I got a call from this number saying that someone had filed a claim against me, and that I needed to return the call.

Some recorded message asking for my mother.  Further Googling turned up suggests it's Northland Group calling my house. (results c. 2.7 million hits)
It's possibly the same series of phone calls I've been hanging up on since all this debt collection frenzy started.
Often times, an operator won't be available for another 2-3 seconds before they respond, or, they give no response back (completely hung up), they have someone from a different country (outsourced?) operating the switchboard, or one of these recordings with a preset first-and-last-name programmed for that specific phone number.

This number has been calling my home repeatidly.  They either hang up or no one comes to the phone once the robo call has been placed.  They call REALLY early and late as well.  I've had it with them and pray I can find someone who really do something to set them straight!  I've not a clue as to why they are calling here but if you want to make an enemy of me, just call so darn early in the AM or late in the PM and disturb my sleep, esp. if you say nothing!!!
Please, do these complaints that are filed fall on those who care and can make a difference.  I'm thinking that we victims are just helping each other with what little inforation we can obtain.  My heart goes out to all of you who suffer the same.

Its is a robo call. Received the number from call ID traced back to California I think. NEVER listened to the full call. But they used a abbrevation of my name that a used on the net for contests. I am guessing thats how they got my number. Right after that is when the calls started. Just turn off your ringer during your down time. Use two different phone lines if you can. What can we do about this problem?

I got an call from 1-866-572-8794, it was about an old sears credit  card that I did have, I was going to pay them $100 dollars an month, but that was not good enough for them. But by law you can send any amount of money and they should take it.

I also ask them to stop calling my job, an by law they should have stop, but these people think that they can do just do anything.

this number calls me then calls my relative.  they leave messages and it is an actual person leaving the message with a call back number.   they even know the county i work in and say they have filed a claim against me in my local county.  funny thing is..   i work for that county.  there is nothing there filed against me.  its a scam.  do not talk to them.  if you have caller i.d.  make note of the number and dont answer.  if you have a cell phone like me.. i mark the calls as scam set my ringer to that number to  silence and never know they call till i check my phone.

This number has called my mom's house several times, they somehow obtained my birthdate and i have advised my mom, and the rest of my family, to never give any information to anyone for any reason, legitimate companies would and should by law send you a collection letter, to your home and allow you the oportunity to respond to that letter,

I got a call from this number repeatedly, but whenever I tried to answer it, it just self-disconnected on me.  As a result, I never called back.

Call repeatedly asking for someone who does not life here but I do know the person, then got smart when I would not give them my name because they weren't calling for me and said they would just keep calling every day and hung up.

yes i have been getting calls from this number and demanes that i call them back concerning a credit card that had been turned in on my credit back in 2009 and that i need to pay them now. they also told me that they sent me a letter out to my address concerning this and here it is 2011 and still no letter and calls every day. this is a scam and wish they would stop calling me and my family.

Its a collection agency, 3 rd party meaning your WAY behind.

I keep getting calls from this number even after I have told them they have the WRONG person.  I think this company does an internet search and if the name matches - even though nothing else does - they go in for the kill!!!

I get many calls from this number and a person named Rowen Powers for a debt I owe. This debt was a dept I tried working out a payment plan, but the company would not work with me. They have gone to the extent of calling my neighbor and having her leave a note on my door. They said they have a claim against me as well. Even after I said I am in the process of claiming bankruptcy, have an attorney, they still call. If you filing for bankruptcy and have retained an attorney, they are suppose to hold the calls. This collection company (866-572-8794) is unprofessional and ruthless on how they handle their business.

Yes a neighbor gave me this number saying to call it.

They have started calling for a bill for my daughter...They don't seem to get it that she doesn't live at home with me any more...we live 300 miles apart....They have called me 3 times already and the first time I called her and told her that somebody was looking for her...She called them to see what it was..
she told them not to call me any more and they still do....I have gotten 2 more calls from them.....

Someone calls looking for someone I don't know.  He won't stop asking for his telephone number.  He is very insistent and I don't know anyone by the name he gives me.  I don't know how to stop him.

I received a phone call from this number this morning. He asked for someone, I asked him who he was, he said he was with Simms Associates. I said I am not the person you are asking for, this is my phone number in my name and I have no connection with you. Remove this number from your list., He said "But do you know the person I am calling for?" I told him it did not matter if I did or not, the person he was calling for did not live at the address where this phone is located nor is the phone in that person's name. Stop calling. I'm going to take the idea I read on someone else's post and write down the phone number(s) and see if there is a way to block the calls or at least I'll know not to answer.

Someone called me from this number and refused to provide me with written form of communication stating that they will only do that after I give them my bank info to secure a payment.  Very poor mannered and somewhat hostile.....Did state that she knew where I lived, worked and who my neighbors are!
