- Chuck replies to JerryReceived 30 flourescent bulbs that this company (Interstate Supply) wanted us to pay $582 for. When told it was ridiculous, they reduced it to $291. Again we told them it was too much, they lowered it again to $150. Found identical bulbs on the internet for $1.15 to $1.51 each. Stay away from this company.
- elliot4Acted like she knew me personally, expressed to my co-workers it was necessary for me to call her, very very important, elated concerns for our electrical system at the church.

- SpikeCalled the Church were I work multiple times and I never called back. Eventually got my home number and called me there. Scammed me to buy overpriced light bulbs.

- MikeThese guys called our church and got my name as the chairman of our Building and Grounds committee. Same story as the others, pretended to be helping out, had a great deal on "industrial grade" lamps, 7 year warranty, Blah, Blah, Blah. When I asked how much, they kept bragging about how good they are, what a great deal it was. I told them to hold any order, I would check with our finance group to see if we could afford new light bulbs. Within 10 seconds he was off the phone.

- SeanSame story as everyone else. Called our church and tried to dupe me into purchasing light bulbs. Called back awhile later and canceled after I thought about the phone conversation. Customer service was very abrupt when I told them I wanted to cancel.

- anonymousRead all about "Unordered merchandise" here http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/products/pro15.shtm which states:
"Q. Am I obligated to return or pay for merchandise I never ordered?
A. No. If you receive merchandise that you didn’t order, you have a legal right to keep it as a free gift." - ToddGot this message at the church
Randy from Interstate Electric called and wanted you to call- Caller: Interstate Electric

- Teresa RyanThey called our church once and asked for the maintenance person, that we had a shipment waiting but they needed to clarify something. We received a lot of bulbs and unfortunately did not catch the bill and paid it. We learned a huge lesson from that. They continue to call and I just take the name and number. I am very careful these days in asking more questions than giving answers.
I do not recommend these people at all. They say they are Intrastate but also use other aliases. such as Electrical Warehouse, most of the time it is from a Randy at this number. They try slick ways to get information out of you...like the name of your supervisor or maintenance person or what size bulbs you use, etc.
They just don't know that God is a God of "justice" and they will have consequences given their actions.- Caller: Intrastate Electric

- David H.Same Story... Blah blah blah.. Sent a box of 30 light bulbs for almost $600! Sent bulbs back, they tried to charge us for return shipping! FAT CHANCE!!!
Stay far away, these guys are scammers!!!!!- Caller: Interstate Electric
- Owen S.Same story. Called our church and someone gave out a name of someone who does maintenance at the church. They sent out a box of 25 bulbs and sent a bill for over $500. Then they sent a bill for about $222. I negotiated them down to $50, then saw this website and will not send them any money now.
We have since instituted a policy of giving out no names on a cold call. Beware of these scammers.- Caller: Interstate Supply Co. Upperco, Md.
- BlessedSame story as all above. This company called the church and our maintenance man did talk to the salesperson about the bulbs at first but when finding out the price ( $567.44 for 30 bulbs !!) he said he was not interested. The salesman would NOT take no for an answer resulting in our maintenance man having to resort to hanging up on the guy. A week later we got the bulbs. I sent the invoice with a note saying we did not order the bulbs and they were welcome to pick them up. (Remember-- unordered merchandise is considered a free gift-- you are under no obligation to return the merchandise- but being a church we always try to do the right thing). The "owner" called me yesterday and without going into full detail-- he tried to be very intimidating and convincing that we ordered these bulbs. He almost had me believing that our man and his salesman must have just misunderstood each other. I came to work this morning and decided to do a search on this company and came accross this web site. WOW-- thank you for all your posts. It seems as though they target churches. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!

- Anonymous replies to Jerry| 1 replySame deal, charged us $567.44 for 25 flourescent bulbs (normally $1.29 a piece). We will be returning all bulbs, will not be paying this bill! Scamming churches, should be ashamed of themselves!!!
- Church SecretarySame experience as everyone else. A very pushy woman named "Randi" called at this telephone number and asked to speak to the head of maintenance at the church. When I said that the person is a volunteer and does not have office hours, she became very aggressive and asked for the maintenance person's name. I said I did not feel comfortable giving out his name, so she wanted me to write down her name and a call back number, and that I was to make sure he called her back. I wrote down the number she gave, only so I could look it up and I am so glad I did!
Looked up "Interstate Electric" online and it is a digital sign company in the western US states. We are located in Ohio, so I cannot imagine what they would want to talk with us about.
Felt very uncomfortable talking to her and do not plan to pass her info along.- Caller: Interstate Electric

- Rev.Glen HalleadReceived a call from a woman claiming to be "Randi" and wanting to talk to the Head of our Property Committee. (Asked for him by name...). When I reported he wasn't available, she asked that I give him her number and have him return her call, that it was important...
When I checked this site I was surprised... Good calls folks. Thanks for the input. They seem to be identifying churches as a "weak link."- Caller: Interstate Supply
