- audCall from Indian accented man named Jason Smith. Mr. "Smith" was virtually unintelligible but I understood that there was a serious internet infection in my neighborhood and I should let them remotely clear it for me. After several alarming seconds, I understood them to be a malicious and stupid scam.
- Caller: ARJUNAA INTERNET SECURITY
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Tessa N.I've gotten two calls from this scam company. The phone company wouldn't do anything about it. They gave me the number of the FCC. No help there either.
- Caller: Arjunaa Internet Security

- P.Powers866 539-8674- If you receive a call with a caller id of 212 438-7895 and the caller is advising that they want you to go on your computer because you have a virus, it is a scam. The call back number they give is 866 539-8674. when you call the number in India the person states that you are calling Arjunaa Internet Security. The call is a total scam. Do not allow computer access and report the call.
Telephone # 212 438-7895 was a valid number that they have spoofed. This means that the caller ID will show that number however the call is actually ovreseas and has nothing to do with that number used fraudulently.- Caller: The McGraw-Hill Companies
- CarolI was called by this number today and the person identified himself as Peter from Best Help. When I asked for a number to investigate the company, the caller was very defensive saying, "What do you want to investigate?" He still stuck with the scam until the end saying they couldn't be issued an 800 number if the company wasn't legitimate.
- Caller: The McGraw-Hill Companies
- "Fooled"| 6 repliesI received this call, and allowed computer access. They cleaned up my computer, and it does run much faster, also they gave me a few different tools to fight spyware, etc. However, when I gave them my information to get paid, it somehow messed up on their end, and the transaction did not go through. But, since then I've found out what everyone else now knows; that this is a SCAM. I will not do a follow up and pay them, so what happens now? Since they had access to my computer, will they now corrupt my computer, or place somekind of virus in it? I guess I will just have to wait and see, and then take it to be cleaned here in the States. I was "Fooled" and I was a fool for falling for this SCAM, however in my defense, they were very, very smooth and almost got away with it. I might have to spend money to get my computer cleaned, but at least I did not pay them. I was almost "Totally Convinced."
- Caller: The McGraw-Hill Companies
- they already have put malware replies to "Fooled"| 1 replyon your computer - that was the point of the call- to get access and infect it
- P.Powers replies to "Fooled"| 3 repliesIf you are receiving telephone calls with the caller id displaying telephone # 212 438-7895 please be advised that it is a scam. The scammers may ask you to call back at telephone # 866 539-8674 which claims to be a company," Arjunaa Internet Security". After interviewing several people the caller has identified themselves initially from McGraw-Hill. Once again the call is a scam and they want access to your computer and credit card and may be installing viruses in your computer.
Please do not fall for this scam.
The telephone # 212 438-9875 was shut down however the scammers continue to use it via spoffing on the caller id. We have put the number back in service only to alert the public of the scam. Authorities have been alerted and investigating further.
Please report the scam to the FCC. They will not investigate complaints reported by corporations. If enough reports are filed with the FCC by the public they will review further as per the FCC. Please report the calls to The Federal Communications Commission: 1 888-225-5322. It does not matter if you are on the Do Not Call list. It appears they are calling from India and the Do Not Call list is disregarded.
Also, please report the incident to your local law enforcement officials and notifiy credit card companies and banking institutions if you have supplied them with any financial information.
Thank you,

I'm an employee of arjun group of industries in a similar outbound call center.
I'm now disclosing all our company's secret out here because I'm feeling guilty to be part of a very big scam and don't want my country's name to tarnish. The MD of arjun group of industries is Mr. Ankit Jaiswal.
We are totally a scam and we have three processes namely The UK process where we are required to scam the nice people of the UK. The second is the US process where the same thing is done to the US people and last but not the least they recently introduced an austrailian process.
well the scamming first starts with a phone call from a british accented indian. he says " Hello I'm david (my alias name) am i speaking with ... (Your last name) then starts to tell that ur computer might have downloaded a very dangerous online infection that is very dangerous for ur computer and they came to know all about it after they saw ur IP address was blinking in their server system.
after a lot of talks they ask for money.
Facts:
1. Those errors and warnings are nothing but page faults in the operating system. Windows just logs it down.
2. There is nothing as the open gateway of the internet from where these so called infections can come.
3. There is nothing as the International Server System. These gys buy your telephone number from various companies.
4. Your IP (Internet Protocol) address cannot blink coz its not something which can report anything. Its just the identification of ur computer in the network.
DOs'
1. Hang Up the phone as soon as u hear any of rthose above said dialogues.
2. Never ever download anything or do anything they tell u to do so.
3. DO NOT CONNECT UR COMPUTER REMOTELY. DO NOT GO TO
(i) www.logmein123.com
(ii) www.ammyy.com
4. Do not ever give ur credit card details or fill any of the claimed Secured Banking Form from them. because if u come to this point then they would be able to see anything ur doing with the computers as ur computer is already connected.
please please do read it once and ask if u have any queries...
It really feels bad because of some lowlifes INDIA's name is tarnished in front of all.

Call Type: Telemarketer - P.Powers replies to P.Powers| 1 replyPlease be advised that this scam company changes their name constantly. Yesterday it was Best Company. They may call back a number which the caller id displays 866 539-8674. Usually the person calling back is aggressive and trying very hard to have you allow them access to your computer. Once again, do not fall for their scam. They are not affiliated at all with The McGraw-Hill Companies.
Please report the scam to the Federal Communications Commission:

- CMI was called by this number tonight and the person identified himself as Matthew Taylor from First Help. He said my computer was higly infected and proceeded to advice me of what I should do. When I asked for a number to call him back, he gave me 866-539-8674 and said not to speak to anyone else but him. He's still waiting for me to call him back.

- Derek| 5 repliesMy mom got fooled by this scam today. She was having trouble with her computer and had put in a call to her ISP, so it seemed logical to her when the caller said that Yahoo had given them her number. Caller said he was with Best Help and gave this 866#. I just spent an hour on the phone with my mom changing all her passwords. Caller got her to login to that 123logmein.com mentioned above. She got nervous at that point that it might be a scam and hung up. My mom still wasn't convinced it was a scam until I read these entries to her. Thanks to everyone who posted here. The info was very helpful.
