does anyone know who this number belongs to?  You can't leave a message on it.

They keep calling but no answer on returned calls. Very frustrating!

Telemarketers in Mexico.  They apparently do not have to abide by the US Do Not Call list..

This is an organized criminal organization claiming to be a Canadian collection agency called Nor-Don. 866-525-6407 is one of several of their 866 numbers.

NEVER respond to their calls found on your answering machine.

Contrary to above statements agents will speak to you if you call. If you do call, they receive your personal information just like those of you with Caller ID see limited information about the party calling you. They see much more, including owner of the phone line, your address, province or state and country.

They are seeking to confirm your identity, and because they claim to be a collection agency will want seek your financial information.

The best advice I can give to victums of this telephone harassment is:
- NEVER phone them
- report the number to law enforcement
- law enforcement will likely tell you to file a complaint with organizations such as phonebusters.com or recol.ca(Canada)

I've got many calls on my cell phone from this number! Driving me crazy. At all sort of different times of the day. I had sort of heard something about a phone scam like this from the tv, so I've never called it back as it seemed weird to me. So glad that I didn't! I just don't know how to get them to stop calling my number!

I recieved a voicemail, but not actual call.   It told me I had a very important message.  I had been getting other calls and trying to get off of their list so I called back.  I was on hold forver.

Looking at above post with the Caller ID: 416: This is the number that I started getting calls from first.  They would call for Mary Anderson and then give me options.  When I would try to get off of their list it would tell me that no one was available or that it was a holiday (random Monday) and to call back at a better time, but would not give me a number.  I called my phone company and they had no record of this number even calling me so they could not do anything about it because I did not have the full phone number.

- have been receiving calls from this number and other 866 numbers that are from the same people

- called back and one of their agents was really mean

- agent said i would be taken off their list because i was not the person they're after

- now they are leaving threatening messages
- these new messages can't be traced by *57 which is for police
- this is terrifying me

Well, I had been getting calls from "416" but never bothered to answer them and now this morning I got one from 866-525-6407, and didn't bother to answer.  I'm glad I googled the number!

They called my cell phone twice and left an automated message about having important info for me. It showed up in caller ID as 416. I called back on my home phone.  I called back at the 866 number they left.  A man answered and would not identify himself or his company.  He wanted my phone number.  I hung up.  I then called back because I wanted my number removed from the call list.  The same guy answered.  When I was uncooperative, he put a woman on the phone.  Again, she needed my phone number.  She couldn't "pull my account" and needed my last name.  She read off an address that didn't belong to me and said she would send my phone number to her supervisor for removal from the list.  I doubt that though.  I again asked for her company name, and she couldn't give it to me because I was not who they thought I was.  It was very shady, and I dread more calls to come.

Received a message and tried to call back three times this evening (prior to the 9:00pm closing time they stated in message).  No answer - just got someone's answering machine.

Wish I had Googled first.

Getting call from 1-866-525-6407 stating there is an important message but when called back, it reaches a person's voice mail. Someone should do something.

I receieved similar calls (almost a dozen) on my cellphone in past 1 month or so. An automated voice will just leave a message in voicemail. I got so mad that today I decided to call them back. I called the 800 number. A guy answered after 10 minutes. He started asking for my personal information for ID. Right away I said I wanted to know who those guys were first and why am I getting these nuisance calls all the time? You know what, the guy hung up! I am sure they are gonna call back. Funny thing is I am registered with donotcall.org list! I want to find out what can we do to stop these s**tty people from clogging our phones!

Similar story - daily messages on the home line "important message blah blah". The voicemail stamp is from '416'. I've never called back. Glad to confirm my suspicions.

Numerous calls left on my home phone. I finally returned call to get them to stop calling, but only got a voice message from "Mr. Anderson".

Oh yeah, 2 calls from them already; they've called us before looking for a "Gary" twice; both times I stayed on to tell them "There IS no Gary here nor has there ever been, do not call this number, cease immediately."  Looks like I know exactly what my next step is going to be.
