Senior citizen scam!!! Called my mother 82yr old today and got her to give them her bank routing and checking number. She said she thought it was her bank calling to order new checks??? Luckily I was trying to reach her and she answered my calls to her cell phone while she was speaking to them on her land line. She told me she needed to call me right back as she explained that she was giving her info to them. As soon as she called me back, I got the information from her about them and called the 866# only to be told by a woman with a hard to understand Asian accent that she was an answering service for the SRS group and that my mother would be getting a folder explaining everything in 4-6 weeks. When I questioned what they were selling she asked me to hold and upon returning she offered to cancel her account. I told her yes, to do so immediately!!! Then I proceeded to my Mothers and took her to close her bank acct and opened a new one! But, what an inconvenience, setting up her SSI deposit, automated billing, etc. Not to mention the stress and confusion this has caused my Mom. I did my best to reassure her, but it's so outrageous to see how easily these predators can attack the elderly with a simple phone call....BEWARE!!!

That was the same thing that happened to my mom!  She could hardly understand what the woman was saying because of the accent, but gave her the checking acct. info anyway.  Now she has to change her checking acct.  Elderly people don't always think clearly and do dumb things.  That's why they get preyed upon.

Don't give your checking info to any group called SMG or Senior Management Group.  They say they provide help for seniors and that they send you a packet in about 3 weeks to sign.  You only pay at the time that you use their service, yet they want your checking acct number now.  My mom is having to change her checking acct.

My 80 yr old mother was called and 866-505-7925 was given as the "Customer Service Number".  Mom thought she was talking to an insurance provider.  Said they sounded very legitimate; they transferred her call between multiple individuals.  They talked her into giving her Bank name and address, and she read the bank account and routing number from the bottom of one of her checks.  We will be freezing her account first thing this morning.  Changing her SS direct deposit, getting new checks, etc.  Mom just can't believe that someone would steal from her or try to harm her.

You predators know who you are and I pray for you.

This company is also identifying themselves as the Senior Medical Discount Group and it is a very big SCAM!!!!!  They state they want banking information so they don't have to ask for social security information.  They made me believe they were with Medicare.  They are really rude and speak in a foreign tone.  I turned this over the the Attorney General office.

My wife received a call which identified themselves as being associated with Medicare and would result in $400./ month but she needed to give them her bank ID #,  Unfortunateley she did give up her bank ID BUT then we discovered this SCAM and have gone to the bank and will close that account.  So the scammer has NO information to access the account.  In addition we of course will alert the State of New Jersey Attorney General about this SCAM.    We do not understand with all the complaints about what is going on here NO one is spreading the word! WHY ?????

I got a similar call yesterday and you would think by age 80 I would know not to give out routing or account numbers to anybody.  They opened by telling me they would be sending a senior's medical card in about 15 days that I should carry with my medical insurance card. At the time it was noisy around my phone, his English was worse than outsourced, and I was actually trying to keep the call going.
It surprised me how much they already knew about me.  But they needed one more thing: my banking account number with routing number, and I was dumb enough to tell him.  Instantly I realized things were not on the up and up, even though he was willing to tell me they were not governmental organization.  His "supervisor,"  speaking Indian Outsource, gave me a Customer Service number (866-505-7925) but an unintelligible name for their company.  But when I asked her to spell out the words, she began to mock my voice and hung up the phone.  When I called back I got the same treatment and she again hung up.
Thus, my 45 year bank account is moribund and I will start another, with new checks and notifications to auto-pay  I have limited mobility but I can get a ride.

I work for a bank and I just had a customer stop in today telling me about this call she received and it is word for word exactly what happened to you Jim. After a small amount of research we are closing her accounts and opening new ones. Please NEVER give anyone banking information over the phone as I see this scam on senior citizens day in and day out. Be careful.

Received a call last night informing me they would be mailing a ''SENIOR MEDICAL CARD" soon.  When I asked who requested their card, he said it is for seniors medical use.  I said "I don't think so" and promptly hung up the phone.

I just got a call from Senior Medical Group.  The women, with a heavy accent, informed me that the card was a government card going to all senior citizens.  She just needed to verify who I was.  I had t verify my address, telephone number THEN  my bank account!  I hung up!
