I've had $2.99 automatically withdrawn from my bank account every month and have no clue why. I've called my bank to have it stopped but they said I have to get a letter from Yahoo Voice, which is billing. How can I get a letter from them when I don't have an account number and I have never authorized automatic payment for this amount each monthly. It's infuriating that they can do this. HELP!

I have had several calls also charged to my account and never authorized. I tried calling this number and it was no longer in service. They were under the account of Yahoo Voice.

Someone has charged my credit card 11 times to Yahoo. Luckily I found it yesterday and was able to have the account at Yahoo closed and had my credit card closed. The first two charges were for 29.90 and the ohter 9 were for 2.00 and other small charges. After calling this number twice I listened to the options and clicked zero twice to get to a human. Then it said I would have to wait 15-30 minutes and to call back later, but stayed on the line and got thru in under two minutes. However this number never called me, I only discovered it by checking my bank statement!!! The bank in turn gave me the number to Yahoo.

I found two charges on my paypal account indicating a debit card signature purchase for this number which I did not make.  They are both for $2.99.  I don't have a clue where they originated from.  I called the number and it is indeed Yahoo, with only a recorded menu.  I am going to have to dispute the charges with PayPal.  I am very curious as to how this happened.

It's Yahoo Voice. Ended up on my credit card for almost $150 in calls. Someone is using the card to make over the net phone calls.

Call your credit card company and tell them that your account has been compromised, close your account and get a new number. Then call Yahoo at that number, press "0", tell the rep what's up and that your account has been closed and to please issue a refund for any outstanding charges made to your account.

    Hey,
I just found a charge on my account that came out of nowhere for $57.53. It was listed under Yahoo Personals. I stopped using Yahoo! a long time ago after it crashed on my computer. When they sent me an email telling me report as fraudulent in the billing department, they said that they couldn't find my account and wanted my credit card number with security code. Of course, I didn't tell him. First he said that the account wasn't valid. After I told him that I just looked it up he said no it works we just need to verify with all of your information. Of course I said NO WAY! After going round and round and he knew that I wasn't giving any personal information he said he couldn't help me because he knew I was busy and didn't want to take any more of my time. I asked to speak to the supervisor and he said only if you give me your credit card number. Then I hung up and looked at the number online and found all of these comments here. There are many others. I don't want them to get away with this. How do you go after them? Can they be stopped?

WOW, same exact thing happened to me.  I noticed the charge on my credit card statement for 19.99, YAHOO*MAIL.  This number was listed on the statement, I called it, went round and round,FINALLY gave them my credit card number, talked w a lady named Belle.  She said the charge was FRAUDULENT and was going to post a refund, and gave me a transaction number for the refund.  I gave them my credit card info (that was THE ONLY WAY they would help), knowing that my credit card company had notified me two weeks earlier that my account had been comprimised and that they were issuing me a new card.  Thank you all for taking the time to post your problems here, it sure helped me!

Just received our daughter's credit card statement. Same thing as all the other complaints. For us it was a $19.99 charge. Called our bank and they said we are not liable for the charge and they will go after Yahoo for collection then they said if it happens again to call them and cancel the account.  I will be waiting on pins and needles now for next month's statement to see what happens. Our daughter has no idea how anyone got her credit card number to do this, she is very protective of her stuff.

This just happened to me today. I checked my online activity and saw a $1.00 charge from Yahoo with this number. I also noticed right above it was a charge for $200 from Kohls.com. My card had obviously been compromised and so I called my bank and they asked me if I contacted Yahoo. I called Yahoo and yes, you have to give them your card number so they can track the purchase. The lady then asked me questions to make sure that it did NOT match what they had on record. They then said they would reverse the charges and told me I should close the card, which I was going to do anyway. This totally sucks!

I haven't had an actual phone call but inquired with my bank what the charge on my account shows them and they gave me the 1-866-562-7228 number and says is Computer Equipment Services.  The number or the company are familiar to me and is not a charge I authorized.  I noticed the charge on my credit card statement for $19.99 as YAHOO*MAIL. I am planning to yet again close my debit card and get a new one re-issued!

I was paying my partners credit card online and found an amount of £18.75 ($29.99) had be debited by Yahoo*Personals..... he rang his credit card immediatly and said that it was an unauthorised payment, so we googled "yahoo*personals" to find it is a US dating website. having searched through the site to find where we could report this to them we eventually found a contact page, emailed them to get a reply that we need to phone them on 866-562-7228 to sort it out.

So my question is.... Do I ring them??? because the cost of the call to them in the US from us in the UK is not going to be a cheap one??? But if I don't is it going to keep happening???

Just double checked my checking account today and had a charge of $47.99 from "Yahoo" at this number.  Looks like somebody got my debit card number. I wish I knew how. I used to have an ATT account with Yahoo DSL, that's the only link I can think of.  I tell you nothing's safe these days.

Call you bank or credit card company first. I wouldn't call this number and give them any credit card info until you do.

If you have this on your credit card statement, it means someone stole your card number and you need to immediately report it and close your account and they will issue you a new card.  The charges are coming from overseas.  They (the bad guys) even have the balls to dispute your claim with the crexdit card company.  What is even more inexcusable is that this has been going on since 2007 and the credit card companies have not stopped it.
