I was just on a website that said these people are pushing "membership" in their organization which is supposed to be free, but it costs $89 to $500.  The 8 people who had responded didn't seem to be very happy.  They sounded more like telemarketers.

Do NOT give your credit card information to this organization.  If you Google the website, you will find all sorts of reports against it.

When they called me today, it's because I applied for a free membership. They said I could list my business and that's free, but nothing else in it is. They started out saying the annual fee was $400+. Then she came down to $200-something, then $89. When I said I couldn't even afford $89, she kind of laughed and hung up. BTW, asking if I could think about it and call back was not an option, it was right now or never. That's always a BIG warning sign, I would think. They also said this was an elite membership. But they've called me for months trying to get me to join.

My husband received a call today on his private cell phone asking for me from a with held telephone number.  A female stated she was from the National Association of Professional Women.  She stated that she obtained the number from an application I filled out, which is not true. I applied for a free membership and gave them a business telephone number.  She gave a call back number of 1-866-540-6279 EXT. 249 for a Margarita Chavez.  After furthure checking the web I found that this organization has a tremendious amount of SCAM Alerts and possible fraud cases.

Oh my stars!  I received a phone call from them yesterday.  The woman who called had the personality of a bigfoot!  She had no sense of humor whatsoever; which alone, turned me off of ever joining a thing like that.  I was astonished when, after hearing of my degrees, awards, etc, she told me that she was going to recommend that I be a club of the month member; woo hoo! LOL  But then, after I told her that I wasn't too keen on the $689 she wanted, she said that she could accept $489; oh! what a bargain!  When I hemmed and hawed at that, she would take $289.  Oh come on lady! I mean really?  Finally, after listening to her command that I join, I told her that I would do no such thing without first speaking with my husband about siging up for anything.  She then proceeded to try to convince me that, being a professional woman, I shouldn't have to speak with anyone about my decision making.  Good grief.
At any rate, I'm certainly glad I made the decision, yes without speaking to my husband first (lol), that I didn't need to join such a group of "professional women".  Wise choice.

They called the first time on June 10.  After reading the reports here, I called back telling them DO NOT CALL.

I got another call today and reported them to the FCC for Do Not Call violations.

Like other callers they wanted me to join the "premier" association but couldn't tell me any info about what I would receive for the $400.  When I turned it down, they dropped the price to $200, then down to $89.

Sounded like a real scam.... Reported them to the DNC list.

I have contacted the Better Business Bureau about this organization. It took months to try to get them to credit my account for a charge I didn't authorize. I'm still in the process of waiting to see if they are actually going to make good with crediting my account. These people are unbelievable. Guess the first warning sign should have been any organization that reaches out to you from an unlisted number.

Thanks to everyone for sharing your posts. Please encourage other people you know not to do business with them.

a rep called from there  trying to get me to buy a package for 500 dollars. i had no idea who they even were, very pushy, really trying to get my credit card number and they wanted to put me in a magazine. i was like well send me a copy, send me the information and perhaps i will consider they kept on talking said it was only good for that day. so i hung up actually. Screw em.. if they want me to pay them spit in one hand wish in the other. What professional woman would do that. usually you send out the information, people can elect to send you a business check or business something but not over the phone. please i would be an idiot to do that.

yes i know i saw that in a magazine or at the office someplace. i filled it out because i like to find out about other women in business, go to meetings, socials, and so forth. BUt I had not thought anything about it. I always put business number on there. I am trying to figure out how they got my home number. I hopefully didnt get confused and put it down. anyway. i am not buying that.

I actually joined this org for a year and there was some good content, helpful articles, etc. but what really turned me off was when I got an automated message that the charges for my automatic renewal did not go through on my credit card. I had NEVER authorized an automatic renewal. Fortunately, the card I had used was lost and had to be replaced. All they had was the old cc number, so they could not charge me. After reading all these posts, I'm glad I decided not to renew. I think they are a decent organization, but whomever they hired to do their marketing is doing them more harm than good.

The same happened to me today. First they invite you to join the Assocation for free, you send them all the information and after that you receive a phone call. The aldy was very nice on the phone but after i said i was not going to give my credit card details on the phone she became very nasty, i just said cancel everything and i hung up the phone. Please alert when someone calls you or sends you any mail from this organization.

Little shyts got to me too
Nicole Nadeau at 866-540-6279 used her sweet valley girl voice to make me believe that she was sincere, humble but then BOOM she told me the price, $509. I asked her to send me an email of my joining so that I could get my boss to repay me. She never did. She called on Friday. Monday I called back to dispute the charge because I never received the email nor information informing me that this was a "non refundable charge." They say it so quick and you aren't given written consent so how could you continue to authorize it. When I called on Monday, I spoke with a man named Craig who was verbally abuse and who even had the nerve to give me a discount from 509 to 287. I said, "no" that I want ALL my money refunded. He was extremely adamant and obnoxious with me. I did hear the recording of what I said but still, I never received the email. I told him that I would see him in court! I called back and spoke to Lisa Brooks and she told me that she would only charge my card $161.45. I called my credit card company. The entire situation is in dispute. AMEX said that they will get to the root of this and get my $$ back.

What makes me angrier is that they told me that I would have to pay more money for the elite membership to get access to courses that cost $200 or more. I told them that I wasn't interested and that the basic membership was all that I wanted.

When I called back they said, we never said that. They said all their seminars and courses are free. So this is why with all these stories that I know this company isn't legit. I thought they were legit only because I quickly saw a pretty website but as we know pretty can always be deceptive!

I want my money back. I complained already to the Better Business Bureau which I am now finding out isn't that legitimate because if you aren't a "member" of their organization that you do get a poor rating. So, the other step was for me to file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office of New York State which I did here: http://www.ag.ny.gov/resource_center/complaints/complaints.html

I just got a call today, but I didn't answer and I'm glad I have read this post. I few months ago I signed up for the "free" membership after receiving application in the mail, and I received a call from someone asking me for more information before they can "process" my application. I (fortunately) had some work to do and couldn't talk to them at that moment. But what got me is that she/they called about six times from (blocked numbers) the moment I said I couldn't talk to the moment I actually told her/them to call me back. That was abnoxious, so I never did answer my phone. Thank you all for posting your stories here, or I might have actually answered a call from them and listened to their spiel, only I would have definitely hung up when he/she started talking about any money!

I had the same experience as TP.  Fortunately, I screen all unknown or blocked calls at work because I get a lot of telemarketers in my job as a training manager.  If I don't know who it is, I don't pick up.  Anyway, they called again just now (displayed as "unknown") and a few seconds later my cell rang.  I saw the 866 number and looked it up, which led me to this blessed site.  So much for a National Association for Professional Women!!  Maybe we should start our own association of professional women (and one man) who refuse to be scammed!

I just had an encounter with this "professional" group.  My sales rep/recruiter was Robin and she did not know how to listen.  She belongs in the used car industry.  Anyone who wants you to join on a dime is no good,
