Called about a debt and requested I call them back.  Did not refer to me by name.  I do not have any outstanding debt on my credit report.  Assumed mistaken or fraudulent call.

I returned a call left on voice mail on the day after Christmas. Male who answered wanted to "educate me about a debt my wife owes." He didn't know how he got the number.

My wife owes no money, they have the wrong person. What out!!!

Allied left a message on my business telephone answering machine while I had two potential customers in the office. They said it was an attempt to collect a debt and I watched my potential customers walk out the door as a result of this call. Do these idiots answer to anyone ? It was not my debt, soc.#,nor any employee#.

Call concerning unpaid debt.  Since we owe no debt this simply could not be a legitimate call.  We receive these calls several times a week.  This is getting very, very annoying!

I've gotten several recorded messages from them.  When I tried to call back I kept getting an "all circuits are busy" message.  I found a different phone number - 1-800-811-4214 (for IQor, their parent company).  The woman I spoke to was nice & found out that it's not me they are looking for.  Don't know how they got my phone number since I've had it for 3+ years.  She said she'd have my number removed.  We'll see.

These are scum bottom-feeding S.O.B's who prey on the naive. They get ancient unsettled account information from even closed banks and loan companies, then harass whomever they can call with the same name or phone number.
Because these debts often they are contested charges, have already been "written off", discharged,  by the original lender or firm, they are NOT legally attempting to collect because of the statute of limitations.  They even badger people or businesses who have legally discharged their debts though bankruptcy.  These are idiots who can't get a job at a legitimate banking institution.   They should be hung!

I have two homes in two different states, phones in each are getting calls from 866-429-7605. How can we get them to stop? They are annoying, and I waste cell phone minutes retrieving my messages. Not fun!

Got a call from 1-323-372-6323 and didn't answer (since I had no idea what area code it was). They left a pre-recorded message, and just like the stories above, they were from Allied, calling in regards to a debt that I do not have. The message requested that I call them back at 1-866-429-7605 to speak with a representative...I'm thinking that's not going to happen anytime soon!!!

received a voicemail from this number stating they were allied interstate calling in reference to a debt.  i do not owe any outstanding debt.  called them back and gave them my telephone number.  they asked for more information and i informed them that if they have my number and i owe a debt they should have my information.  of course they did not.  the rest of the conversation was not polite from my end.  i assume it is either a scam or they are mistaken.

Call has been happening 2-3 times a week for several weeks. This time I fixed them, I put them on constant redial for about an hour. They would pick up and no one was there. Wonder how they liked it. Then I called back and asked to be removed, there was no problem being removed.

Here's some background information on Allied Interstate: http://www.budhibbs.com/debtcollectorpages/allied_interstate.htm

If you want to do something about these calls, there are several routes you can take in this matter, and I suggest you take them all!  :)

    1) file a complaint online with the Federal Trade Commission here: http://ftc.gov/ftc/cmplanding.shtm

    2) Then, for good measure, file a complaint online with the Federal Communications Commission here: http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/complaints_tcpa.html

    3) File a complaint with your state's attorney general.

    4) For advice on other ways to deal with these slimy collector thugs, you can peruse the websites of consumer law attorney Bud Hibbs ( http://www.budhibbs.com/First.htm ) and the National Association of Consumer Advocates ( http://www.naca.net/debt-collection-abuse )

    5) Send Allied Interstate a letter, via certified mail, directing them to cease all communication with you and warning them that if they don't, you'll gleefully pursue every applicable legal sanction against them.  Here is their main address:

    Allied Interstate, Inc.
    435 Ford Rd., #800
    Minneapolis, MN  55426-1066

Just be sure to mail it via *certified* US Mail and save a copy of your letter.  If they contact you more than once after receiving your cease communication letter, then they are breaking the law and subject to fines for each incident.  I'm sure you can find more details about the cease-communication option other helpful info on the websites of the NACA and Bud Hibbs that I referenced above.

    Have fun!  :)

    Very Annoyed
I have been getting calls from these people for awhile now. I have caller I.D. so I dont usually pick up 1-800 #'s. Therefor I did not no who they were or what they wanted until the other day they called my dad's house and my step mom took the number down and told them she would have them call me back. So I am at work receive her call and decide to call them back since they made it sound sooo important. At first when I ask what is wrong and she ask what number did she call and so I tell her the number and she says its about a Sears account my husband has, hmm I say he doesnt have a sears account and so them she says oh no i'm sorry its about a car he bought like 12 or 13 years ago that he had to voluntarily give back b/c it was a Lemon, the company wouldnt pay for the repairs and he couldnt afford to pay them so therefor he sends the car back. I thought after so many years they had to stop calling. The lady replies to me they will b ecalling us for the next 20 years or so. I say I dont think so and finally hang up with up after an hour of conversation. Can they still keep calling????????? They call at all hours , early morning, and late night-------waking the kids. I am very annoyed espeacially since this happened before i even knew my husband and they are calling my Dad's house.

This number called my mom and asked for her ex mother in law(my grandmother) by name, she told them she didnt know where she was and had not spoken to her in 30 years! They would not tell her who they were or how they got her number so I called them back and they answered "Allied, can I help you?"  I said "Im sorry I must have the wrong number."  He said "Im sure you do mam" Whats up with them? Then I googled the number and found out theres a lot of this going on with this company. They harrass people sometimes the wrong people about an ancient debt.

On 12/31/08 at 8:41 am I received a call from 866-429-7605, automated message said "This is not a sales call, please hold for an important message; someone will be with you shortly."  I immediately hung up. Caller id only gives the phone number, no company name.  What ever happened to the supposedly "DO NOT CALL" register?
