has been calling daily for someone else... electronic voice saying that it was about an urgent matter. sounds like a scam. no identification given.

I have been receiving calls from this number every few days for a few weeks. I answered once and heard the same click with no one on the other end. I decided to call the number back and an automated voice says it's some marketing company and the first option is to have your number removed from their call list. I followed the menu and the automated voice read back the number i was calling from (my home number) and asked if i wanted it removed from the list. I pressed "1" for yes and it said my request would be processed in the next 24 hours. Problem solved!

This is a Telemarketer who is professing to represent PC Mastercard.  They asked for a name (wife) who is not listed.  Advised we are on the National DNC list and they better not call again.  They said they got the name from a "Public Source" and have 30 days to remove the number.  They were warned that the next call would be reported to the authorities.  They apparently have called others purportedly representing other financial institutions as well.  The called number is not publically listed under the name they were asking for and they are undoubtedly buying names from an illegitimate source.

They said it was President's Choice Mastercard but in way way sounded legitimate.  SCAM!!!!!!
Call was received at 4:37 p.m., on Saturday, March 4, 2011, in Sarnia, Ontario.  Call display read OUT OF AREA.  

If you call the number back you get a recording that tells you to press 1 for English, 2 for Francais, and if you don't do anything it says good bye and disconnects.

(Their message said that they do marketing for some Fortune 500 companies...I really can't confirm that one way or another, since I never talked to anyone...)

So it is a telemarketing company that represents different business, the funny thing is when  I called it back to  have my number removed it gave me a number that wasn't even my number.

got a call monday march  28 2011 approx 5pm
claims to be PC Financial Mastercard. sounded knowledgeable and legit in terms of the programs the card does offer and how it works, but nothing you wouldn't be able to find out from picking up a voucher at a no frills check out counter or PC kiosk. asked for name, address, phone number, - basic stuff PC would already have.
then they started to ask for personal info that seemed irrelevant to the card - employer, professional position, yearly income, etc. claiming it was necessary to help decide the new limit on my card - i'm pretty sure the intent of the call was presented as being so they could send me coupons for $20 off groceries + 5000 pc points. i got put on the phone with the telemarketers supervisor whose face i ripped off and indicated that if they wanted me to sign up or divulge anything that i would need to have documents sent over to the address i had confirmed. let's see what they send.

Call frequently. never leave a message. Returned the call, and get a voice mail saying to be removed from their list, press 1, and my # would be removed within 24 hours. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked. Today, a week after I attempted to be removed from their list, have received 3 calls, no messages, as of 8pm.... Do not trust this company, ignore them, complain about them. Their regular biz # is 416-850-9357 (Toronto).

Called the number back and was able remove my phone number. It says its Gemma Communications and its a "outsource" company

I just got the call today on my mobile phone. I followed the above directions as Sydney posted and when the automated message read the number back, it was not mine. I entered mine - hoping I didn't just feed them more info! It says within 24 hours I'll be deleted.

They said something like "JDC Communications" but I couldn't make out the accent. Then they butchered my wife's name...and it's an easy name.

This number has been calling repeatedly for the last few days. No message left.

Call numerous times per day. PC Financial Mastercard. I advised not to call. This is not a charity. I am on the no call list. They should be charged for violating no call list rules.

They have been calling for a month, I'm also on the DNC list, now I just answer the call, and put the phone down,  I'll see if these morons figure it out...

Thanks. I called to get my name taken of their list. The recording says "Gemma Communications" which is a real company but I don't want to speak to any telemarketers, real or fraudulent! They've called me every day for the past week and 3 times tonight! Hope tonight's calls were the last!

Have this number on call block, but the phone still rings once until the number registers so it's still annoying.  They have been repeatedly bothering us.  I don't trust the 'dial 1 to remove' thing - apparently it doesn't work according to a previous post.

They have been calling me very frequently in the past two weeks or so but based on the messages that other people posted I called them after hours and was able to easily have my number removed from their call list...a lot easier then some of the other telemarketers out there.
