Discover Card calling to discuss a question they had about an application. Was not scam.

Discover card calling to verify an application for a new card, due to a fraud alert on credit report. Application has been cancelled, because it was a fraudulent attempt.

Not a Scam. Discover Card called our house saying my husband had had correspondence with them.Someone was tryig to open an account in his name.

Thank goodness these folks actually called us about it.

Filled out Discover Card app online but they wanted me to upload a few documents so I abandoned it. Now they call all the time and I hang up.

Not a scam. Discover calling to verify if I had submitted an application to open a card. They called because there is a fraud alert on my credit account. They denied the application. They did not ask for any information at all. Very grateful for the call.

Not a scam caller. It is discover credit card services. I recently submitted an application. They just needed me to verify my submitted info, to verify that it is me. They then approved my application on the phone, and sent out of my new credit card. So its not a scam. If you recently applied for a discover card, return their calls.

Called - didn't leave a message.  Called them back - was Discover with a couple quick follow-ups.  Then they were able to decision (approved!) my card in a matter of minutes while still on the phone.  Good stuff.

Lady told me to call a different number. It was about the recent discover card application I had put in. I called the other number. they told me to verify a couple of things like birthday and mailing address and then they said I was approved for a card and that it would take a couple of days to send me the card.

Just called to check up on an application I started for a credit card. Not spam.

Keep in mind, just because the number is legit, doesn't mean the caller is!

Scammers spoof legitimate numbers to trick people into a false sense of security to answer their calls and attempt to get money or personal information from you.
This is why no one will encourage others to report of legitimate numbers, as they only confuse people into believing it is a legit call when a scammer has called them and they come here to find out about the call.

If it is a legitimate call, then anyone receiving a call would know WHY they got a call from this number, right?
So what would be a reason to come and post about it to a site designed to share information about UNKNOWN callers, such as Telemarketers, Scammers and Debt Collectors?

If your call was legit,  telling about it won't  be any comfort to those who may get a spoofed call from some scammer!

Got bombarded called from 866-440-3901. My cell phone is registered with Do Not Call...I filed the complaints. This caller left a voice mail to call 800-347-3072. Also got e mail regarding application for DICOVER credit card. I suspected somebody used my name applied this card. I never applied the card. I checked the number 800-347-3072 is not DISCOVER card 800 # more likely identify theft. The caller message to call that 800-347-3072 to verify SS# birthday & home address. Smelling fraud. I did not call back but filed the legal action. I 'm monitoring my credit.
