Shake" and that he is "a special courier with sealed documents" that needed to be signed by me and my husband. That we needed to "present two pieces of ID" along with having "someone there to witness the signing." Also, he said that he would be going to our place of work to "speak to our Supervisor about when it would be a good time to come back to make the delivery (both my husband and I are retired on disability and no longer work so I just had to laugh)." He also said that he "would be coming to our house between 12-3pm? today" and that "we needed to be there if we didn't want further action to be taken for a missed appearance." He further said if we wanted to, we could call 866-426-6661 to make other arrangements to have the documents delivered to us. Two days ago there was 2 other messages left on my phone nine minutes apart (8:40 am & 8:49 am) from a "Steven Bundy" at 919-439-9999 stating that he's a personal locator from the "Federal Mediation Office." He said that if my husband did not call back "Mr. Bundy" @ 888-447-8286 within 24 hours that "criminal charges would be filed against him" and that "he would be summoned to appear in court (by the way, my husband's mom got called around noon with the same message)." I'm wondering if these calls are connected somehow and if anyone else got a similar call prior to getting called by the 866 #? I am thinking about reporting this to the FTC. The hard part is reporting companies who hide who they are. I doubt anyone will show up at my house but if someone did I would not feel comfortable answering my door since this probably is a scam and the person who left the message sounded suspicious and not trustworthy.
- Edith Miller| 1 replyMy Mother was called saying there was a federal indictment against me concerning a bounced check. Written from Wood Forest National Bank. The check was written back in 2010. I called the mediator by the name of Steven Bundy. From toll free number 888-447-8286. He informed me that an arrest warrant would be issued if I didn't take care of this bounced check. I was then contacted by an officer in Dorchester County with the last name of Randall. Does anyone have any information about this toll free number and either or Mr. Bundy or Officer Randall?

- Gunnar replies to Edith MillerYour caller is a fraud. We hear these stories here all the time. If you take another of his calls DEMAND proof of his claim be mailed to you. He'll get all bent out of shape & proceed with threats. Ignore him. Hang up. Then call your county sheriffs office. Explain the situation & verify that there is no "Officer Randall". You'll find that no such person exists or, if there is an Officer Randall, he will have no clue what you're talking about. You will also want to check with your county Clerk of Court. They'll be happy to check your name against any pending issues. I can tell you right now, there will be nothing.
Scum-bags have been pulling these scams for months now. A simple call to your bank will castrate these scammers.
Be Safe. Be Aware.
Gunnar - Chris| 1 replyI just got a call from a lady saying there were criminal charges being filed against me and to call the federal mediator Steven Bundy, (888)447-8286 but I pretended to be a friend. I'm calling back tomorrow and introducting myself as Sgt Master Trooper xxxxx xxxxx with the State Police. I have been notified to call you about the charges being brought upon me and I have also checked records and of course clean. You my friend have pulled your scam on the wrong person. You have committed Federal wire fraud accross interstate communicaton lines and you will be getting a visit TODAY to read your rights. Next time you want to try to trick people, do it in a llittle more ethical way.
Yours truly, Trooper xxxx xxxx. - Julia replies to ChrisWe are dealing with this creep also. Same number, same stories, same everything. BTW, the scam might work a wee bit better if the "receptionist" wasn't a gum chewing, drama queen who does not know how to deal with phone calls - she even hung up on me because I wanted to speak to "Mr. Bundy". Our latest encounter was 1/31/14, 8:00 am.
- anonymousHis office called a friend stating he was filing federal criminal charges against me if i did not call back today. called back to talk to a receptionist who stated that she would have Mr bundy call back in 20 minutes and had no idea what this was about. what a crock of bull. this is a scam. you would never be warned they are ccharges that are going to be filed against you.
- Caller: Steven bundy
- Michelle replies to Have gotten these beforeI received the exact same call ... It January 28th, first some lady calls me and claims to be a locater for the State, I asked what state, she refused to say it, then proceeded to tell me I need to get ahold of Steven Bundy, his number was the same 888.447.8286, he didn't answer but called me back about an hour and a half later saying I owed $1,200 to the state for a bad check written in my name... I guess he didn't do his research about NM laws, however I did, I worked for the courts and I know that writing a worthless check is all about, they usually send an official court document which is called a 'contact' letter and then they go from there, secondly they don't have you calling them back on 888, 800, or 866 numbers. I called mr Bundy this morning after I did my research on his phone number.. I will be calling the news stations and the DA office to make them aware of this scam... Good luck to you and I'm glad you caught on to this POS person!

- ShillKill replies to thomas evans| 1 replyOkay, in my 20+ years of experience in the field I have never heard of anyone being called and warned before being served. But this case may in fact be unique, and I am open minded. Would you be kind enough to provide us with the name of the company or organization that filed suit against you. They will be listed as "Plaintiff" in the documents you were served with.
