- whocares!Today, they started with 866-558-2273, 3 times in 4 hours. Never answered any of them, since who could call-me from an 8xx number on the cell that I could care to talk to???
They've tried for over a year to make me change my plan (200mins for 20$, calculated per seconds, but the few times I talked with them, they called me home or sent me a letter, but nobody ever found a better plan for my usage...
As far as I know, the no longer have the right to force you to change your plan with them, so, they try what they can...- Call type: Telemarketer
- Toronto Telus user| 3 replies866-558-2273 @ 2:05pm Sat Aug 11th 2007 It was a missed call, but if I actually used my cell phone (I'm always around a landline) then I'd have flipped my phone open and promptly shut it hanging up on the HOMER SIMPSON wannabe. They'd just get disconnected and if you continue to do this to whoever is calling you they'll 'think' the line isn't working and give up after a while. The trick is to keep doing it EVERY time they call. I use 'DEATH MARCH' ring tone so that I know I have to answer it when it's on and promptly hang up on them.
If that doesn't work answer the phone "Good morning/evening City Morgue, how may I direct your call?" Proceed to ask if they are looking for a specific # for a corpse and play along until they believe you.
Or use your local Police division number and ask how may I direct your call. I'd even go as far as calling the number back and promptly RIP into them about fooling around calling the Morgue or Police station if I was really pissed off. - BruceIf you dial 611 from your Telus Mobile Phone, this is the number you get through to. Telus mobility support.
- Caller: Telus Mobility
- Big DGot a call from 866-558-2273, unrecognized number so I didn't pick up, let it go to VM. They left a VM so I promptly checked it... it was a robotic recording from Telus Mobility Pay & Talk informing me that another number they believed I owned was about to expire. I have never had a Telus Pay & Talk account so it must have been registered to whoever had my phone # prior to me.

- Bart| 2 repliesSpent about 20 minutes talking to a lady I got after calling the #, explaining the problem and she offered to change my home #. She then passed me to someone else who was actually interested in helping and told me that this is essentially a privacy issue with telemarketing (duh). She transferred me to 800-567-0000. Unfortunately the new person was hopelessly lost when I explained things once again, and passed me to another section, commercial complaints. At that point, I was rightly pissed off and asked if I could at least speak to someone with half a brain, which she claimed to have, and I once again explained the whole thing, pointing out that the REAL problem is that the Telus computer system is not speaking when the call is answered. After taking down the information (I hope), the lady just hung up.
Dial tone...time wasted, about 50 minutes.
Satisfaction, zero.- Caller: Telus

- Ryan replies to Bart| 1 replyI am soooooo familiar with waiting on hold with Telus just to be passed from dumb rep to dumb rep, and then disconnected. God I hate them! Of course, it isn't like Bell or Rogers will be any better...they all take take take and give no service in return.
