Supposed to be a number for a staffing agency but every time i call i only get a busy signal or disconnected tone. Wondering if the agency is a scam?

Same thing happened to me.

I received an email from this supposed head Hunter for a job in baton rouge. When I call, I get a busy signal. Now I ask you all, when was the last time you heard a busy signal? I smell a scam.

The # listed as call back in two emails I have received for the last to days offering me a job. At first the I am excited because the email looks so professional and the website is well created. The job is also respectable one that I applied for on Career Builder  (about to stop using them, they don't screen at all. This is like the third time someone like this has tried to contact me.) it is also a well above minimum wage as it was listed @ 13-27 USD per hr. It started to seem too good to be true. The email made no mention of a return email or call eventhough it listed both. It simply stated that they got my resume and they looking to fill some position. It does advise to check out website. Website has pic of head guy of company which is also supposedly the guy who sent the email. Why would the top guy @ the company be doing all the companies work himself? All sudden the next email advises that they are unable to have direct contact through emails. What reputable placement company can you not have ongoing communications with through email? So I guess they can send you all kind of emails (possibly generated and sent out automatically) but can't receive, see or respond to any you receive. Still, I send emails indicating I am interested even though my spider sense is telling me something is off about this. So I decide to call the listed # to just chat with this Patrick Scott person but all I get is a busy tone at all hours throughout the day. I look @ my phone and think WTF no business has just one 866 line that has no voice mail or operator or something. I still somehow convince myself they might just be having problems so I call all day with the same result. Not sure what is going on here but don't think I want to work for or with them anyway to shady. I'm quitting this "job placement co." Block and delete is my next move. This is just too fishy and wasting my valuable time!

I also received an email from Patrick Scott stating that he would like to speak with me about a possible job offering. I responded back to his first email and then the next day received another email which looks computer generated stating to click a link to go to his online calendar and schedule a time later this week that would be good for me. I clicked the link and it took me to a page where I needed to download the software for his calendar. Something tells me I don't think I should have done that. Although my antivirus software did not flag the download, I still think something is up. At the bottom of the page it looks as though you can schedule the appointment but when you click on it nothing happens. I sent another email to Patrick Scott advising that the link does not work and that it appears to be a possible scam. I advised him if he would like to speak with me to please provide me a day and time and I would make myself available. In the meantime, I'm concerned about what I downloaded. I think I may have become a victim of a scam

Same thing happened to me.  Patrick Scott sent me an email about me being a candidate for a job that was exactly what I was searching for.  Then sent me another link asking me to use his scheduler - which does not work at all.   Also tried calling the 866# and only got a busy dial tone.  Something is very off here.  Blocking his emails from now on.

Same goes for me.  OSHA Safety Coordinator.  I have attempted the scheduling calendar and as everyone else has mentioned, DOES NOT WORK !!  I sent several emails over the last 6 days stating that the calendar does not work and to please give me a call.  You guessed it, I have heard nothing !!  I also called the 866-547-8211 at least 6 times, got the busy signal a few times and then got the 45 second recording that preaches of all of the Great qualities the  company has, then asks you to dial the persons extension if you know it (right, and where could you have possibly gotten that?).  Anyway, I left several voice messages requesting a call back.   Surprise,  no response.  I even went to the company webpage and submitted a request about contacting me directly.  Surprise, Again no response.
So I finally opened my eyes to the obvious, Something is really not right here !!

Its some type of scam and I can't figure it out.
About 4 months ago I got the same type email you'll are getting from Gerald Garrison, AQUENT Staffing & Talent Consulting Solutions asking to schedule a telephone interview, the on line calendar does not work, phone number does not work, address listed does not exist...so I emailed the guy back listing all this and asked what his scam was and never heard back from them, until now.
Today, I got the same email crap except this time from FMC about the same job from 4 months ago and the list of available jobs is IDENTICAL to the AQUENT Staffing & Talent Consulting Solutions website...
DO NOTHING WITH EITHER OF THESE COMPANIES/EMAILS, its worthless.

Yes same thing here Baton Rouge. Yet, I didn't download anything wasn't falling for that. So I email him back and never heard anything back. So I know its a came.

BS oversea foreign country scam. I notice I start receiving after I ordered online for oversea vendors smh. Will not order again will keep it local.

Total scam!! DO NOT reply or respond to these emails.

My story looks about the same as everyone else here on this page!! TOTAL scam...do not fall prey to this!!

I too received an email from Patrick Scott stating that he saw my resume on CareerBuilder. He wanted me to apply for an Imaging Technologist position that he had available in St. Louis. After multiple attempts of trying to reach him via email and that 866 number that is listed in the email I realized that it was a scam. Do not send them your resume or anything!

I received spam emails from this patrick scott guy. He claims to be a recruiter from FMC Talent and Search Group, with the same phone number listed here.  It's very well worded [***]. He somehow taps into job sites and knows what positions you are looking for to get your attention.  The link is a redirect trick.  No not click any links, respond to emails, or return their calls.  Report the email address as spam and report on sites like this to make people more aware.

I received an email from Patrick Scott to, for a Help Desk Specialist. I did email him stating was this job offer in Chicago Illinois if so what location? He replied back sending me how they are a huge company worldwide, and they looking for a position to be filled in Chicago Illinois. I thought that was WIERD because if I'm asking you a question were is the job located you kept telling me, you stated it earlier in your email to read the job description. And if I had any questions give him a call, he said he found my resume through their database. Then to schedule so he can call me later thus week, go on his website calendar, and I had to download something but it didn't work. He kept on sending me a link about himself and the job description. So I read  that I would go through with training and most description of the job. I just called the phone number 866-547-8211 to see if I would get the same results as you guys, however I didn't get a busy signal, I got  an recording saying "how important they are,  and to the customers" . but it didn't say ANYTHING about the company which, I thought it was weird because most business company's would introduce themselves to the customers on a voice recoding. Then the recording said if I didn't know my extension then press 0 to talk to the receptionist. I didn't try any further because once I called the number the recording it self in beginning sounded very weird, VERY WIERD so my gut told me not be bother with it. I'M GLAD I READ THESE COMMENTS ON THIS WEBSITE AND DID MY RESEARCH.
