This number continues to call my 15 year olds cell phone looking for what I am guessing is the former owner of her cell number of which she has had now for almost two years.  Not to mention on the VM they failed to listen to I mention her by name as to who has the cell not this Stephen they are looking for.  I hate that they constantly call looking for this person and I have to contact them back more than once and tell them its not his phone nor do we even know this person.  Glad I dont, he has enough bill collectors looking for him but still this is my 15 YEAR OLDS phone.  Who can I report this to as harassment to her phone?  The message they left filled up her VM!

To all who complain about bill collectors:
    1. If you would pay your bills and be productive members of society they would not be calling you!!
    2.  If you would answer the phone and see why they are calling you in the first place they would not call you several times!
    3.  Most of you people lie and say "you have the wrong number"  are you that dumb to believe that you can not reverse the number on many websites?and/or your family members give them your number and tell them not to tell them where you got it!
    4.  By hanging up on collectors makes you an easy target for repeat calls!!  Just simply ask what this is about and what can you do to help me settle this debt.
    5.  Cursing and yelling gets you no where!

I was contacted by MIG Capital and followed those simple steps and I was set up on a payment plan and as long as I keep my end of the deal I don't have to worry about them calling me!

not Michael replies to Productive member of society
It not MY bills that are the problem.  It's Michael's bills.  Specifically, his car loan.  Apparently he bought a car, financed it through Wells Fargo, and when they asked for his phone number he gave them mine.  Michael then stopped making car payments.  At one point Wells Fargo was calling my cell phone up to 6 times/day.

I ended up downloading a "no ring" ring tone and assiging it to 3 numbers Wells Fargo was using.  After 2 weeks of that I spoke to them, told them I knew they were, and told them to stop calling.  I got one more call for Michael.  This one was a 3rd party collection company.

And I found out he source of all those calls here.  I love this site.  But Michael the Deadbeat is still on my s*** list.

    Not Who they want
I constantly recieve calls from this number asking for someone who does not live at my residents. They call them selfs MIG Capital, they say they are going to take my number off ther list but they never do. I talked to a girl named Jessica and she was nice and she asked me to write a letter of cease and desist. That would be the only way they would totally remove my number from there list.Far as I'm consider this is harrasment. Why should I be harrased for someone else that doesnt pay there bills.

Some people like myself used to get debt collection calls all the time that do not belong to me because of the previous phone number belonging to the person not paying their bills. I've had my phone number changed three times and it's a huge inconvienience for me not to mention the last time I had to pay for changing my number. You are correct in saying to people to own up to their mistakes and work something out to pay back their debt. But some of these so call bill collectors and financial institutions put so much pressure on people that proabaly already have too much to deal with. If I borrow money of course I need to pay it back. But sometimes life happens and you do the best you can with what you've got.

They don't stop calling! I have told them 15 times over the past 9 months that's they've had the wrong number and they still call multiple times a day. I receive calls as early as 5am and as late as 11pm. Get a life! I know they're just doing their jobs but have some professionalism in your work.

    Bill
They just started calling me. I've paid every bill I have ever owed on time and have an excellent credit rating. These con artists are always trying to find a number they can associate with someone else and call and bother that person to get info. This is illegal and when I find out who they are, I report them to authorities. Find out what your rights are in your state. Most of the time these are people that go to the courts and buy old debts, mostly past statue of limitations, for pennies on the dollar and trick you into paying. Beware.

    Just Me
This company keeps calling for a person who I don't know and have never known. I have asked multiple times for them to take my number out of their computer, but they still persist.
Today they called 3 different times, and each time I went thru the same conversation.  This is getting very old.

Short of ignoring the calls, is there anything to be done?

I've received a number of calls from these people, looking for someone named Keenan Massey or Keenan D Massey - Every time I try to call them back to say that no one of that name is at this number I get voice mail (after a long wait with bad music).  I've left numerous messages, but obviously no one cares, because THEY KEEP CALLING.  Grrrrrrr.

I AM a "productive member of society".  What you don't seem to understand is that we are getting calls from this number that are not directed to us or a family member.  In my case, the caller is asking for a former employee.  I have repeatedly told callers from this number (it's never the same person) that the person they are looking for has not worked for us for over a year and that I have no contact number.  I am not lying for this person - I truly have no idea where she is.

Given all of that, I think it is unreasonable to say the least to keep getting these phone calls.  I'm not the only one this is happening to.

That's not always the case "[***]".....Some people that complain about bill collectors like me, I had one calling me 7 times a week and I had already told them that I was in a car wreck and lost my job and was out of work of several months (no fault of mine) was hit by a drunk driver.  I told the fudgi ng collector that  I would call them when my doctor released me and I got a job.....He asked me how was I paying my bills and I said none of your business, in fact, the only utilities I had that wasn't turned off, was my cell phone to call the doctors and my electric, I had no water, cable, gas etc. and not much food, and I promised them I would send them the $600.00 I owed and they said I owed $900 and that was a lie and I offered to have my doctor fax my records and I had a friend send them a police report where I was badly hurt but they keep calling. ..Now even if I get back on my feet, I aint gonna pay them one red dime because they keep harassing me and pissing me off...So to the butthold productive member of society kiss my azz.

MIG can call me until the COWS come Home......I don't have a debt with them and I REFUSE to pay them anything, so let the dum [***] keep calling, If they want to annoy me, they had better come up with another method, because when they call me, I ask them questions...They ask me when I am going to pay them $1000 which I don't owe, I only OWE only one company $485.51 so don't be calling me Jacking up your price. They are rude scammers who need to learn how to talk to people and stop lying.  I hate liers and MIG are big liers. They told my 11 year old son that I would be going to jail if I didn't come to the phone and my boy started crying..These are not bill collectors, they are thieves.  I
