Threatening call - citing a case number.

Threatening tone - said he was calling for "Patrick Penman" and that his name was "John Redmon" important to call him back at 866-485-9708 ext #21 regarding case #10673500...he actually was calling from 781-233-0358

law ferm need to call back today with ref number.  Said his name was John was not friendly at all.

" Brad " called and left a message citing a REFERENCE number, and said it was for an overdue bill. A bill that is NOT mine. He had my maiden name, but my phone number is under contract ( cell) with my married name.

left voicemail on a neighbors answering machine referencing a legal matter. voicemail scared neighbor because they stated, "it was a time sensitive matter". apparently two separate people called, one name Brad and another named Michael. phone number left was (866) 485 9708. the interesting thing is that this is something no longer on my credit bureau and the statue of limitations has expired on the debt.

This is completely a scam.  Do not give these people any information.  My husband's sister-in-law actually received the call, who lives in a different state, saying for my husband to call her regarding a "legal matter".  The call was meant for my husband for an outstanding debt that no longer appears on his credit report.  They said the are from the Paul J. Coleman law firm in Massachusetts and the number was 866-485-9708.  I found out from my lawyer that these people are from collection agencies and law firms that actually buy "old debt" to try to profit off of it since they work on commission.  They want checking account information.  DO NOT give these people any information.  Get a lawyer involved before you do ANYTHING!

Also, the guy got very hostile, defensive, and rude, when I was being polite and nice.  This is a sign that they are up to no good!  Just please do not give these people any personal information.  My lawyer told me if they call again, to give them his number.

Rec'd call tonight... same as the blogs above. "Time sensitive matter" from law offices of Paul J Coleman... same 866-485-9708. I am a member of Prepaid legal and they are already all over this! The $25 bucks/mo i pay them is well worth them taking this on and getting them off my back! Glad i found this blog! Thx to those of you who have commented here before me!

These people called my grandmother and got her to give them her bank account info. Her bank denied the draft and sent me a copy of it. Using the information on the draft, I found out the following. The Company is Paul J. Coelman and Associates Law Office, 999 Broadway #202, Suagus, MA 01906. Their real phone number is 781-233-0590. I have not verified that this is a debt she owes. The people calling are threatening and very quick to yell.

These people called my work, were very hostile when I told then I would not mind discussing the issue on my personal time as I am not able to have personal phone calls at work, two people were actually on the phone at once, demanding that I resolve this "NOW", they used my maiden name from 10 years ago, and had all my phone numbers. She said they were from the office of Paul J Coleman, and gave me the # 1-866-485-9708 to call back, then immediatly called my cell # and said I lied about the phone numbers I gave them, which were none, I only gave them my cell number, which they called and I answered. I was very confused any angry, I am 9 months pregnant and do not need this stress, something told my to google the name paul j coleman, and this is the first thing that popped up, I'm so glad I went with my gut.

I am getting the same phone calls and am just ignoring them.  Thanks to the messageboard it tells me that I am doing the right thing by not answering their calls.

He gets very rude.He also said 25$ would be  a disgrace to the his client, because the interest rate would be higher.He said call back to 1-866-485-9708.Then he calls back from 781-233-0427.He wants other people to pay my bills.He wanted to know all of my personal info.

I received numerous calls from a number as stated above (781).

They were calling my work number and I ignored them for the longest time. Then they called and asked for Personnel at my office and they wanted my supervisor to send them information about my employment. They faxed her a form asking her to fill it out with my information (date of hire, any garnishments, position, rate of pay). My supervisor tried sending a fax back to them stating that she cannot release any information about me without my written authorization. When she tried faxing that back to them, the number listed on their letterhead was out of service.

As she was doing this, I talked to a gentleman, whom i assume was "John Redden" since he emailed me. I talked to him and found out it was for an old credit card that I had indeed not paid off.

When I went to see my supervisor she said that the fax number was out of service. I called them again to ask them why their fax number on the letterhead was out of service and he started getting rude and asking for my SS#. I gave him the case number they referenced and he still asked for my SS#. Then I read off the fax number that was on the email that he had just sent me two minutes before the call and he said that that number was not a good fax number. He then started getting really loud and angry. I just hung up on him.

He was very rude and not professional at all. I'm calling the actual credit card company that i DO owe money to and ask to make payment directly to them. This just sounds fishy to me...

Got a call from John Redden. Stated that they were taking me to court if I didn't pay the amount that I owed. He would give me 48 hours to respond to him and if I did not he would file with the IRS for unreported income.

This guy has called my house as well as my grandmas house..Asking form e personally..Saying that it is a legal matter and that I would be in serious trouble if I did not call back becuase someone had a suit against me..Rude sounding guy saying he was from the law office of Paul Coleman. Called from a 781 number...but was told to call the 1-866 number.

They called 3 times Monday night claiming to want to collect debt on a Visa card we haven't had for 10+ years.  Asked my wife for her SSN "to confirm your identity", at which point I told her to hang up on them.  They even called back after that and left voicemail: "this is John Parker calling from attorney Paul Coleman's office, call us back at 866-485-9708" with an alleged case number.  That was not the number they called from.  No decent attorney would ask for a SSN over the phone.

I should have known that this was a werid call since they got my last name right and my first name wrong most of the time its the other way around.
They give me a case number and Mr. Powell at x15. MR. Powell will be in the office until 8pm.

I should have research this company before I call them back.
I spoke to someone and he told me that the company system was down and that he would call me back.
I know better now DO NOT give them any personal information.

recieved message on machine from coleman alledged law firm mass. prior calls and harrassment from univ fidelity for a 25.00 dollar debt we owe to hamilton collections.hamilton must have handed it to univ fid who got no results so they hand off to coleman who try harsher measures to no avail i screen all my calls and know how to deal with clowns like this.if you have other calls you dont want plus ones like these you can go to the private eye and spy sites on the internet. there you can search for phone filtering devices you plug device into phone jack then phones into that. you then enter a three to four digit num code which you give to friends or family members or businesses.if someone other than friends or family calls the person on the other end are prompted by a voice to enter security code if they do not within about three sec unit disconnects them and your phone rings once to let you know its working. hope this helps.
