      So I just called back that number & it said it's for John McCain, but when I answer there's no one there, what kind of campaign is this for? It's pointless!!!

          it is bs, but republicans more often use dirty tricks like this.  I'm sure McCain's forgotten his memory pills and will have the messages stopped as soon as his handlers give him his meds.

      It's an automated call line.  If you had let it go into your voicemail you would have received a recorded message from the Republican National Committee with a rapidly spoken number at the end 202-863-8500.  Call 202-863-8743 for their member services line and give them your number to have them add to their "do not call" list.  Better yet, remind them (like I did) that you are on the National Do Not Call registry and that they are in violation.

      This sort of cellphone call is permitted, unfortunately, when politicians do it.  When I saw the 866 area code, I just hit the IGNORE button and then looked the number up at whitepages.com.  There was nothing there, so then I Googled it.  There was PLENTY there.  Plenty of irate people.

    They call several times a day I do not answer because I'm an online day trader and don't have time to fool around with idiots.  Finally I was so sick and tired of them calling I called them back pressed 0 for the operator and asked to please be removed from their call list. She took my phone number said it would take 24-48 hours to remove me from the system but as long as they stop calling that's fine with me!  She told me they were working for AT&T.  I'd suggest everyone try calling them back and requesting your phone number be removed from their data bank as well.  I don't know if they will or not but at least it's worth a try
