I did as well. I don't have any business with that bank. I'm very skeptical about the message...

I just received the same message a few minutes ago. I looked up the info at southern commercial. They said that they do not text theri customers. Their email is also not @scbank.net it is @sc-bank.net. I contacted the number and it mentions no info about southern commercial, it just asks you to enter your card number. The problem is, I have no account with that company and I am not gullible. I hate scammers!

I got the same message as you all, i wish i could get a hold of them and mess with them, i had ID theft a couple years ago, and i hate these fing people, want to find them

also at&t, I have two lines, but the second one did not get the message, 727 also

they could not get the whole message on one text so sent a two parter

Seems like text message phishing BS to me.

Got the same thing about 5-10 minutes ago. I also went to the "scbank.net" site and except for the title "SC BANK.NET" the remaining text on the site is in Japanese.

I called the # from a land line using *67(a back-end land line that is unpublished, doesn't even bill to me, and is not ever used as a contact # for anything--not even my own legit brick and mortar bank up the street), because I wasn't sure if they had any of the info attached to the # of the phone that received the message, and probably they don't, based on the call. (One never knows--I don't know how to hack a network-computer, cell or otherwise, but I would imagine it would be possible to be trying for a confirmation call back from a number on their list)

My outgoing call to the 866-429-9774 number went as follows:
A  recording comes on that says:  "Welcome to Online Services. Your Credit Card is/has been restricted. To reactivate your card, please enter the card's 16 digit number now." (I ended the call at this point)

@Matt said, there is a legit "Southern Commerce Bank" at the URL he provided. The real bank is located in Florida, with about 10 branches, rather widely "sprinkled"(for only 10-12 branches) around pretty much the entire State of Florida, although about 5 branches are located in and around the Tampa Bay area. I also noted that some of its branches are located inside of Walmart stores.

I actually live within driving distance to branches in the Tampa Bay area. I wonder if this is a coincidence? Anybody else actually live in the area where the real Southern Commerce Bank does business?

@Katt/Matt-I'm AT & T 727 area code, too. (to avoid confusion, I'm also the same Shari that has the post just above Kat's. I've never used this site b4 so I wasn't sure if I should give out that info, so purposely vague about my location previously.
Should someone call ATT Wireless or something? I've never gotten a phish/smish on my phone before and I don't know what is the appropriate reporting procedure. I've only previously reported email/internet phishes/scams, etc., .If it is going to all of the ATT phones in the the 727 area code, there are a lot of elderly population in this area who are going to be victimized.

I got the same text at 10:42 this morning. I tried to warn ATT Wireless, and their security department basically blew it off. They told me if I don't want to get these messages in the future, just text in reply, 'stop'. I also spoke to the REAL Southern Commerce Bank and made them aware that someone was using their name in a scam email. They took it much more serious than ATT Wireless. Nice to know ATT Wireless is looking out for their clients, right? Jeez.

I am on the phone with them now and quoted your text to them ... did not say who the writer was ... they had already told me the same thing about the "stop" in the reply.

36245 is the short code for the email to text for AT&T ... there is no way to block that as far as I can tell
