nan13 Apr 2009- 1-886-533-8166 is the ph# for a scavenger debt collection agency. they buy old debt for pennys on the dollar and try to harrass you into to paying. they often mascarade as lawyers offices to intimidate you. Check the Statute of Limitations for debt collection and tell them to go way. As far as having your phone # on a don't call list, they don't care because they don't follow the laws. Quite often, they already know the debt is to old to collect on but they're hoping you don't know it They'd pull their Grandma out of the grave to collect from her. That't why they're called scavengers.. AND NEVER, EVER ADMIT TO THEM THAT YOU OWE THEM ANYTHING!!!
- Umm, no, incorrect. The correct answer is 8665538166 is a free service of locating schools in the area as well as online. They don't ask for a credit card number or a social security number or anything. It's an automatic Dialer, so when you call in and say hello, most likely it hasn't even reached a representative yet, or the automatic dialer thinks you are not a person. They are required to leave messages, if they don't leave messages, they get in trouble and perhaps even fired. They're not a collections agency, or a we want your money agency. They get paid by the schools to get the schools well known, or in contact with potential students. If you ask them to Please stop calling, then that's your own fault because you have to mention to be taken off some sort of List, the internal list, the do not call list, as long as you say the word list, they are required to take you off the list, which by the way also takes up to 48 hours to be removed because it is an automatic dialer, so if you recieved a call within that time, just disreguard it and if you get called after that time, you ask to speak with a supervisor, it's as simple as that.

- webber19 Apr 2009This has been happening to me for the last 2 days. My number is registered with the Do Not Call list. I despise telemarketers calling my cell phone; I don't want to pay for a call for something I have no interest in. I much prefer to "pull" than be the recipient of a "push".
As for the experience, if CareerAdvisor thinks that calling repeatedly and hanging up is a good marketing strategy, the outbound lead generation person needs to find a new job because, clearly they have no idea what they're doing. If it's an IT problem, the campaign needs to be halted immediately until it's fixed. Annoying your prospects won't turn them into customers. - xford1 May 2009
- Cpt G6 May 2009Call came in and no discussion. They hung up after around 30 seconds. Registered all phone numbers on national no-call list. Information sent to attorney. My advice for your career, Career Advisor, shut down and do like the rest of us. Look for a real job.

- Pat20 May 2009Like I told the idiot that called my home a few minutes ago.I know for a fact that the person he was asking for didn't ask to be contacted about going to school.for one I applied for all of his jobs myself.for 2nd he doesn't even have a G.E.D. and for 3 he already got hired.I asked the guy to remove my phone number from his calling list because he doesn't pay the bills I do.I think yall are scamming people that are looking for jobs using the internet because nobody uses the newspaper to post jobs anymore.I think yall are getting this information online and using it to annoy people and not to help them.I also got a call earlier asking for my son .I know for a fact he doesn't want the calls either because he just Graduated College and owes about 80,000 and he needs a JOB Not to go back to school and owe more money.Stop calling people and wasting our time.leave us the hell alone.
- Tami20 May 2009I tried the email address that they gave and it said the page couldn't be found. I have been getting calls a lot in the past 2 weeks, but they never leave a message. I don't know why they would have my phone number and not sure why they are calling I have been graduated for two months now and if they are calling to check up on my progress with finding a new job they should leave their name at least.
