- Jill| 5 repliesLeft a voice message for my husband & myself. Said it was a fraud issue. Asked me to call. I called 866-518-0213. When I called, they asked for me to enter my phone number with area code. I did. Then they asked for my 6 digit account number. I hung up and called my credit union. Very suspicious.
- very annoyedthis phone number keeps calling my cell phone, 5-7 times a day! its an automated system telling me they are calling on behalf of my credit union (which i dont use) then ask for my zipcode then to enter in my account number. i called the number back and it was automated again so i pressed 0 then it rang and took me to a live person and talked to a woman named katie and she asked for my account number. told her to stop calling my number and if they did ONE MORE TIME i would be calling our local police dept and report them for harassment and attempted fraud
- Caller: credit union
- Eddy| 1 replyLeft a message on my phone extension and ask me to call back at this toll free number. I called instead at our credit union and was told to ignore it. Must be a scam!
- Captain Obvious replies to EddyYour credit union doesn't service your card, a subcontracted financial servicing company does. Your credit union has no information regarding what you have, or have not, purchased on the card. They only know the balance because it is connected to your online banking account balance detail page. That's it. If your credit union actually told you to ignore a call from a financial institution (calling on concern for *your* safety and privacy by the way) you need to look for a new place bank. That is ridiculously reckless advice. Even if they suspected it was a phony call wouldn't they want to look into it for the safety and privacy of other clients? You talked to a dumb@$$ clerk who didn't know what they were talking about who also gave you terrible advice.
Call the number on the back of your credit card and ask to speak to their security department. It's that simple. - Ohplease| 4 repliesThis number is a company called the Members Group who partners with Financial Institution to mitigate fraud losses. They are trying to validate transactions on your Credit or Debit card to stop fraudulent activity. If you are concerned when you call this number please call the number on the back of your card and speak with the Financial Institution.
If they are calling the wrong number then you just need to call so they can update the record/account they are truly trying to reach. - San Diego| 2 repliesBEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They left a message on home phone stating their may be fraudulent charges on my credit card and when I called back - spoke to someone named Matt X6312; they asked to verify credit card number; last 6 numbers of SS#, date of birth. I would not give out any information other than the phone number they called me on.
Called my credit card company and they don't use that 3rd party and verified that the number 866-518-0213 was not a company they use. - WDSM IA| 4 repliesWhen you ask your financial institution about the phone call, please make sure that you are asking a person that would know about a fraud monitering company. The average teller or person you would speak to on the phone may not
- Caller: The Members Group
- Erin replies to Jill| 3 repliesPlease always feel free to contact your credit union...we are 3rd party service provider for them. We are with a company called the members group. They should know who we are.
- TMG replies to San Diego| 1 replyPlease call your financial institution and let them know you recieved a phone call from The Members Group's Fraud Dept. They will know who we are.
- Scott replies to WDSM IA| 1 replyThese guys are LEGIT!!!!!! I just called them back, and they are lifesavers! Someone tried to access my account and they recognized it as fraudulent activity. If these guys call you CALL THEM BACK! They're looking out for you, and they do a darn good job of doing it!
- mandy| 1 replythey're real. they just check to make sure you're the one making the transactions. i had random purchases so the computer must've picked it up. just hit zero so you don't have to enter in any info, you'll get a real person.
- KevinIt is legit. Just got the call about fraudulent activity and checked here then called my Credit Union. Turned out a magazine subscription (Make Magazine) was trying to renew using the wrong expiration date on my card so it showed up as suspicious activity and was blocked. Just so happen I do want to renew so calling got it unblocked.
Nice service!- Caller: SDCCU
- UNFCU memberI also received a call and was requested to return the call to 866 518 0213. I have spoken then to FCU rep who has confirmed that number from this request. I have provided the requested information and waited for a while to get a response.
i did not find this activity as suspicious one, just this should have been arranged through the bank directly, not a third party.- Caller: on behalf of UNFCU, Fraud Department
- Not From IowaThis is legit phone call. I spoke with a gentleman this morning about my account at IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union and everything they said was accurate. This is not a fraudulent service.

- Jack| 6 repliesThese guys are FRAUDS! Can't call someone requesting information on something that doesn't exist. Any advice being given here through this blog I wouldn't trust. These same people could be the same ones trying to convince you or us they are real and really do exist when in reality they don't and are phony and fraudulent 100%.
Use smart sense and NEVER provide any info via phone when requested to do so through any received voicemail. Contact your financial institution as well as the # that is located on the reverse side of your credit card and then check your account activity yourself. Remain vigilant of your own account activity on a routine basis, daily if need be.
Good luck to you all. - John| 1 replyI got a voice message asking me to call back because there had been suspicious bankcard activity. Regardless of whether it was a legitimate call or not, asserting your identity over the phone (or e-mail) just doesn't work anymore. You have to be able to *prove* that you are who you say you are. When I call the cable company, I have to prove that I am who I say I am. Companies calling me have to do the same thing. If they want me to call a number, it had better be one that is print on the back of my card or a number that I can independently verify as legitimate.
- harassedI should have let my answering machine -- do its answering; as that be why ZI have it.
But instead, I chose to answer -- quickly enuff without looking at the caller i.d.
"800 SERVICE" + the ph# of this website.
As I held the receiver -- NO SOUND.
Hence, no asking to me about 'any transactions' that I had done.
I had held the receiver against my ear for 3-4 seconds; the silence was so consistent.
Going by previous harassment calls, I thought it was a political party -- that has repeatedly called me.- Caller: "800 SERVICE"
